A track day would be nice, with lap times .
I’ve been wondering when you were going to talk about all these bikes slowly reproducing in the background! 😂
"Slowly reproducing" 💀
Brother even didn’t tell us about him doing track days, has whole separate life we don’t know 😂❤
Missed Gareth on your channels Alex. Brings back old vibes of just the 2 of you rebuilding cars on car throttle.
On a driveway. Hug of successful engine start in the middle of the night
A track day video would be nice with Alex, Gareth and Taylor!!
Meh, public road motovlogs are easier to watch and almost always more entertaining.
Disagree on Taylor, don’t think he’d be able to bring much to the party.
@@BeanzOnBread they dont owe you anything, mad how entitled people are. Not interested? Dont watch
@@BeanzOnBread do love how much I am under your skin, worthless mug 😘
@@bigduphusaj162 lmao, touched a nerve. Not reading that yah sad goon. Have a good evening fella. Dont like dont watch👌
A budget bike battle with Alex, Gareth and the guys at 44teeth would be epic
14:32 the look on his face is so priceless 😂😂😂
I'd love to see you ride those mopeds as far as they could go lol aim for Poland!
You mentioned the 748 not being ULEZ compliant, which is true. The fireblade isn’t either according to the system. But you can apply to Honda (for free) and get the CoC. My fireblade an ‘05 (but same as yours) is now compliant. Oh and mine is genuine repsol 😂 no red wheels for me!
You have to do a road trip to Poland now lads😂 would love to see track content, road trips and any tinkering! Love motorbikes. Keep up the great work!
Finally more bike content!!!! I have been itching for this since the first cheap bike video…. Please finish that series even if it’s only on V2 I understand it might not do well on the main channel but more bike content is needed on RUclips 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hi Alex, I don't recommend changing loads of parts on the Suzuki because it might get really expensive really quickly.
Gareth mentioned the secondary butterflies: there is a motor(which operates the secondary valves) which is sealed with rivets (needs to be drilled off). There are solder which sometimes crack and they loose contact.
It's really easy fix and I have done it on my friends K4 600. I really recommend to check it out first before touching anything else!
This is the usual Gixxer coil and plugs worn issues. They must not have been doing bikes for long if they dont realise this. Stick on coil and plug issue
@@TalksportWokistWomblesyes sir
@@TalksportWokistWombles I would check the resistance of the coils that they are in spec before changing anything
Could also be the rectifier not working probably when hot.
The 748 is the most beautiful bike ever made, absolutely perfect
Click like if you want alex to ride to Poland lol
As a SC57 Fireblade owner myself, i love them for their insane reliabelity and the under seat exhaust 🥰 I ride mine to uni from time to time and its pretty comfy for its performance.
I've had too many crashes in the time of a year and a half....my 2 major ones is when a stationary range rover pulled out of standstill traffic and I smashed into him a 40mph (all I got was severe muscle damage to my legs and back but I'm walking ok) and then 4 months later I got t boned by a golf coming out a side road but luckily the motorcycle was repairable this time...I love my 2019 Honda Super Cub C125....and all without an airbag jacket, and there's no big deal about how far can you get on a moped... I went to Scotland from Rugby on my honda Super Cub c125
So glad to see more bike content. You're the presenters we need in the automotive community. Absolutely brilliant.
Keep making brilliant content
Nice chemistry here , too much crazy silliness detracts from the good content you usually create , keep up the informative light hearted tone it's amazing
I always love when you and Gareth get together, and I love it when you start to go on about motorcycles. Please can you make more content on it?
There is a youtuber that stuck a Ducati engine on a gocart. They amusingly called it the Ducarti
Been looking forward to this video! As many have said, the bikes always pop up in the regular videos so it's great to know a bit more about them. Definitely get some more bike content in there 🏍️
Looking forward to the Poland BIKE TRIP, YES PLS....
what’s the poland joke
I love you boys and absolutely ADORE motorbikes (I own 14 including 3 Ducatis, 3 Triumphs, a Bimota SB6R, a Benelli 1130 TreK, KTM Superduke and the remainder mad/classic Japanese stuff..... I'm also a track instructor here in Ireland (Alex, the back tyre on that sweet Gixxer 750 is shocking..... come talk to me next time you're in Ireland!) and you may even notice one or two motorcycle review videos on my own channel...... I really, REALLY do have a problem! 🤣), BUT......... BMW has never done anything in BSB or WSBK. Yep, they do great on the roads (Hicky is BEYOND legendary status!), but nope, in the bigger arenas, they are very much just grid fillers. Sorry, but as a multiple Ducati owner (and funnily enough, also 3 Yamahas and a track Kwacker ZX6R!), I cannot let you get away with saying that about a bleeding Beemer! 🤣
Dudes not got a clue 😂 is he new to bikes? That gixxer is the usual coils and plugs issue and the s1000rr is a junk bike with no pedigree whatsoever. The only success it had was at IOM because BMW failed on circuit with its poor build quality they had to offer it as a cheap package at the IOM with loads of aftercare. He must be confused the boy, watching to many American vids about bikes they know nothing about. BMW have the least race pedigree of any of the main bike manufacturers and hes making out they are some amazing race bikes hahahaha
@@TalksportWokistWombles what was he on about BMW being dominant in BSB and WSBK? they havent won nothing hahaha. This bmw fanboydom is becoming ridiculous now. Just straight up lying about BMWs success (lack of in this case)
I Love the bike content so please please please keep it coming! Rebuilds , service and maintenance videos, cleaning and protection. And off course riding them!! That’s what I would like to see 😎
get the ducati independently ULEZ tested, most bikes will actually go through the test. there are plenty of places doing them, and ive seen old 2 stroke bikes pass no problem
748/916s are such pretty bikes! They've stood the test of time perfectly.
17:39 i had mine for 9 years. Did 30k miles on it. Have ohlins and quickshifter on it. It’s got a short front so your arms aren’t out, much easier for longer runs.
Enjoyed this. Worth watching just for the 748 startup, let alone the rest.
Love the bike content, seeing as u and Gareth both have s1000rr,how about a trip to their birth place in Munich, taking in a lap at the ring, the b500 through the Black Forest and of course a high speed run on the autobahn, the catch is you have to carry all ur kit on the bikes, big Pete can only be used for filming from not as a support vehicle
This means you’ve a lot of decisions to be made about what bringing with you do you really need tools etc etc
Great to see more bikes!
If you want more bike content in the Midlands get in touch with Midlands Motorbikers and we will be more than happy to help!
And for crazy bike projects, The-Machine-Shop is the place to go 💪
I know this corner on Welsh Road near Southam, it's fun but very tricky :D
Maisie is the true star of the Auto Alex channels; some Maisie featuring merch please so we can show our devotion 🙏
Sounds like your track bike needs new coil packs and spark plugs, also Alex unless you're super fast get semi slicks you'll be faster and keep heat in the tyres better, and when I mean fast I mean you need to be in fast group and be over taking everyone and only having racers go past you to use slicks. 7:37 Alex man those strips on the tyre are huge!!! Show us if you've gotten your knee down yet, hey if you want an instructor for a day I'll be more than happy to come along just pay for me and lend me a bike as I've sold it all 😂
Creditals: ex racer and was a motorcycle mechanic for a while
agree on it likely being coils & plugs but slicks arent like that anymore. My battleaxe like the guy above mentioned heat up as fast as the roadgoing BXs
Also Aled is an absolute weapon of a driver so imagine he has that push on two wheels.
@@TheWorldListens Hes terrible on track so he is. Guy on this vid seen him at malory park said he was 50 pencing every bend
@TalksportWokistWombles Do you mean with steering inputs?
If so... that's the way f1 drivers are taught to corner. Breaks the corner up.
@TalksportWokistWombles gonna data on that, as I bet that semi slicks are better than slicks for novice to inter riders, as the tread moving stays warmer and stays warm, you generate heat via the tread moving slicks can't move as much, I mean you can see Alex isn't even using the while rear tyre those pussy strips are huge!!!
Alex and Gareth we need more motorbike content please. I’m driving down to the south of France in next fews weeks. If you are up for a long ride lzt me know.
My first big bike was the new Trident 660, not particularly fast but certainly good fun, with very dynamic frame. I then got a MK3 MX5, sold the 660 and potter around on a Meteor 350 - fun? Not so much, fast? Nope! Cheap? Hell yes!
Alex mate, I had the same issue on my K2 GSXR which turned out to be the fuel pump... Worked perfectly with full power until warm then not throttle/power. Might be worth looking into to see if that helps your issue?
Nice selection of bikes, but BMW have never dominated wsbk and BSB. They first got a big reputation when Michael Dunlop was smashing it at iomtt.
yesh BMW bikes are unreliable junkers. I worked for mottorad from 09 till 2019 and was disgusted with the blatant engineering mistakes and poor build quality. BMW age worse than any other bike. No joke a 20yr old R1 will likely be in better physical and mechanical shape, well defo better mechanical shape as its not full of engineering disasters like s1000rr. No idea why any biker would buy a BMW bike out of warranty given their diabolical reputation for going bang
more people need to tell them to stop it with the BMW hyping. S1000rr was a crap race bike its a road bike nothing else. IOM proved this
Great to see you two back together. I want to take my triumph sprint st over to the continent in the summer. Where would you recommend going?
A 748/916/996 ect has been top of my bucket list since the late 90s when I first really got seriously into bikes. I've owned quicker and newer stuff(a '17 RSV4 RF which was my daily even in the winter, was still comfier and easier going than the GSXR600 I had before that) but they still look and sound amazing.
I would be looking at crank position sensor as it’s had a tumble and probably had cases replaced at some point, ensure it has the right spacers fitted so the air gap is correct, seen this a few times with track bikes
its the usual coil & plug issue with them😂 they are known for doing exactly this when they go. They dont seem to know much about the bikes they buy. I mean they claimed s1000rr dominated bsb and wsb 😂 What the hell is that all about? junk s1000rr never dominated anything bar the MCN front page and the sales chart for about one summer back when it came out 😂 They need to get their facts straight
Loving the camaraderie between the two of you. Definitely do the challenge of riding somewhere on the free mopeds. Whatever you do we’ll be here
I did think ‘where did those bikes come from??’ Nice to see you your channel!
Tell Gareth he should start his own channel dedicated to riding, but also builds or just general fixing. I watch The Bearded Mechanic here in the states and his content is fantastic. Would love to see something similar if Gareth was interested in doing something like that.
he hasnt got a clue though. He cant even figure out duff coils and he thinks s1000rr was a successful race bike🤣 it got tonked in bsb and wsbk for fun by Yamaha and Ducati
Definitely love to see some motorbike track day videos, maybe on this channel. Great content as always guys 👌
I'm not a bike guy but I love the bike content. That Ducati is a work of art. I don't even ride and I still want one just to look at it. Not surprised to hear it doesn't like going slow. I've seen a few in traffic and they've all looked leery AF at low speeds!
Moped Adventure sounds amazing
digging the bike content, thanks
Definitely more bike stuff guys. Trackdays, road trips and rebuilds would be great!
Don’t know about everyone else but me personally I’d love to see some top gear style challenges on bikes and with like low / medium budget with challenges.
However I wouldn’t change Alex’s channel for the world as for me it has filled the hole that top gear left. Best of luck guys
Gareth needs a channel. Would love to see build projects there!
AG1 helped Alex concentrate - yeah, right :D
As a biker who has been watching this channel since Alex left car throttle I’m so happy he is bringing more bike content threw to us
not really, not if hes coming out with false stuff like BMW dominating any sort of racing. BMW have NEVER dominated any BSB or WSB and ive no idea where they got that from 😂 S1000rr is a junk bike.
It’s nice to see Gareth on the channel, love his work on project Zeus 🚗
I love bike content, Iv got 125 and a 250 and a 500 2 stroke ❤❤❤
500 2t is mental, I love it
what 500 mate? id have thought youd have told us what one
I know nothing about bikes but whatcing tow guys talking with such great passion is really something...
Love the bikes! Especially the ducati! Loved taking photos of both ducati's at Caffine and Machine 👌 would love to get some more !
I'm 31 and can't ride a bike, let alone a motorcycle. It's nice to see how passionate you guys are for things that go vroom 😊
We need a video of you two teaching Taylor and Rory how to ride
We definitely need more bike vids, builds and of course a trip to Poland on the peds is a must 😂😂
As a recovering car guy, I've witnessed modern cars slowly losing their soul. They've become disconnected. One layer removed from the human. That to me takes much of the joy out of driving.
Bikes still have that though, at least for now. You can still walk into a dealers' and buy a bike with a cable throttle, for example, and no rider assists other than basic traction control & ABS. The sad reality is that over-reliance on electronics is slowly creeping its way into this market too, starting with the top performance models.
Granted, without ride-by-wire (and the associated bells & whistles), a 200+ bhp superbike would be absolutely lethal to a rider who hasn't developed the requisite finesse, and I get that "git gud" doesn't make for stellar PR when a significant fraction of your customers whisky-throttle themselves into oblivion, but I would have appreciated at least having the option of a cable throttle for those of us who don't want to lose that direct connection.
Doesn't help that professional opinion-havers get very easily swayed by shiny things. They're all over this tech craze, sleepwalking the entire industry into becoming little more than an extension to the car market, and in the process destroying something very special.
More bike content please its amazing!
Nice bikes!!
Would be really cool if you could do some content of starting off on bike track days. Ideally starting off from preparing the bike and kit you need personally. Then what it's like on an actual day on the track.
I bought an R6 for the track this year so would be really helpful!
Great watching your stuff and keep up the good content!
I was thinking exactly the same! Good plan !
I know the guys at Alf England and live a minute from them. Happy to drag my bike out for a video (newly passed biker).
Finally some bike content! Cheers lads!
So happy to see bikes on the channel! I hate to admit that I agree with Rory though, the blade is the one for me. I hope we see more soon.
Gareth is amazing, need more of him, proper petrol nut!!
proper petrol nuts dont buy BMWs mate. Car or bike.
Under the switchgear on the throttle side there should be a button that raises the idle for cold starts, so it'll tickover without having to blip the throttle on the 748.
they are new to bikes. Can tell too with the claim they made that s1000rr dominated BSB and WSB when in reality it got tonked and BMWs only success was at the IOM for a short period as BMW offloaded all the race chassis that nobody bought as the chassis was wooden when you turned the assists off.
since the dawn of the 27th April 2023, I have been praying to the gods that Sir Alex 'Auto' Kersten will at some point release his £500 budget bike challenge, Part 2!
Now i miss my 748. Thanks Alex. Also i was told by my mechanic to let the engine of the 748 when you start it, just to let it idle for 5minutes before giving it any throttle... because Ducati.
You can get it ulez tested and then it will be exempt I did it with my zx9r as I live in London it costs about £170
I live in Devon UK, got myself a aprilia tuono v4r, Gen 3 zx10r, gen 2 zx12r, and a Triumph TT600! Love my bikes, I use them daily too lol. Your bikes definitely need a clean lol
Yes please, road trips for days, gonna make fantastic content!
Great to see some bike content!!
:) nice bikes. The weather in the UK is usually quite shit but I'm impressed u guys still consider riding bikes. I'd love to see more!
Michelin tyres are the secret to survival here.
Good to see Gareth on the channel - a proper bloke.
The moped challenge sounds great. Take them over the Alps!
Real keen on the moped video! Especially if they're 2 stroke mopeds 😁
90’s Ducati’s are of a different class. My cousin had a 916 which was awesome. I never went on it with him but it sounded epic.
I have been in love with that Ducati and its big brother the 916 since 1996 or so. THE prettiest sportbikes ever made.
Great to see some bike content 👍
Hey Alex check on the stator and rectifier on the gsxr. my 06 has the same issue. if the bike gets extremely hot it will fry the wiring connectors. :) seems to be the only thing wrong with my gixxer though. been reliable everywhere else!
If you like The sound and vibration from the Ducati, you have to try a Buell xb12 (2007 modell has a perfect pitch👌)
Please do a 748 video together!! That sound is *chefs kiss*
Hard to beat an almost Matrix Reloaded rumbly hammer cycle!
A questions for all the boys - what's your perspectives on cruiser and dual sport motorcycles? Would be brilliant to see a roadtrip or some green laning stuff with them.
Track days, a little tour or two and some small builds would be lovely. Also maybe try out some different styles of bike.
More bike related content please!! I want a bike so much but family and holidays take all my budget!
So once they’re sold I really want my bike license
This is more my kinda thing. Although I'm interested in the car stuff because I'm mechanic working as an Audi Tech, I have a 2019 Aprilia RSV4 RF and the bikes are definitely my biggest passion. I would like to see more of this
Can't say personally that I'm a huge fan of sports bikes, I never got my licence to ride fast. I'm deffinetly more of a cruiser. My bike is a Royal Enfield Meteor 350 it sounds great and is just fantastic for commuting, and those sunday rides into the british countryside. However, having watched this, I am tempted into the sports catogary a little. I might do an experience day on a track bike and see if it's for me. Great video as always
Yes! All the bike trips!!
Love the bike content, keep it coming ❤
Really like the bike videos keep them coming!
Definitely need to see alex and crew on a long road trip on bikes/scooters
About time we hit a look at the bikes. More please!!
How far can you go on a free scooter??
Love seeing Gareth in a video, need more Gareth content for sure 👍🏻
I used to own a rr6 Fireblade - daily rode it and it never missed a beat. Would do well over 70mph in first gear, but also pull from standstill in 3rd and would ride like a twist and go scooter in town. Still miss it.
You guys need to pop over to France to the Mangy Course Race track!! That would be a good couple of days' worth of riding for you both and a good chance to give a review on speed, fuel, comfort etc and maybe set a challenge or 2. If my 2023 Royal-enfield super meteor 650 can do it you guys can as well. Ps mine did 210 miles to the tank riding between 70 and 90mph over there.
Cool video. Even though II swore off bikes in the 90s. Rode my friends CBR 900. He said I was doing power wheelies in 2nd and 3rd. I gave him the keys back and said, "Don't even let me ride it again. I had no idea I was doing power wheelies."
I'm not actually a bike person but being somewhat curious about them, this is quite interesting content and your trip to the Isle of Man was cool so yeah why not a roadtrip video with Alex and Gareth 😁
More Bikes please! Love this content!
The 748 isn't just the best bike there, it's the best bike there ever was. I had a 748R. Nothing beats changing down just for the sound in the tunnel between Meon Hut and Petersfield on the A272. Gear changes for the sound and no other reason.
@@bigduphusaj162 it's a matter of taste... there's no comparison. Ducati keys on show... yamaha keys kidden where people won't see them.. vtwin growl versus whiny Japanese 4 pot noise?
There is no ECU issue on the GSXR, otherwise it would have permanent power problems. Instead, I think it's the fuel pump which overheats after some time. A friend with a Hayabusa had the same problem and found out after putting the bike on a Dyno. Good luck with that!
Hi Alex, you mention that your Duke is not ULEZ, take it to Stinkwheels in Noak Hill Essex, £175 and it will be compliant, took my gen 1 Busa passed no problem.
A video about the costs and effort involved in track days would be good, obviously auto Alex style so completely off the cuff 😂
Thank you 🙏 some bike content at last 😊. Love your Ducati 748, GSXR is nice too, and Gareth's Honda is superb. BMW .....nah, you can leave that one out in the rain 🌧️😅
