Fantastic video about adjusting Defender rear door lock. I had been struggling for weeks - watched 4.38 mins, followed advice and in 15 mins the door lock works perfectly.

I've had my truck for over 5 years and the back door has always been a pain! Thought it was just the way it was with a land rover. A 10mm socket and 60 seconds of effort and it now open and shuts as sweet as a nut! 🤣

YES! I got exactly the same problem after swapping the rear door. The door sit a bit higher it seems. Have to realign the torsion bar as well
My rear door has always been hard to open. I'm off outside to adjust it! Thanks Mike!

You say you took a little off.
Currently have triggers brush [ not sure whats parts are original 109 ] in the workshop and after aligning the rear tub, the rear door latch and dove tail is now off by 15mm or so. In your opinion when does "a little off" become a lot off.
Have same problem with driver door, I believe same principle applies.

Excellent tips for when I fit my new galv safari door! Driver's door doesn't line up whatsoever, so here's hoping the new hinges I bought rectifies that.....
Have you ever done anything about the gap at the top of the driver/passenger door frame? The way you can see the door seal above the frame from the inside, it leaves a decent inch or so gap [and if you have bent frames you can see the daylight through them].. I was thinking of applying a door brush seal into that gap just to stop air movement

My Landy has an older style latch, with a brass piece that just springs out behind a piece bolted to the tub, and it rattles like crazy. I was wondering whether one of these anti-burst locks would fit on my old series?

If you run out of striker and dove tail adjustment, that suggests the door is sitting low. It could be hinge adjustment or worn brass balls on pre-TDCI hinges. Once everything is set correctly, you should be able to close the door, wheel fitted, with one finger.
Out of curiosity, are those stainless or chromed hinges, or are they just normal new hinges reflecting a lot of lighting glare?

Do you know roughly the safest weight can the rear door can carry on puma ? I bought an 18” alloy and thinking about a swing away wheel carrier but they are bit pricey.
Literally just refitted rear latch this morning, only had washers for a shim. Sorry mike
