The father actually tried to resist a little even when extremely drunk, but not enough. The girl is the actual abuser here, not the father. For a second I thought it was super wholesome. Also do IVs really travel that fast? It looked like she started twitching the instant he pinched the thingy (very scientific term) and stopped the instant he let go but I feel like it should take at least a few seconds for it to travel and then a little bit more to take effect right?
*if* i remember correctly, he’s actually proving that the symptom is psychosomatic, for exactly the reason you described - she can see him start/stop the IV, so she thinks something in her body is changing, so she starts/stops twitching in response.
yes! IV drugs work almost instantly, sometimes even before you finish pushing it through. it wouldn't be quite as instantaneous with IVIg, but that's just shortened for television lol. the IVIg proved she had cancer, but it was testicular cancer. she was born intersex and immune to testosterone, so instead of ovaries she had underdeveloped testicles. testes hang outside of the body for a reason; undescended testicles pretty much always turn cancerous because they're not meant to grow and function at body temp
@Wither_Strike @Sky Lowell Yes, It should take a lot long than that to take effect. depending on the drug, it can take anywhere from under a minute (like morphine) to half an hour or more (like IV paracetamol and antibiotics) to take noticible effect. Either way, it wouldn't be instant. The theory of the twitching stopping due to psychosomatic reasons WAS explored, but after giving her a placebo, the twitching resumed, confirming it was physical. Basically, the writers took a bit of artistic liberty with the speed of the medicine for a bit of added drama and to pad out the episode while they checked with the placebo.
It honestly depends on the medicine. I remember when I went in to have my wisdom teeth removed, and the dentist told me “Once we start the anesthesia, you’ll feel a slight burning sensation, but only for a few seconds”. And the IV was in my hand so I figured ok, no big deal. They started the anesthesia, and I’d say within 1 or 2 seconds, I felt the burning sensation, but in my groin, which made me jolt pretty hard because I wasn’t expecting it. But the doc was right, it only lasted I think 2 or 3 seconds, and then I started to go unconscious, which also only took between 5-7 seconds. But other medications, like different kinds of painkillers, antibiotics, or even IV antipsychotics, can take quite a bit longer to take effect. It depends on a lot of factors, including the amount of medication, the size of the patient, the patient’s blood pressure and heart-rate, and what the medication is targeting/treating.
I'm glad to see people standing against children being assaulted but this particular episode she admitted to Cameron that she got her dad really drunk and SA'd him so he'll let her do whatever she wants.
It’s weird that the adults are all drooling over her. I mean she’s pretty but not any prettier than Cameron. I don’t see why the doctors should be unprofessional and creepy towards her
Because human nature is to find attractive people attractive. The whole "being unprofessional" thing is also kind of part of the show. I agree you shouldn't, like, show it, but finding someone labeled a supermodel as attractive means you're normal. Either way, you definitely couldn't make this episode today. And probably shouldn't make it in general
Disgusting how House is directly talking to a 15y.o. and can't stop making sexist remarks and Chase just tells everybody he's been looking at bikini pictures of said 15y.o.
he was saying the stuff he said infront of her father to see how he'd react to someone older hitting on her, her dad didn't say anything, meaning he just sees her as an object to be looked at, house doesn't do things for no reason 😭 also he was quoting how her father talks about her

So… back then they just had adult doctors in their 40s lusting over a 15 year old in an episode of a major tv series? Crazy how much difference a couple decades can make.

I like these House clips ... especially since there's no way I'd pay for the full shows because I used to watch them for the cost of a few commercials way back when in a thing called analog reception TV
I think the idea was Swyer’s Syndrome, as mentioned in another comment. They can be taller and I guess that could make them look older. Though I am uncomfortable with all these adults drooling over her. Love this show, but that was weird. My guess, since she stated in the actual episode, all the young super models sleep with their Managers/Fathers. Could be a statement piece since they ended up being really upset that he slept with her. idk, just a bit icky to me.
Yooo, did House and Chase really make a bet on whether or not the 15 YEAR OLD had real boobs or not?? And Chase remarking how much bigger they are than last year? WTF
The day models aren't underaged, is a whole other thing. People are going to lust no matter what. Do you know how many women wanted Finn from Stranger Things? It's the way the world works.
Yes. I was in a ward when I was 12 and they were installing a "halo" (into someone else) but I could hear it and the sound gave me nightmares because I knew what they were doing.
Spoiler for diognoses: The team spent ages looking for cancer, but couldn't find any. House realized her lack of periods was connected and sent the team to do an abdominal MRI and the team found underdeveloped testies were her overies should be which had turned cancerous. This was what caused her symptoms and would have ordanerily been an easy diognosis except that no one knew to look for testies. Biologically, she was actually a male but was immune to testosterone which gave her highened feminine features such as clear skin and large, perky breasts. Also important context regarding the father, it turned out the whole thing was "her" idea; she slept with a number of men (presumed men since the gender of her partners/victims is not stated) to manipulate them for her own benifit, including her mentor, and photographer. Her Dad was actually the last on the list and she had to get him drunk to do so "Because by sleeping with him, now he lets me do whatever I want." She even stated in a conversation with Cameron that "we all do it" and when she asked if Cameron had never taken a pass at her boss or anyone else she needed, Cameron stayed wisely quiet (bless her neive heart).
So, was the teenage model an intersex boy or an intersex girl with Swyer’s Syndrome? Most girls and women with Swyer’s Syndrome have uteri and menstruation, although they are intersex and infertile because they have Y chromosomes. A woman with this syndrome actually shared her story publicly on Reddit, although I had to look up exactly what her condition is. Prior to reading her account and then looking up “biological [or intersex] women with Y chromosomes”, I had never heard of Swyer’s Syndrome.
@@NicoleCzarnecki I'm not sure about Swyer’s Syndrome but the explanation in the episode was she was "immune to testosterone". I don't know how accurate it is but she didn't have periods. Plus, the episode was made before the term "intersex" really existed, at least in it's current form with all the political connotations. For all intents and purposes, she was female. Uber female in fact. She looked female, acted female, and was treated female but technically had male DNA. Normally the ovaries drop in-utero and develop into testes in the presence of XY DNA and testosterone, but because she was immune to testosterone she never developed into a male and actually had heightened female features as a result; clear skin, curvy hips, perky breasts etc. She was female for all intents and purposes but didn't have periods and was infertile.
I think he was being cynically ironic because he objects to their objectification. That's how it reads to me at least, he gives the dad a hard time with his own words in the magazine for example.

House 2.0, will that ever happen? “Meaning like new episodes of house.”
No
yes coming out on hulu don't know if it will just be a limited series. They said Hugh already signed on for it cant wait. Hope they bring back wilson too
@@davidwooderson46 I doubt that. At the series finale, Wilson was dying of cancer, and House faked his own death.
@@l.a.3479 Maybe Wilson discovers the cure for cancer is Ivermectin?
Nope that couldnt happen, the globalists that own the TV corps and big phama wouldnt allow it
For a second I thought it was super wholesome.
@@LunykStormdragon huh, that would actually make a lot of sense
@Wither_Strike @Sky Lowell
Yes, It should take a lot long than that to take effect. depending on the drug, it can take anywhere from under a minute (like morphine) to half an hour or more (like IV paracetamol and antibiotics) to take noticible effect.

Because human nature is to find attractive people attractive. The whole "being unprofessional" thing is also kind of part of the show. Spoiler for diognoses:
The team spent ages looking for cancer, but couldn't find any.
Maybe it was Turners syndrome🧐
androgen insensitivity syndrome
One time, is one time too many.

I think he was being cynically ironic because he objects to their objectification. That's how it reads to me at least, he gives the dad a hard time with his own words in the magazine for example.
