sorry to disagree, i love both cars but the a45 seems better to me and thats because it doesn't have the image of an AMG. If you on the autobahn here in germany and you see an A class in the rear window u would think of nothing but when it then just flies past you its amazing same with the acceleration at a traffic light. with the cla someone that doest know their cars would expect that car to go quick with the a45 they wouldn't. but then again thats just my opinion ;)
That noise you're hearing when shifting is called torque management. Its the computer retarding the ignition timing to reduce power to help the transmission live longer, but it also hurts 0-60 and 1/4 mile times big time.
Train spotting here but A45 gets red inserts on the vents CLA gets sliver. Also A45 gets black insert near the top of the seats, CLA gets silver. Cant wait for this beast to land in Oz.

the 1M bmw does look the nuts and sounds epic but its rear wheel drive . The RS3 i dont know much about and seems a bit round and robust looking . The A45 ticks all the box's apart from when he mentioned something about the gearbox being confused?

in australia we can buy a bathurst lancer evo for $74k & 270kw standard & there's a lot more tuning potential with an evo but i think the merc would be nicer to own for a daily driver.

One point for cla 45 amg One little problem for people who will carry more than two passengers . The rear is roof is really small I went there today and I'm 5.7, I can't seat straight up in rear seat

even though i dont like audis very much i have the say that the a3 is outstanding, i have drove both (rented them) and the a-class hatchback is just not good at all. the new rs3 (dont think its out yet) would be a lot better and the s3 is not as powerfull enough to be compared
What is the definition of the "4 door coupe"? Automotive industry gone mad with the body types naming. Coupes used to be 2 doors cars. 4 doors were sedans. These days its impossible to differ even a hatchback from a sedan. Take a Nissan Friend-ME for egzample or a KIA CUB. Same is with the CLA. It supposed to be a sedan, not a bloody 4 door coupe.

I loved the CLA when I saw it at a motor show earlier this year, but the A45 AMG does indeed look more compelling than the CLA45 AMG!
I'll take either one; btw 0-60 was clocked at 4.1 when Matt Watson raced it against a CLS63 in a drag race

Everybody banging on about the FQ400. MPG is very important nowadays the Merc can return up to 40. The FQ what about 8-15 lol.

Why does everybody say its the most powerful production car engine per liter. It's not. It's the Koenigsegg Agera R, I believe 220 HP per liter.

no, brits use bhp, while us people uses hp. e.g. Aventador has 700 hp but 693bhp, bugatti veyron has 1001 hp and 983bhp, etc.

$76,500 american dollars will get you a brand new Corvette and a bunch of mods. Or a BMW M5, if that's more your style.
