18:59 I love that from the moment House starts with the fake tears, Wilson’s expressions went to “yeah something’s not right here”. Shows how Wilson knew House better than his own mother.
Your wife was an alcoholic so you just left her AND your son. You’re supposed to take your son with you, not leave him to the abuse of your ex-wife. Then, he had to deal with her final stages of alcoholism & death. The father knew as grown man it wasn’t healthy for him but left his teenage son to do the heavy lifting. With not even so much as a phone call to make sure he’s okay and/or not homeless. He just left & started his life fresh, no wife & no son. Now that he’s dying, he wants to make amends to feel good about himself. Where are all the people he spent years building relationships with outside of his son?
Given chase's age we talk about 1990s courts still overwhelmingly awarded custody to mothers. So if Missis Chase could clean up and come to court sober and presentable it would have been VERY hard battle for Doctor Chase.
That sh*t happened all the time and probably still does. TRY to get the kid away from the mother. She must not have been abusive, or even that neglectful, but she drank herself to death and little Bobby had to watch her and take care of her. No excuse for the dad to not stay in touch or even HELP his own child. What an awful situation.
Clearly you aren’t paying attention. House has clearly stated that everyone’s parents screw them up. Ha even better. Just finished the video and heard the actual quote. You *really* haven’t been paying attention.
Chase was my favourite character in the show, I liked watching how he grew & changed as he matured, flaws and all. It was boring when he wasn’t in it much in season 5 & 6 and instead the focus was on 13 who I found annoying.
1:22 I'm just watching House drinking it all in. And he's loving every moment of it. Seeing the back and forth between Chase and his dad. House was clearly trying to get under Chase's skin.
This show had the best writing and the best acting. And directing. A Tuesday evening did not go by without watching this with my friends. And watching these, they still hold up as great tv. Thanks for this channel!
I’m sorry but the people writing Cameron’s lines clearly never experienced neglect or other forms of abuse. Yeah, PARENTS CAN BE AS BAD AS THEIR KIDS REMEMBER. I can’t begin to imagine how demoralizing it must be for estranged children to basically be told they’re wrong for cutting contact if their parents weren’t physically abusive. Abuse comes in many different flavors and being hit is only tip of the iceberg
ive met plenty of people in real life who have camerons perspective on bad parents. i think the point of her lines is to show that she is naive and hasnt gone through the same things that house and chase did. i dont think the writers are naive i think they are just writing a naive character. ive ended a few friendships and relationships with people who simply couldn't understand that some parents dont deserve forgiveness
I don’t think it was the writers being bad, were we supposed to like Cameron here? I didn’t, I think she was a good representation of how stupid people can be when dealing with emotional abuse victims
Actually, her lines fall perfectly in line with the bleeding-heart characterization. She is super quick to draw unsubstantiated conclusions, judges based on them, and masks her inward superiority with kindness. You see it all the time, really. People who think they know better, and think they're helping others, but only because they subconsciously put themselves on a pedestal. It's the height of arrogance, and is basically Cameron to a tee. The writers knew exactly what they were doing, because she was annoying af.
Nothing, and I mean NOTHING WILL ever forgive a child vitriolic anger. Nothing will forgive the sacrifice the anger that sits within me not helping my sister.
yes, in a later season episode he DNA tests his supposed dad and the results come back negative. the real twist is that the guy he THOUGHT it was wasnt either, so technically we never find out exactly who it is.
@@losingmymind611 There might be Czech, but there's nothing detectably Australian (none of the three main dialects). It would be more believable for a mixture of Czech and South Boston. Not a single Australian would pick that he has any Australian accent influence. I'm _very_ confident about that.

the way in which people are able to regard entire groups of people as some kind of monolithic entity will never cease to amaze me - it’s almost like there are twats, have always been twats, and will always be twats in each and every generation. by Jove, we need to get over ourselves.
"I've given him enough hugs. He's given me enough disappointment."
Sums up EVERY strained father-child relationship ever.
My disappointment was that I was never given a hug from him! A cold sterile environment.

guess is the reason he didn't told him about his cancer, he knows he doesn't deserve the pity
Not to mention leaving nothing for his son in his will.

11:15 that waking up has an excellent detail. I too bump the back of my head when I wake up after I've fallen asleep in a vehicle.
Every person in this show has mommy/daddy issues
