The only thing I miss from mercedes was if they kept the AMG line to at least V6. Too bad European emission laws have made them to switch to 4 cylinder vehicles. It's a shame because I'll need to stick to my 4 banger until I can afford a real V8 amg

It's the CLA45s, but I agree. The A45s Hatch has done a 12.1 in the past. I have seen some AMG models struggle to launch, but I'm not sure if that happened here.

Lol those are not rivals to the m240. The m235i Gran coupe is a direct competitor to the s3 and a35/cla35. The m240i in other races isn’t that quick. It’s only quick off the line, I can show you a few races and it’s barely quicker than a stock golf r from a roll. Regardless, it’s not a rival to any of these cars

Objectively speaking, in the photo-finish of the rolling race, the Mercedes seems to appear to be ahead in the 2nd last frame. Due to the perspective of the BMW being closer to the camera, makes it seem like it's ahead in the last frame of the photo-finish. So the Mercedes seemed to have won the rolling race - or at least a tie with the BMW.
Wow that BMW has really some impressive performances in comparison with the amg in particular, also considering that the cla had 420hps and the 240i had 50 less hp! in my opinion BMW knows how to make AMG owners very angry lol
The BMW is unlikely to be properly run in yet, so should get a little quicker when it is. It's also significantly cheaper than the other two, being less than the base price of the Audi when fully optioned. And has a pukka inline six.
I think the Merc won that last race, if you look at the frame before they cross merc seems just a tiny little bit closer, could be wrong its really hard to tell tho
The last rolling race? It either won it by a slim margin or drew with m2. The guys at Carwow don’t know what parallax error is. Also the finish line is never straight on camera lol

Sad that the Audi sounds so bad here. The engine makes the best noise of alle of these but sadly environment happened and we have to deal with particle filters and soft limiters..
If you wait until the warranty ends in 3 year you can install an aftermarket Milltek non-resonated exhaust and it will sound like a Lambo with half the cylinders
Totally. Really 50hp difference is only going to be seen top end. Lower down, the Mercedes is struggling with its weight. The RS3 for some reason always struggles and needs a remap to wake it up. All in all though, can’t deny that BMW can just make a car that has a well connected engine, chassis and drivetrain. All working together it shaves seconds off. I still struggle to like them though for some reason.
Given the M240i is a rung down the model range vs the others that’s very impressive. Have the same brakes on my car and they stand up to abuse well - even has active brake ducts!

There is a M240i that's been rolling roaded at 402bhp apparently. As been said in previous comments, M2 will be awesome. I'd still have the RS3 even though I'm currently sat in a BMW M140I 🙃

This is outstanding performance from a low powered engine the B58 against fully fledged RS3 and A45s, this engine really deserves to be crowned best inline. it manages to keep up in a drag and in roll it beat RS and A45..all in a heavy shell..Hope to see a drag between M240 v 2021 Supra...M2 would obviously trash the rivals
Pause at 5:23 and use the < and > keys to go frame by frame and you can see that RS3 dude literally let off the brakes at the EXACT SECOND the hands started coming down. You don't get any better than that!!
The BMW is rear-wheel biased, unlike the other two, so doesn't need a gimmick to drift. And without such a gimmick it clearly drifts better than the others that do.

Stock exhaust for the RS3 sounds so much better in the US. Emissions haven’t hit us that hard yet lol

That AMG driver must have had it in Comfort mode instead of Sport+ or Race for the drag.. no way should it be that far behind.
It was most likely in the correct mode they do a lot of these
And time 12,7s in CLA45s is very bad for this car. My A35sedan does 13,0s with 100Hp less, so something didnt work well with LC procedure on CLA.
The thing is it does make 421hp but very late and the 500nm window is also very late and narrow in the rev range. HP is not everything

It sounds good while driving , when stationary there is soft limiter.
If you wait until the warranty ends in 3 year you can install an aftermarket Milltek non-resonated exhaust and it will sound like a Lambo with half the cylinders
Also noise regulation to stop so much noise revving at standstill at lights etc
You just know , the M2 is going to be something else , the B/S 58 is just the pinnacle at the moment.

Totally. Really 50hp difference is only going to be seen top end. Lower down, the Mercedes is struggling with its weight. The RS3 for some reason always struggles and needs a remap to wake it up.
All in all though, can’t deny that BMW can just make a car that has a well connected engine, chassis and drivetrain. All working together it shaves seconds off. I still struggle to like them though for some reason.
Given the M240i is a rung down the model range vs the others that’s very impressive. Have the same brakes on my car and they stand up to abuse well - even has active brake ducts!
I love the performence coming out of Audi and BMW both are amazing brands producing comfort and luxury with a smack of performence

This is outstanding performance from a low powered engine the B58 against fully fledged RS3 and A45s, this engine really deserves to be crowned best inline. it manages to keep up in a drag and in roll it beat RS and A45..all in a heavy shell..Hope to see a drag between M240 v 2021 Supra...M2 would obviously trash the rivals

Entry level, lol. Seems you have no clue how good the B58 is. The only bigger step up is the S58. All the other engines before are junk compared with B58 if u consider performance, reliability and sound.
Bmw only equip M light models with B58, is not worthy for M models, as N54 or S55 was. So, the B58 position on bmw models is entry level.
