The thing is, Steve constantly purposefully tried to get Rainn and John to break, and when they did he ended up laughing just as much. So cool those three guys have developed lifelong friendships through doing that show.
Yeah I've probably watched it 50 times by now and it still brings me to tears laughing. They should bring that show back and do an entire episode of "Tube City."😂
I used to do some comedy acting when I was younger, and EVENTUALLY it stops making you laugh. Think about it, how many times can you hear a joke before it stops making you laugh?
@lens_hunterYes, but after a while it's not even about the joke itself anymore. People keep laughing because others are laughing too, and a funny atmosphere is created because of people's reactions, so the joke may have lost its humor a long time ago; we keep laughing out of nervousness and a sense of friendship. 😂
The writers have said it’s one of the episodes they’re most proud of because of how hard it was for Steve to get through it. He was very rarely the first to break on set; you can even see him stay in character through other actors breaking in several of these bloopers (although him staying in character in the blooper where Rainn farts in the condo will always be my favorite). He had such a hard time with the dinner party!
I would imagine that those are the ones they fight the most to get through because they know they're sitting on a goldmine if they can't get through it 😂
Senior yr, our lit class was broken up in to groups to put on our own show using different stories & make a video for the class to watch. Cannot for the life of me recall what story we chose, but I remember the dining room scene we did, there were 8 of us. Some of the lines were difficult to get through with a straight face & once we got to laughing, there was no stopping. We'd all Crack up at the same time, at different intervals, but once that first blooper happened, we were all in tears. We must have done about 20 or more takes before getting through it. It was one of the best assignments we ever had 😂 & we kept all the bloopers for the end which had the class roaring. I remember the teacher laughing so hard she cried
I had to a presentation with a best friend (turns out we were both ADHD later in life) and some quiet girl, we got filmed, anyhow my mate and I died laughing on the floor we actually couldn't stop, good ole 3 Rd girl finished it. Gosh 25 years on we still talk about it!
I love that they're really just filming themselves in a car for some of those shots! No CG background, just three fellas trying their best to get takes in a car, awesome!
1:00 You see these crazy complicated contraptions with the actual driver sitting on the literal roof of a car and what-not, just so the actors don't have to drive and can focus on their job. Meanwhile The Office just put a car on a flat-bed or a trailer and drove around town. I'm sure there a good reasons for doing it either way, just something I noticed.
Then there's other stories like Supernatural, where Jensen Ackles has talked about having to act, say his lines, drive a car safely, and drive so the camera dolly gets the correct shots.
I'm so glad to see the scene with Jan, where she's a real laughing and not being hostile towards Mike. The scene was so intense, I forgot they're acting
actually, krasinski is the perfect jim, and the perfect hiccup was jay baruchel as the voice, and it turns out we don't need live-action remakes of anything.
It’s amazing that they were ever able to finish a single scene honestly lmfao
Especially with all the improvising. It’s harder when the jokes catch you off guard
I don’t know how they made it through the dinner episode
I can’t imagine the lifetime memories all the actors and cast must have made just being a part of The Office.
Listen to the office ladies podcast, that gives you another behind the scenes look
I completely understand now why all of them were bawling wrapping the series and when Michael left.
@MrCobee91 in the good or bad way?
@danielcastro6412good! It’s Pam and Angela in real life talking about their time on the show!
@danielcastro6412good I assume, him and Pam were actually really good friends, she has multiple talked about him
“Just the noise you made when you stood up” is probably the best blooper clip in office existence. Rainn’s laugh kills me every time @3:55
Woahhh!😂
Yeah I had to send that to my friends immediately with the timestamp. Lol hilarious
Chris Pratt's comeback story for parks&rec
the "we get to go home" from Stanley is the funniest one for me undisputed
I did not get the joke. Why this noise was funny?
Rainn is king. God he’s so good in this show.
The folding tv blooper will never not make me laugh.
Even the take that they kept makes me laugh every time. 😂
'Right over here Jim'
@RobertvanderBroekthat's my absolute favorite part of all the bloopers
I don't get that joke. What's so funny?
@th3_jew1sh_str0ngm5n9it's a tiny TV that folds a quarter of an inch
love it when Jim tries to hold it in and then lets out that little squeak xD
100% it’s my favourite too. Pure joy ❤
Like air escaping from a balloon.
You mean John, right?
Bros XDing in the big 2025
@robin_holdenhow are you a real person
“Your body only has a certain amount” 🤣🤣🤣
That's what she said 🤣
"A pint? That's nearly an armful!" (Tony Hancock)
we saw the video🙄
This isn’t Steve being the funny one. It’s the script. Give the writers credit
I don't get it
The thing is, Steve constantly purposefully tried to get Rainn and John to break, and when they did he ended up laughing just as much. So cool those three guys have developed lifelong friendships through doing that show.
Source? Steve always says sorry when he messes up a take, feels like he wouldn't do it on purpose
@PaddyRoon7 I mean, saying sorry is just the polite thing to do
@Sephiroso. I can't quote a source but I recall him saying as much in interviews, that he hates messing up takes
@PaddyRoon7 Legitimately messing up a take due to a mistake is different than trying to make friends laugh though.
@Sephiroso. True. I guess he wants to avoid being the first to laugh when he can help it
0:35 the tiny tv gets me everytime lol
the best😂
Every time* (every day, every month, every year... Each time, each day etc...)
Haha😂
Yeah I've probably watched it 50 times by now and it still brings me to tears laughing. They should bring that show back and do an entire episode of "Tube City."😂
When he says “ it folds in” 😭😭😭😭
You grow some sort of love and hate for Dwight only to realize that Rainn is the coolest human being alive
Then you find out he was on Epstein's Island and an icon dies
@IsThisUsernameAvailable Fake list, apparently
Yes!!!!!
"The Dinner Party" might be the funniest episode of any show ever.
Funniest and also most uncomfortable. That one night!
I love when he yells "TTTHATS WHAT SHE SAID"
Its amazing they every got through filming that one.
I'm baffled that it was ever finished 😂, they had to have been cracking up the whole time they were filming.
@SJ-mn9utIdk "Scott's Tots" was pretty uncomfortable lol
1:53 he was NOT expecting Toby to be that close and then THE BOWTIE 😂😂😂😂
😂🤣👏👏
"It's.. ..s a bow tie.."
The diabetes joke has to be one of the best off the cuff lines ever 😂.
If that wasn’t scripted and he said that, there’s zero chance I’d be able to hold it together lmao.
Up there with Kim Kardashian's comeback
@PaddyRoon7 "it says here your may have network communication problems"
Love all the breaking…it seems like a miracle that any episode was ever completed…😅😅😅
the dinner party episode had to have taken several days and the editors had to scramble to release it in time lmao
That's tracks. That must have been a hard episode to get through. It's like Steve has to break the tension just to get the giggles out of the way
and yet still you can see they are on the brink of breaking character all the time 😂
The writers have said it’s one of the episodes they’re most proud of because of how hard it was for Steve to get through it. He was very rarely the first to break on set; you can even see him stay in character through other actors breaking in several of these bloopers (although him staying in character in the blooper where Rainn farts in the condo will always be my favorite). He had such a hard time with the dinner party!
You made everything alright 🎶
6:11 "Ooh, make spicy foooo" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
When steve pushes that plasma tv against the wall.
That chemistry among the different actors is what made this show so memorable :)
I love that Steve was always super on point with the shoot, but always loved cracking people up, what a dream
John's little giggle when he can't hold it in could end wars.
Right 🤣
0:29 John’s laugh is the cutest thing ever 😮💨
100% 😂
Mid sentence “I cut a chunk… 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣”
2:40 i cant with the noises john makes when he laugh
The line about Stanley having diabetes was peak. 😂😂😂
“the noise you made when you stood up”😂😂😂
4:40 break Will Ferrell is only accomplished by legends
The best/worst thing is that the 3 "main" male actors, if you will, have a characteristic and contagious laugh.
I have more respect for the show, knowing that it was just filming the actors trying to make each other break character.
0:59 the fact that by the end they both are looking out the window on purpose but they still both break
The script has to say "Micheal pushes a 16-inch TV and says 'It folds right into the wall"' I'd still be laughing to this day.
3:18 Michael getting closer and closer with each cut 😂 the aura alone would have my dying of laughter idk how these guys do it
it's a miracle john made it out alive because he's been fighting for his live the entire show :D
"what do you think" is one of my favorite line deliveries every
Its cute the way Jenna put her head on John's shoulder as a way of trying to get back into character.
4:10 Scene is one of the best laughs 😂
Its my favorite! Steve is so fucking witty. I bet the comment wasnt in the script
Seeing the actor who plays Stanley laugh like that really threw me off lol
@mastod0n1 he had some scenes in the show where stanley laughed and these scenes were always my favorites.
It's so good 😂😂😂
Came to put timestamp 🎉😂❤
5:15 I legit can't not laugh at Steve scream -whispering
1:48 love it!
Same. They went from their characters to "the Boys" instantly
John Krazinski is so adorable. He has the cutest laugh ever.
“if you so much as touch a hair on stanley’s head“😂😂
"Egypt..."😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I wouldnt last five seconds working with Steve before I broke. 😂
That’s what she said!
-Michael
Same i try to hold on to my laughter
1:12 The way he just flatly says it 🤣
They’re all so primed to laugh at whatever Steve does, they can’t help giggling even when he does something not that crazy 😂😂
“Just the noise you made when you got up” is one of the greatest improved lines in comedy history lmao
I wonder if a scene has ever been cut from a comedy because nobody could get through it.
I would imagine that those are the ones they fight the most to get through because they know they're sitting on a goldmine if they can't get through it 😂
5:17 wasn't in the actual episode, and the line about creed's skull being a soup bowl was also cut
Many times.

Hardest job ever containing your laughter 😂 😢
The small flat screen TV monitor with surround sound is what cracked me up the most 😝🤣
It really makes you wonder how many actual takes it took.
I’m now convinced that every time I see Jim covering his mouth to look bored is actually him hiding his laugh
In context, the TV in "The Dinner Party" is one of the funniest sight gags in comedy history. 👍
Saw a cast interview where they said filming that dinner party episode with that small wall tv was the hardest they laughed the entire show filming.
0:43 the clunk when it folds & then John’s squeal lol
I also love how Steve takes a step back to "observe" the folded TV and just starts laughing at it.
"Check this out... folds" has some of the best comedic timing I've ever seen
I love that they're really just filming themselves in a car for some of those shots! No CG background, just three fellas trying their best to get takes in a car, awesome!
he knew flattening the tv was gold right when he did it 😭
Yeah, hah, he just stood there looking at the TV and laughing, before they all broke together.
1:50 his hate for Toby 😂😂😂😂
absolute travesty that Steve Carrell never won an Emmy for this role -- absolute perfection.

The dinner episode is one of the best comedy episodes of any show.
"I cut a chunk of my pen-" 😂😂
I wish I could experience the office for the first time again
It’s been like 8 years since I’ve first watched the “tv scene” and it still gets me. Im dying
I wish y’all could see how much Steve looks and acts like my boss. It’s wild.
They looked like they had so much fun....
John Krasinski was the weakest link😂😂😂
it makes so much sense they wouldn't be able to finish scenes in 'dinner party' because of laughing. such an absurdly good episode.
Seeing the bloopers after we’ve seen every episode about 5-10 times makes it even more funny 😂
I'm so glad to see the scene with Jan, where she's a real laughing and not being hostile towards Mike.
The scene was so intense, I forgot they're acting
That little plasma tv bit is so good. Gets me every time
"it folds right into the wall" is one of the best lines ever!
john krasinki's giggle sooo cute
The first scranton strangler cut is where i died out loud
"I throw Paula Poundstone off the roof" I think will always be my favourite outtake from this show
"Check this out" **moves it 2 inches**
Omfg lol
"...Egypt"
"...Nope"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Everything with Toby is awesome.
Steve's the ultimate master. He holds everyone else in the palm of his hand
Id sell my soul to have been on the set of every one of these episodes. I love Steve
John's squeals are the best part 😂
Steve Carrell's high pitched laugh is EVERYTHING!😅
Michael's plasma tv is the best blooper ever 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dinner party must’ve been impossible to finish 😂
"Don't start laughing!"
"Now *you* with the laughing!"
Hahahahahaah!
3:36 i really hate that John krasinski wasnt born later bro he would make the perfect live action hiccup for HTTYD.
actually, krasinski is the perfect jim, and the perfect hiccup was jay baruchel as the voice, and it turns out we don't need live-action remakes of anything.
This literally brought me so much joy in this moment lmao
When you see the laugh bits, you see what a dream come true this show was.
This cast was PERFECT!
John looks like hes gonna start crying every time and it destroys me
Nothing harder or more funny than being told you can't laugh
This is one of the best things to watch after finishing the Office
It looks like everyday lasted an eternity and it was nothing but a party.
Everyone did a great job but Steve WAS The Office.
"My job is killing me"
Me at my job:
You know this show was gonna be epic when the cast can’t even keep it together 🤣
JIM'S LAUGH IS PRECIOUS !
fine I'll rewatch The Office
the episode with the little TV was one of the most hilarious ones ever in the history of television
When he pushed that micro flat tv against the wall I was outta there 😂
The two of them together was pure GOLD.
so nice to see Jan laugh like a normal person
I have no idea how any of them *ever* finished the dinner party episode. Best one of the whole series imo.
JOHN COVERING HIS FACE EVERY TIME HE LAUGHS
the scene with the TV in michael and jan's condo is possibly the funniest in the series
