House is wrong on Ritalin, and it’s more like meth with a G rating unlike all the other ADHD mood regulator medications which are either meth on PG or PG-13 ratings.
Wrong. Ritalin, from a pharmacology perspective, is much more similar to cocaine than methamphetamine. Ritalin is not an amphetamine and it’s not a dopamine releasing agent, it’s a dopamine reuptake inhibitor, just like cocaine is.

1:00 if anyone doesn’t understand this, from the perspective of someone who does have fairly bad adhd, and who takes a stimulant to correct the worst issues, this is caused by your nerves firing off incorrect or a massive amount of signals. It happens quite a lot in people, like me, who have partial seizures or who over stress and it’s usually a clear sign that you’re taking the wrong thing and you should switch medications. Or, sometimes, it can just mean that you’re stressing your body too much and not getting enough rest which can result in either spasms or a full collapse of function in the limb. Stress combined with a stimulant can cause the heart to beat hard and quick which means your heart is working harder to get blood to every part of the body and this can often make sleeping tough. These symptoms can eventually lead to constant lightheadedness (low blood pressure), blackouts, or even muscle spasms and psychotic behavior in the very worst cases. I’m no doctor but i’ve had to deal with leveling out and understanding the affects these medications can have on your physical and mental health from a very young age. And although you could see some fairly psychotic behavior exhibited by people who take these types of medication it is a far stretch to assume these medications could in any way cause full blown delusions without there being any previous family history of mental illness or psychotic behavior. I also understand now that my specific medication can cause severe depression. I now understand that I have Mdd. I now understand that I was very unstable just a year ago because of the affect my medication had on me. And I now understand that sometimes antidepressants and counseling is the only option because even off my medication i’m still depressed my adhd meds just exacerbate the issue. So, basically, know what you’re getting into before you make the decision to go for medication.
Because the only symptom she'd had up to that point was some kind of discomfort in her arm. Was I the only one paying attention? The spasms didn't start until she was behind the wheel.
Okay but Elle Fanning was stinking adorable here. I remember her sister being everywhere when they were little girls. Now they’re in their 20s and Elle has really gone to the big leagues! One time they mentioned in an interview how difficult Physics was going to be and given I was a junior in high school myself at the time, I found that super relatable.

Ah, I see this is a left-hand cane episode. 🙂 You gotta give it to Hugh Laurie for the entire performance, but it's also a nice touch how he switches legs some times, and according to him no one on set ever made note of it.

Not everyone who goes to hospital has the propensity to *_yeet_* themselves through glass Like, just to remind you, this is an Accident and Emergency hospital, not a mental asylum.

They really dropped the ball on this episode, at the end of the video when he's talking to the patient, they show him talking to her on the left side and the husband is on the right side yet when they do close up shots they show her looking to the right when talking to house and to the left when talking to the husband. They are out of frame when its focused on her talking too so it was hard to tell where they were and "get a feel of the room". We don't see them all in one frame but then we see them hand her the "toxicity screen paper". They show it being handed to her on the right, and like I said they made it look like the husband was on the right so you'd assume it was him. However, since it was a cafeteria menu and house lied about it so she'd confess about doing drugs, I thought house handed it to the husband who then handed it to her. He wasn't told about the ruse of tricking her into admitting using drugs by pretending it was "toxicity screen result" so it was weird how he presumably went along with it.
As someone who takes ADHD medication, and has been medicated since I was young (I was diagnosed in 1st grade, and was medicated in 4th grade), it truly bothers me that people take ADHD medications thinking they can get so much done, or that it will make them smarter or better at doing things, but in reality, it can cause serious problems.
Couldn't agree more. It isn't likely to cause serious problems, but it definitely. Plus, it's people like that who make us look bad for taking the medication we need.

Super irresponsible of the show to imply that an MRI poses a danger to, well, anyone, but particularly a pregnant woman. There is absolutely no danger and it's been done literally millions of times by this point.
It doesn't, it's quite clear the patient is over-reacting. They can't say there's 0 risk because there's not - every treatment carries risks. You can hear the hesitation and pause as they confirm there ARE risks, as if to say "Well, yeah but..."
There was study done and the MRI was fine but the stuff they use for contrast gadolinium is very dangerous. This is why they have stopped using this type of contrast on pregnant women.

The issue isn't the Ritalin, Ted. It's that she was taking a medication that wasn't prescribed to her. Ritalin doesn't do that when you actually have ADHD and when you're taking the correct dose.
No, the issue was the Ritalin. He's not writing off Ritalin as a treatment for ADHD altogether, he's pissed that his wife, who like you said earlier, was not taking medication prescribed to her and got high while taking care of their child. Terence McKenna was a real version of house but unfortunately passed a while back and he was an ethnobotanist. Terence had a special relationship with psilocybin like house did with Vicodin.

There are. The real Houses -- brilliant, awkward, antisocial -- get ostracized and frozen out of every profession. They generally end up either punching a cash register (if they can pass as human) or on the street and drinking or dosing themselves into numbness to try to avoid the misery of living among stupids who regard good manners and conformity as more important than intelligence and talent.
There probably is but without the sarcasm, which is House Lite.

She isn’t the “bad guy”. Even good people can do bad things.
A mom w/ a lot of self induced pressure and responsibilities and a negligent husband that does nothing, doesn't listen, wants his own kid, and clearly doesn't pay enough attention to notice all the stress the mom is under OR the other kid's learning disability.

I love house. He’s so sarcastic but he gets the job done lol

10 years from now this channel will just be uploading full episodes
