+Fivespeed 302 I feel the same way, however your average person doesn't seem to. Almost every time I have my bike out, someone nearly drives off the road or loses their shit in general when they see the bike. It doesn't really speak to me the way riding the bike does, but a lot of people are dumbfounded by it.
Thanks for the review. My 08 CBR 1000RR was stolen last week. It will most likely never be found so there’s a really good chance that I’m going to be put in a position to get a new bike. As of right now I could only afford a used bike in the 2015 range so this will help a lot when I start looking at for sale ads.

Schleberger not true, I love all motorcycles. If I can have fun on a chinese scooter I can have fun on anything. lol All of these liter bikes in this video are sick. I just have a particular fondness for Honda bikes because they are built so well and super reliable. I hate fixing bikes and Honda always keeps me riding. Alwayz talking about your fucking honda , we get it man ..i love hondas to , especialy the vfr1200 and Cbr's but man ..in every video you make publicity hahaha, you make good video but shut your mouth !!!
***** Not really sure what you mean, but I think you're asking how old they are....they're all 2015 model year, but some of them were all new updated this year and others haven't been updated in 5+ years, essentially.
Roberto Nobrega Just to be clear - I'm only talking about the 600 model, the 1000 is "old" in comparison to the other street bikes. But what do you want in a 600? Traction control, wheelie control, slide control, different modes? Come on - if it's for the street you don't really get into that zone. Even if you did, at this point you should be a good enough rider to know what you're doing. I personally don't see the point in wheelie control and different modes for a street bike. ABS is available on the CBR600RR and for me, that's the only really useful thing on the streets.
That CBR is so beautiful! And rides great on street, comfy, getting 45 mpg, you know it's going to be reliable and also no riding aids!!!! Which is great because you control the bike, your hands are the ABS, traction control, wheelie control, launch control. Also means less things to break
Flash tune the Kawi and I think this shootout would have played out alittle different. None the less the RSV4 is my personal favorite followed by the ZX10.
California, the state where this was filmed, has the strictest emission laws in the US. Also stock exhaust and fuel maps. Licensing in UK probably allows for Kawasaki to ship close to intended power. Just look at how gutted the RC213VS is in the US.
edmaluf because KTM officially ceased production of the RC8 for anything but closed course competition. Apparently KTM doesn't think people should be allowed to ride supersports on the streets. which is ironic because the 1290 Superduke puts out more horses and could probably outrun an RC8. Which really makes me mad because i am DYING for an RC8 with all the superduke electronic goodies. If it had them, it'd be a contender in the supersport class. And it'd be a threat to the street community with it's extremely adjustable chassis, bars, rear sets, seat, blah blah blah.
+david tuttle they did in 2013 I think, or it may have been another channel, either way, 2013 was the last year someone updated a 600 that being the ZX6R, and none are changing for 2016 and probably not even 2017, the 600 class may be dying as all the manufacturers are fighting in the 1000 class and the 300 class. I'm speaking about the big four though, Triumph and MV have different things to say if I'm not mistaken.
I really doubt they are actually if their current car line up is anything to go by. At least suzuki will be having a good go at it again in 2017. Honda just couldnt care less in my opinion
+mkgplastering Absolutely wrong. Firstly, the cbr 1000 is still selling. Secondly, Honda IS working on something fabulous. Never underestimate Japanese pride.
+Mickey Bauer 2017 will have a new Fireblade, rumors are that it will only get 15 more hp, but from the patents it seems they want to make it lighter and smaller, they're aiming more at handling rather than joining the HP wars.
I admit to being a Kawa guy through and through but if I were spending my own money today on a sports bike, it would have to be the S1000RR. It's been a beast right from its launch. Every time the competition raises its game to come close, BM just steps it up again ... awesome bike !
Well that's not a great test you got the best version of the ducati and the aprilla why not get the base model like you did for the kawasaki and yamaha? If your gonna use the aprilla rs4vf might as well use the yamaha r1m. Anyways if your watch all the effin shoot out vids on here they all say top 2 top get is aprilla and the r1. I think them two are the best sounding bikes but if money isn't an issue get the aprilla they hold their value
Motorcycle.com I sincerely appreciate and respect all the effort and professionalism offered in this review and video. However, if I had to nitpick wouldn't the performance have been more accurately measured if all of them used the same tires? If I do say so my self I do think the sensation on each bike would be quite different as well if all of them were on the same tires. Also a lap time for reference would've been nice. It is a "superbike" test after all. Nevertheless always some quality material and a joy to watch. Much appreciated.
+moomoodeadcow All bikes were on the same tires, Pirelli Supercorsas. We were unable to log lap times due to sound restrictions at Laguna; we'll go elsewhere next time so we can deliver lap times.
"The inline 4 sound plain" Frankly Im annoyed by this guy who makes sure to mention in EVERY video he doesn't like this high revving masterpieces, how the hell can you not like how this engines sound? and why are you presenting a sport bike shootout?...
For those who say nay on these new bikes with their Tech, basically saying the power is pointless with RiderAids, I say to you, With Manufactures making these bikes and pushing the limits, don't make these for themselves, they make them for Us, and we as the motorcycle enthusiast we are a demanding group with High Expectations from the Pairs of Wheels we love to ride, they only put theses out because they know there's a market out there for them, I would strongly guess they know a bit more about what the Majority would want then what "I" want by myself.
+George Montes Yep. Try one of these modern bikes on a race track and you'll probably be amazed, not only do they outhandle bikes from a few years ago, they let you USE all the power. Oh, some guys will tell you that they ride better with all the aids, but they aren't as consistent (and usually not truthful about it).
+666JL666 the thing doesn't deliver the power in a civilized way, the chassis is old, and the electronics outdated. why would you buy it if you want the best? get the BMW
So you include the expensive RSV4, S1000RR and the 1299 Panigale, but only the base model R1?? If the R1M was included, it would have whooped the Euro bikes.
Ooooooooooooohhhhhhhh now I know what you mean. Someone did a test on the Zero recently and claimed it had the geometry but the balance and power delivery was way off. I still think electric bikes have another decade before they catch up, if nothing for the battery tech to get better/smaller. It would be good to start including them in some shootouts to push their development, but they're not even close to these bikes yet.
Alex Johnson Alex, we weren't trucking these bikes to the shoot locations. As good as they are, the Mission and Lightning would not have been able to participate due to insufficient range.
15.4k for the base RSV4 is not bad at all...it'd be a tough call between that and the S1000RR, I think I'd go S1K at the end tho, cruise control and heated grips make awesome DD additions, also the computer on the S1000 is quite nice and easy.
+MrSlowestD16 As long as you don't mind being bored. Inlines just aren't exciting unless you are really beating on them, in my opinion. Give me a big twin or v4 any day.
Awesome on the track, but these bikes are torture on public roads where legal speeds are barely above engine idle (at least I can go through a few gears on my 675 STR). Keep in mind that the motorcycle license and car license are one and the same when you get the points loss letter from the Motor Vehicle dept. IMO the Kawasaki is the best all-around bike, including bang-for-the-buck, and the Yamaha will take care of the BMW on a twisty race course. Should be interesting what Honda will come up with in the future.
Thats kind of the point, none of us have. Past result from other journals have shown the Duc to be a track performer. It's a pain in the ass on the street, literally. Thanks for the reply.
This shouldn't have been called "the 2015 Superbike shoot out" it should have been called "the best consumer Superbike of 2015" and the BMW S1KRR wins that hands down. At its price point it has the best comfort, fuel economy, and versatility. But the only bike that can out do I is its street-bred brother in the S1KR even in price. To see which bike is bred for track success than look no further than between Yamaha, Aprilia, and Kawasaki.
What this boils down to is opinion. If you go to motorcycle news and see their reviews, they'll say the R1 has the BMW beat. I think it still just boils down to personal choice. With that said, the kawasaki with proper ECU setup can handle every bike here and for less money. Happy Riding
I think price wise vs upgrades, the ZX-10r comes out the best value for price, even with ABS. I have never been a ninja fan, but the current ZX10r is downright sexy. However, if i think i would still buy a CBR. 1, i'm not rich lol. two, i love the style of the bike and face. i've been riding standard bikes without ABS and TC for years, and really, i dont feel the definite urge to spend a few extra grand for them. Maybe when they're affordable and standard, sure. but for now, i don't have the money for any of the top bikes.
they didn't even test the r1 with its better model the r1m with the full electronic front suspension and upgraded rear shock which was one of the main complaints in this test
+ever All that needs done is a few things and your there in HP. Ecu flash, new exhaust, lighter battery, Get rid of that plate and lights with a tidy tail for your lights and plate. And you are there!! Mine is at 192.100 HP. The crossplane is a monster!! Also with all that you still saved alot of money. I like all bikes but when they get passed $16,000 they are not worth that kind of money. I got my r1 otd for $15289.99 Watch out dealers ar riping people off. Never pay sticker. Also never trade your bike in you will get fu****! Sell it out right. Ride safe!!!
i have no idea why thats happening, i am guessing it has to do with the laws ofc, but r1 is not the only bike with that issue. MT/FZ 09 2014-2016 models had different top speeds between US and Europe, in europe it was limited at 222km/h but in U.S. around 213km/h.
I'm buying a naked bike, Help me choose, Comment your voted bike down below 1) BMW S1000R 2) Suzuki GSX-S1000 3) Triumph Speed Triple 4) Aprillia Tuono V4 5) Ducati Monster S 6) MV Agusta Brutale 1090R (800 would do too) 7) Kawasaki Z1000 8) Honda CB1000R 9) Benelli TNT R Please help me out because in my country (India), if I buy a bike, I pay a price of 2 as the taxes on imported bikes here is 100% (Excluding VAT, Service Tax and Handling).
Hemant Somnathe I'd say avoid a liter bike because the Indian roads are too dangerous for that amount of power, if I were you I'd stick to something small, no larger than 300cc but at the end of the day it's your choice. Safe riding.
MR NOTATROLL Well, Idgaf about the indian roads not being safe, I know the taste of these roads, On how to ride on em, What to do and what to expect. Btw, the worldwide kind of dangerous is the indian kind of easy, Just give me a suggestion out of the ones I mentioned above, thanks!
why dose everyone say the new 2015 s1000rr is 183hp , its 199hp from the factory , thats why its able to win the drag races with ease , and launch control .....
+BlackOps300 199hp at the crank, 183hp at the back wheel. there is a significant loss trough the clutch, gearbox, final drive and such. and might also be that US trim is slightly less powerfull for emissions norms.
The same as the 1299 in this video. DC10 (their AMA rider) wasn't allowed to really ride the way he wanted at the track. The end score was based on consumer details like comfort, price, and versatility. Superleggera just means really light. Only world-class riders could exploit that advantage.
I don't understand why people are hating on the other bikes? They can all do the same thing that we get them for? And that's to impress chicks, and put a smile on your face. Lol
+ratt14thebests In *no* tests have I read that. Literally none. And I read magazines 5 days a week doing cardio exercise. Kills the time way better than TV.
maybe have you read USA magazines? Because here in europe the power of the r1 is the same of the RSV4 RF and in some cases is higher (only a few hp on the rear wheel but is higher)...
No. In fact #2 on the list of most powerful bikes from a recent UK article was the RSV4, whereas the R1 came in #10. This was measured power... #1 was the ZX-14R. The R1 put down 186whp, the RSV4 put down 198whp! See Visor Down for details.
+Vernon Buckner.... What bike is missing here? You can say it. The rc8 wasn't even included.. Lol keep thinking you know about bikes. If you were buying the new Aprilla rsv4 that would make more sense. Best of luck.
They compare base r1 with rsv4rf and panigale r and s1000rr which is equiped electronic suspension? Honestly the bmw is still a good money for the bike and I am not surprised that Honda is still a scooter.
The power and torque numbers they give are measured values. They do their measurements at the wheel. Manufacturer claims are based on measurements at the crank so they tend to be higher. Based on the UK Yamaha website, the Euro version of the R1 produces 200.0 PS (metric horsepower) at the crank. Converted to horsepower, that is 197.264 hp at the crank. To get some idea of what a Euro R1 might put to the wheel, look at what this test measured from the BMW, Aprilia, and Ducati. BMW gives a claim of 199 PS for the S1000RR, Aprilia gives a claim of 201 PS for the RSV4, and Ducati gives a claim of 205 PS for the 1299 all in the US market. The Euro-spec R1 does NOT make 199 hp at the wheel.
s1000rr or RSV4 RF was my two choices....I bought the BMW ....cruise control Australia and long boring bits made it for me. you can ride an hour to the twisties...then smash them without ending the day with crippling arm pump.
All of these bikes are winners, except Ducati. Ducati really needs German engineering with that stunning Italian styling. It just goes to prove, Italian engineers are arrogant and stubborn to listen to consumers... instead act like a offended, arrogant chef who has been asked by a customer for a pinch of salt.
Am I the only one that still enjoy an old school needle tach?
+kdu8004 You are not the only one.
All I would want with a regular tach is a bright red indicator telling me i'm at redline, that's about it.
Just like my RSV4 RF. :D
Sweet bike. I demo'd it years ago. I fell in love but my wallet did not.
+kdu8004 Yup still like the needle tac/speed lcd combo. Like my rsv4r.
The RSV4 is still my favourite and the the BMW. Great shoot out btw
snakerb Same.
Same...in fact I now have to get the new Tuono RR...it scared me. 😍

Thanks for the review. My 08 CBR 1000RR was stolen last week. It will most likely never be found so there’s a really good chance that I’m going to be put in a position to get a new bike. Honda really needs to upgrade the 600rr and 1000rr

Put cruise control and heated grips on the Aprila.... Perfect bike (in my opinion).
why was zx10r power so low? are they restricted over there? here in uk they make more

What did the drone hit?
Mission RS and Lightning motorcycles should definitely be in the mix...
Alex Johnson Who? And why?
Because they are electric production super bikes and they compete with all of these bikes in terms of performance.

It hit the ground
where are the track results???
It's really interesting [ideo He}a. protect obscene What's your opinion about it
Aand once again, the king wins!!! BMW for life!!
Do you guys test up at Silverwood lake in California? Off the 15 north and 138? I think i recognize that road.

great compare top six super sports bike just outstanding

bmw s1000rr, aprilia rsv4 rr and yamaha yzf r1m are the best sportbikes in 2015

Why mv agusta f4 isn't included?? Is it not a 2015 bike??
+Muhammad Ashraff We gave MV a couple of months to round up an F4 for our testing, but they were unable to do so.
Anyone reading this will probably never reach the full potential of any of these bikes anyway... they are all good!
What about MV Agusta F4?
Where is the Suzuki gsxr 1000?
Cannot wait to pick up my s1000rr next month
Please tell me .... EVERYTHING about it
King_Fuzzy_Nutz I'll be posting a video in a few weeks buts most likely making a new RUclips account
When you make it tell me I'll sub ( I love the bmw s1000rr ) it's my dream bike
+Matt S1k Congrats!
Where is the R1M?
where is the suzuki???
What this boils down to is opinion. If you go to motorcycle news and see their reviews, they'll say the R1 has the BMW beat. I think it still just boils down to personal choice. With that said, the kawasaki with proper ECU setup can handle every bike here and for less money. Happy Riding
Only way the new R1 would really be ahead of the polls is to take the RSV4 out. Aprilia....FTW!!!!!
Maybe when they're affordable and standard, sure. but for now, i don't have the money for any of the top bikes.
they didn't even test the r1 with its better model the r1m with the full electronic front suspension and upgraded rear shock which was one of the main complaints in this test
this test is totally missing the kawasaki ninja h2(r) and the ktm rc8 :/
No Suzuki?
Germany and Europe R1 makes 180+hp while fucking America R1 makes 160+hp smh
Every R1 in the U.S has way lower hp than this here in Europe. Can you explein why it is like this about Yamaha in U.S ?
i have no idea why thats happening, i am guessing it has to do with the laws ofc, but r1 is not the only bike with that issue. MT/FZ 09 2014-2016 models had different top speeds between US and Europe, in europe it was limited at 222km/h but in U.S. around 213km/h.
ducati doesn't need fancy colors to catch the attention, just beautifull because of its lines!!
+DUCzillaMonster may not be the fastest. May not sound the best. But it's the bike that made me feel most special.
I'm buying a naked bike, Help me choose, Comment your voted bike down below
1) BMW S1000R
2) Suzuki GSX-S1000
3) Triumph Speed Triple
4) Aprillia Tuono V4
5) Ducati Monster S
6) MV Agusta Brutale 1090R (800 would do too)
7) Kawasaki Z1000
8) Honda CB1000R
9) Benelli TNT R
Please help me out because in my country (India), if I buy a bike, I pay a price of 2 as the taxes on imported bikes here is 100% (Excluding VAT, Service Tax and Handling).
Get a GROM bro
Not available in India
Zx10r or s1000rr
Hemant Somnathe I'd say avoid a liter bike because the Indian roads are too dangerous for that amount of power, if I were you I'd stick to something small, no larger than 300cc but at the end of the day it's your choice.
Safe riding.
MR NOTATROLL Well, Idgaf about the indian roads not being safe, I know the taste of these roads, On how to ride on em, What to do and what to expect. Btw, the worldwide kind of dangerous is the indian kind of easy, Just give me a suggestion out of the ones I mentioned above, thanks!
Why No Suzuki GSXR
Please get your hands on a z800 soon
why dose everyone say the new 2015 s1000rr is 183hp , its 199hp from the factory , thats why its able to win the drag races with ease , and launch control .....
+BlackOps300 199hp at the crank, 183hp at the back wheel. there is a significant loss trough the clutch, gearbox, final drive and such. and might also be that US trim is slightly less powerfull for emissions norms.
Damn now I really can't wait to get back from deployment. My BMW is waiting in a crate at the dealership, brand spanking new! 30 more days...
does R1 in usa have less power than the european??
+phoenix1925 Yes. The Euro R1 packs close to 175RWHP
S1K without a doubt. Now only if I could find the difference between Japanese spec and U.S. Spec Beemers I'd get one
Thanks!Awesome!
I wonder how the superleggera would stack up with 192 to the wheels...
The same as the 1299 in this video. DC10 (their AMA rider) wasn't allowed to really ride the way he wanted at the track. The end score was based on consumer details like comfort, price, and versatility. Superleggera just means really light. Only world-class riders could exploit that advantage.
very realistic review guys bmw is better than r1 every where
I don't understand why people are hating on the other bikes? They can all do the same thing that we get them for? And that's to impress chicks, and put a smile on your face. Lol
WHERE IS H2?
in every comparative i've read the r1 had the same power of the rsv4 rf...
+ratt14thebests Not in America it doesn't. Not in street-legal trim, anyway.
because of law about emissions?
BMW marketing is doing their jobs well in sponsoring reviews and actions movies.
I like the R1 and BMW bikes.
Doesn't MV Agusta have a superbike that could rival any of these?
why no H2?
Seng Ngang Becasue if goes into the Formula Ultra class not the 1000cc supersport class.
any one know why the EBR wasn't in this?
simply because it's can't compete. lack in some things and outclass
oh lol
Put the gsx-s1000 to the test. Please
Where's the gsxr
timwdv Suzuki declined to enter the competition. Rumor is the're coming out with a new GSXR for the 2016 model year.
they did not include it, because it's not new for this year. they should have yhriwn it in the mix still IMHO just to see how it compares
+Hoosier Throttle mid 2016 as a 2017 model, Honda as well a 2017 but still not confirmed if it will be mid 2016.
+timwdv home
They compare base r1 with rsv4rf and panigale r and s1000rr which is equiped electronic suspension? Honestly the bmw is still a good money for the bike and I am not surprised that Honda is still a scooter.
the r1 is just superior on the track
so bad there r no MV- Agusta F4
Those bikes are trackbikes; trackkings for hobbyracers are zx10, pani and rsv4.. bemer first?😅...funny boys..keep on good work
MV Agusta?
Wait a minute..Doesn't the R1 make 194 or so bhp? Why'd he say 160?
+Hamudy Betam Dayum that sounds orgasmic lol. Thanks for replying tho :)
EU R1M is faster on top end than 2015 S1000 RR
No surprises here.
s1000rr or RSV4 RF was my two choices....I bought the BMW
....cruise control Australia and long boring bits made it for me. you can ride an hour to the twisties...then smash them without ending the day with crippling arm pump.
Where's the triumphs
that left handle bar on the rsv4 looks like the right handle bar on my ex500 after it slide down the highway after i hit a deer 3 weeks ago lol
Ouch are you doing alright?
oh yeah. broken finger and had some road rash and some sprains. still healing but i could get back on a bike right now if i had the money
That sucks I hope everything works out for you
James W :(
probably will be awhile till i get another bike because i dont have the money for a new one right now
where's the Gixxer
According to this my 2014 r1 makes more power to the wheel than a 2015 r1m
All of these bikes are winners, except Ducati. Ducati really needs German engineering with that stunning Italian styling. It just goes to prove, Italian engineers are arrogant and stubborn to listen to consumers... instead act like a offended, arrogant chef who has been asked by a customer for a pinch of salt.
looks to me you ridden many ducati's
Sergey Suckmeoff Only 2..
question is that Ducati know-how in moto-area is better than ANY "Vag engineer".
Ciao.
LoL. You don't own a Ducati bro. You are 12.
