I have a Golf R 2016 model pre facelift with an ABT power package for like £2.200 and it has 380 bhp and 490nm torque. I'm pretty sure that my Golf is way more bang for your buck than this cars!
You can get a decent stage 3 kit for a golf r for about £5000 that'll give you 500bhp and you will ripe lambos, r8s and gtrs on the quartermile with it.

I wish they included APR Stage 1 or 2 Golf R as a 5th car just to see how a tuned Golf R compares - it would still be the cheapest option by far but it would be much closer.

(Aside from the DSG farts) with the right downpipe and exhaust system it actually sounds rowdy as shit. Basically, it's the same as slightly slightly tuned RS3 for less than half the price.

Especially considering that the base model is from 2015! (As well as the BMW M2 though) But also The BMW had some upgrades and the RS3 not even the sport exhaust which could increase power a little bit, and lacks probably some other upgrades as well.
The big loser is the BMW, if you will spend the guts of 80k on that you need your head looking at. My brother has an RS3, they are good cars although a bit overpriced. The car which is winner for me was the Golf, its not as good performance wise but for a little spend improvements could be made to close the gap. at half the price of the BMW I would rather have it, put 10k in engine mods.

In the real world traffic light GP, the older version, and the RS3 are way faster than my M2. It takes solid trust in one's driving ability and insurance to drive mine and keep up with mates anywhere except the track (destroys them) and dry twisty back roads (M2 is better on technical stuff thanks to RWD adjustability).
Impressed that the old Golf R didn't get completely embarrassed! Out of the 4 I'd trade my R for the Mercedes, personal preference. Needs an exhaust though!

This Audi RS3 gen is up for more or less 4 years and can still compete with the new M2 and Merc. Just wait for the next gen RS3 and then we will talk...same goes for Golf R.
Manos Oikonomou it is indeed a 2019 car, just like the RS3 is a 2019 car. But both are from the same generation. The M2 and RS3 are just different cars which were build with different mindset. The M2 is a real fun sportscar and the Audi is more of a fast allrounder. Both cars are great but I would choose the M2 over the RS3. Just for the fun factor.
It isnt surprising one bit. RWD cars will always have an advantage over AWD in rolling races in similar powered cars as there is less rolling resistance as it's only powering 2 wheels.
@@rampageashton only partly true in this case. The RS3 has a haldex AWD System which disengages the rear wheels at higher speeds. Same with the Golf R and I think the A45s has a similar system. They're all not fitted with a permanent AWD System
It has the biggest engine, 50% bigger than the A45S. So it doesn't sound surprising to me. In fact, I was disappointed to see that the A45 was able to keep up with the M2 in high speed, must be very frustrating for BMW owners.

@RyRy Richard The car has a carbon fibre boot lid and the carbon fibre bonnet not forgetting the some upgrade on the lite wheels. So to be fair tht does contribute to the performance of the M2 because of the weight reduction
The M2 Competition is a modern e46 M3. Its light, small, RWD, Manual, 3l I6 with much tuning capabilities. Easy 500hp on stock engine. And it looks like a litte M4.

In the real world traffic light GP, the older version, and the RS3 are way faster than my M2. It takes solid trust in one's driving ability and insurance to drive mine and keep up with mates anywhere except the track (destroys them) and dry twisty back roads (M2 is better on technical stuff thanks to RWD adjustability).

Manos Oikonomou it is indeed a 2019 car, just like the RS3 is a 2019 car. But both are from the same generation. The M2 and RS3 are just different cars which were build with different mindset. The M2 is a real fun sportscar and the Audi is more of a fast allrounder. Both cars are great but I would choose the M2 over the RS3. Just for the fun factor.

It is a well-known feature of all BMW cars. Clarkson said "If you can not beat the BMW in the first and second gear, you could never do"
It isnt surprising one bit. RWD cars will always have an advantage over AWD in rolling races in similar powered cars as there is less rolling resistance as it's only powering 2 wheels.
@@rampageashton only partly true in this case. The RS3 has a haldex AWD System which disengages the rear wheels at higher speeds. Same with the Golf R and I think the A45s has a similar system. They're all not fitted with a permanent AWD System
It has the biggest engine, 50% bigger than the A45S. So it doesn't sound surprising to me. In fact, I was disappointed to see that the A45 was able to keep up with the M2 in high speed, must be very frustrating for BMW owners.

The car has a carbon fibre boot lid and the carbon fibre bonnet not forgetting the some upgrade on the lite wheels. So to be fair tht does contribute to the performance of the M2 because of the weight reduction

The M2 Competition is a modern e46 M3. Its light, small, RWD, Manual, 3l I6 with much tuning capabilities. Easy 500hp on stock engine. And it looks like a litte M4.
