Aprilia have the most wins because 9 out of 10, 125 and 250 bikes were aprilias. They'd have a bloody tough job on their hands to NOT win... Whereas in the litre bike world aprilias did nothing.. and never will.
To be totally fair, if you owned any of these bikes you wouldn’t be disappointed. I know the average rider that will afford these won’t be a top racer, but a middle aged bloke who struggles to fit in the leathers that he bought last season. Saying that i do love these tests and he did keep stressing that this was an ultimate sports bike track test and its nice having the bragging rights in the pub without the chance of wrecking your dream bike in the process. Ill take any please, but ill be happier with the RSV4 just on the strength of this test 😁😁👍👍
I now own a CBR1000RR SP1 and I am as in love i could be with any of the other bikes here listed, actually prefer the sp for being sooo light and nimble and so so beautiful. Great video, guys!
Went to the dealership to check out the new super duke and decided to keep my 17 Tuono. It is not as comfy or 2 up friendly but I just didn't "Feel" it when I am on the Duke. Really loved the RSV4 but Tuono's ergo was like the best compromise a person can make when it comes to going fast and staying comfortable.
ZX10rjet can’t say it does Have a 18 RF No repairs yet, no recalls No nothing And if it gives me issues I have the full warranty Oh and if I decide to sell because it has issues I’ll get.. let’s say how much in return?? How much will the ninja get? I’m guessing stereotypical ninja with the loud pipe snapped off the rev limiter and all top end squid mode engaged? I’m thinking the return will be less than my ARAI helmet?
Nice video. For me I got the BMW as for me its the best all around bike out there. The bonus of the heated grips and cruise control is awesome thing to have on a sports bike! For me the quick shifter works flawless as long as you do your part. The throttle must be closed to shift down, you do that each and every time and everything is perfect, never had any issue shifting up as long as you are not being lazy with the shifter. Awesome machine
Such an awesome array of great bikes. We are really spoilt for choice. That RSV4 is sublime. As an ex-RSV4 owner its a bloody great bike. Ex because I was only using it for CBD travel. Mental. Seriously, if you wanted a V4 you'd be nuts...nuts I say to go past the Aprilia. That R1 is special. Great to see Suzuki come back hard & fast. Wow.
Excellent professional review. That's why i love fast bike magazine for years. And the best of 12 months are SBOTY edition. Even though it is more expensive here (Malaysia) because currency change, it really worth. Thank you for bridgestone and R&G for supporting the events. I also bridgestone user for almost 9 years for my bikes. They keep upgrade the tyre and i can tell you the different between their version. I also put R&G protector to my bikes because they are nicely design.
Jesus the comments would make your brain bleed. These aren’t moto gp bikes or world superbikes and different tracks highlight different things. Great review and balanced opinions. At least mentioning issues that tend to get ignored in other places
Exodus 20:7 (KJV) Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. How would you like it if I used Bruce Wayne as a cuss word every day? Just saying, think about it.
9:18 exactly!!! That's what guy martin faced in 2017 isle of man TT the fireblade has a huge neutral problem but after i saw the 2021 fireblade I think they slayed the competition
Great comparison! Even though I've moved on to super nakeds, I'm still always keen to see how the manufacturers are pushing the envelope at the sharp end of the stick. Considering how much the BMW moved the game on when they launched the S 1000 RR, I can't wait to see what they do next. They've certainly never been shy about throwing all the latest technology (with a matching tome of acronyms) at their bikes.
Agree. The rsvr is everything!! A lot of people don’t know yet, how exciting is to ride that special v4 engine. You have to get your hands on one. Then you will feel it.
Loads of other info, laptimes, speeds, more in-depth analysis of each of the bikes and why they finished where they did is in the magazine. Link in the description above if you're interested!
I'd rather have a handle-bar clad naked bike racing category. 1290 SDR is miles more fun in every motorcycle use-case than any racetrack focused razor.
James Arendell about a 40min. Drive for me. Could be double that and I still wouldn't hesitate. I went with the Tuono and it's such a good bike I'd happily drive 2hrs if needed. 9k miles and haven't had an issue so far.
The MV AGUSTA F4 is a terrible bike. The MV AGUSTA F3 is a better bike and you saw how it did. The best bike is the BMW hands down. Much better than the Aprilia RSV4 and Ducati. I've owned and tracked most of these bikes.
Midnight Yes I rode my friends F4. He bought one and sold it after 2 months. Plus the brand comes and goes with different owners and financial problems. The best bike is the bmw, or Aprilia. Ducati and Kawi isn’t bad either.
This review is spot on. The Ape is the only bike that comes race ready out of the box. The R1 is crap until you set the brakes and ECU and suspension. The bmw is also a great bike, it just takes so much physically effort to ride it fast. The ape requires zero energy to go fast. I've owned both.
love this review, well done FB - it's sent people into spasms ! LOL Funny as I reckon half the comments are from people who don't even ride a sports bike ! Bikes are very different on road to how they are on track, simple as that, on track you really get to feel the individual characters, good & bad. As a natural piss-taker it's really hard to not wind them all up :-) Can I come on the next one please? I'll bring my own bikes !
sometimes stupid people do not know they are stupid, like that comment right ? putting an 800cc vs 1000cc and crying about lack of power while ignoring that the F4 exists
I thought the same thing but this test was conducted in 2018, and according to my research that was the last year of F4 production. They only made 100 bikes and they sold for $83,000 each. They should have included it, but the exclusivity and everything may have made it impossible.
Man, they really push the bikes. What an awesome review ! In fact, I never hear any of those flaws on the bikes from any other reviewer... Apart from the Kawasaki, its always been big and the power is on top
Tells you a lot when long time and evolved models stay on top. It's not easy to nail it on the 1st gen model, and subsequent updates can make a big difference. Plus you get rid of all the 1st gen gremlins, recalls, little issues etc.
Bingo! Some would say never buy anything first gen', as in anything (like one of us did with a silly expensive laptop a couple of years ago - headslap...). That being said, quite often a bike is knocked out of the park at the first attempt dynamically speaking. But evolution of something that's already brilliant? Can't go wrong!
PrimiusLovin it will shame cars up to 1/2M and hang with 1M+ cars in many ways except for top speed. That’s why superbikes (1000s or larger)are king for the $$$.. but you increase your risk of dying by only a few thousand %😂😂
unfortunately not true with an average driver/rider most of the time on tracks or on road a modern hot hatches will be faster, bikes are harder to ride fast (getting easier with the electronics though) but with a good rider a bike would be quicker on the average track,
Perhaps, but I'm going to give you an obvious example of how ridiculous the price/performance difference can get between motorcycles and cars, e.g @ - Pikes Peak Hill Climb: A 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport, a fairly expensive race car, is 1.5 seconds faster than... get ready for it, "a 2009 Aprilia SXV450"!!
an example how a factory race bike prepared specifically to go up pike peak with a cost of about 100k originally and a 75k road car, this year a 2.5 tonne standard Bentley SUV was only 58 sec slower than the record holding factory prep KTM, there are no real straight forward comparisons between cars and bikes and cost,
Tyres were the right size for the Panigale, and the bike (like the Aprilia) has a tyre calibration system which mates it to the electronics - tyres have to be the same on all bikes for a fair assessment, given the wide range of performance from OE hoops.
Must say, stacks more info on this test in the magazine, lap times, speeds, more detail and analysis etc, link to it in the description above if you're interested.
There are rumours aboug a nev MV Agusta F4 in 2020. Looking forward to see it and read reviews. I have a tuned up 1078rr today (2008, 180hk on rear wheel) with SIL racing exh. Realy fast and just love it. Made 30k km in 3 years. Perfect bike for a 62 yo speed junkie😊👍
I have the tuono factory v4 and I love it. For track days I feel so confident on it. I only loose out on the straights to the sport bikes. Cornering and breaking is excellent. And theres the sound of course 👌 I would like the rsv4 but not sure if I’d like it as a daily on the road
What a weapon of bike you have! There's actually a test of that versus the new Speed Triple RS in the same SBOTY issue, link in the description if you've any interest in that.
H2 has been in before a couple of years back (it didn't do too bad either), but it's not an out and out superbike. HP4 (the Race we're assuming) is too expensive, we try and keep things at least somewhere sensible when it comes to the bikes involved.
Fast Bikes Magazine, I must admit I confused the HP4 with the previous HP road legal, and no longer available. Not sure when they stopped making the HP possibly a couple of years or so.
Man I can't afford any of these bikes but the standards are so high it would be hard to pick one. Great review guys, it sure is nice to see all these bikes together!
False neutrals are a design flaw of sequential motorcycle gearboxes across the board. If you dont understand look up how they work, it's a bit hard to explain through a comment but It's when the dogs are stuck in between the gears and dont engage into either. If they were any longer that means that two gears could be engaged at the same time... that means big boom boom. This isnt a Honda problem, some bikes just require more persuasion to get into gear, which is actually a sign of a strong gear box in a motorcycle. These riders were just going trying to go so fast that they werent pushing it all the way into gear. If it was your bike and you rode it for a few days you would get the hang of it. I have an older bike that was bad about false neutrals, and it's a simple fix. PUSH THE GEAR LEVER HARDER. Also, it becomes less common as the gear box breaks in and all the tolerances mate up nicely. Brand new engines dont run as well as an engine that's broken in, believe it or not.
They shouldn't, it's an incredible next generation weapon (and one hell of a road bike), it's just there are other bikes that are easier to ride fast, simples!
Ducati 1199 Panigale S here. This was total crap! Totally unfair biased bs. Bahwafugah fookishima atwatah... Did you mean crazy like that? I was surprised to see the V4 that far from first but it didn't bother me. I want that RSV4 bad! I'd buy it even if it was in last place. I mean obviously since I ride on top of a furnace with 170 hp I call the bucking bronco.
It’s a bike for show and looks. They are a lot of work to ride hard on the track. Virtually no amateur [not factory supported] racers ride any generation of Panigale.
The REAL question is which is the best on the street, the place most of us use them is out on the road not on a course and most have never even seen a course. Good review to a certain extent.
Suzuki needs to bring down their learnings from MotoGP and give their GSXR 1000 production bike a crossplane engine just like Yamaha did with their R1.
I can only agree with the ZX-10R low end lacking. Flashing the ECU helps tremendously ! Of course, they're comparing stock bikes here which is perfectly fine too.
So, in summary: buy the GSX-R1000R. It's the third best on track in this test and by far the best on the road and the best to own (it's the most comfortable in terms or ergos and the least expensive). The BMW is at the end of its production cycle and it's too heavy; the Aprilia is unbelievably uncomfortable on the road and unreliable.
6 foot 2" here, and have toured on an RSV in complete comfort, and it didn't break down! Also ran one for six months commuting through winter a couple of years back, no problems there either. It's a far better road bike than many would credit it being. The Gixer is though, as you say, a brilliant machine all round, only missing two of the BMW's creature comforts to make it completely perfect.
Who told you the RSV4 was uncomfortable. I'm on my second, and have put 23000 miles between them. I'm NEVER uncomfortable, though sometimes my brain is frazzled!
My brother owned one and I rode it quite a bit. He's in the military, I'm a triathlete, none of us could ride for more than 3 hours on that thing (we're both over 6ft tough...). Great looks and amazing sound, but shit ergos and embarrassing reliability.
Thanks for the vlog. It was interesting hearing the Honda comment about a box full of neutrals. I've had the same experience with a different bike and it really is annoying exaggerating your effort in gear changes but every cloud has a silver lining because my experience is that it goes away after the box has been run in a bit. I was more than surprised with the oggy knobs because I'd rather be replacing some casings and fairings instead of frames.
If you’re new to motorcycles and trying to decide what bike to get, take all this info with a grain of salt. This is just an opinion of a few ppl and sometimes they are biased. For example the Honda that came in 7th place was actually in number one place on MCN and on 44T when it went against the Ducati that was in last place here, the Ducati actually took win over it. and as far as the biased part, you’ll notice that the Aprilia is always at the top by any moto magazine. It’s like Alfa romeo for car guys.. might not be the best machine but i guess you will look cool if you like it..
Actually you'll find 44 said the same thing as us, the RSV is easier to go faster on and is generally faster over a lap. This test (SBOTY) was purely about dynamics, our usual tests take in all aspects but this one test per year, SBOTY, is different, and there's as much point comparing different tests looking for different criteria (as theirs was), as there is comparing any test results with racing results - it's pointless. The Aprilia wins here because it has the least flaws which by proxy allows it to lap the fastest, ergo, it's the best dynamically of the bunch, which is what this test is all about in the first place.
Aprilia is just better and faster bike for the track, has amazing chassis, but i agree with you that Ducati its better for street, has 100cc more and its newer bike. These are pro riders. But Kawasaki dominated in WSBK!!! :)
Fab test guys as ever! Surprised Honda have not sorted the false neutral out yet😳 good to see ducati v4 coming into it and as ever the epic Aprilia - about time they opened more dealerships they could sell shed loads 👍
It was toooooo much of a drop for me for some bikes and tooooooo much of a rise for others. Fagen should have been selected to do the timed laps. Nothing against the other guy but the levels of inconsistency between all the bikes from last year’s test to this year was toooooooo much. The drop for the R1M and the rise of the BMW didn’t make any sense, the GIXXER dropped but better than an upgrade R1M??? Really????
The track had a hand in things, no doubt, and you can't do anything other than say it how you find it, can you? This year, at this track, this is the way things were. And some of the differences are explainable, like this was the BMW 'Sport' S thou', a better version than we had last year which helped bump it above the Gixer and the R1M, with the new (not out last year) Ducati splitting them. The ZX SE was enough of an upgrade on the RR to place it above the blade this time around, etc etc. There's not actually massive differences if you really think about it and, of course, there's method to our madness...
Fast Bikes Magazine I guess I can understand some of that reasoning however the BMW beating the R1M on any track is a suspect result considering their record on track in the “real” race world, the R1 kills that bike everywhere on every track all day long. The Bimmer was placed tooooo high on a “fastest/agility bike test” not to raise eyebrows considering it’s record on track when placed against its rivals, and I don’t even like Ducati but it was too low considering its record on track, etc. Fagen should have done the timed laps I think the change of the final test rider was key. The change in track played a part but the tell, tell signs were the placement of track focused bikes to their street Bike rivals.
Fella, comparing proddy bikes with any racing results is a bit pointless, far too many variables goes into making a bike race worthy, even in Superstock classes, and that's before you even include the meat in charge. Though going by your reasoning, in the closest to proddy bike classes, Superstock, the R1 is getting its arse handed to it in BSB and the European series that runs with WSB, usually by BMWs. But honestly, even saying that means very little, and if you move up to WSB or whatever, the irrelevance to how proddy bikes compare against each other is so huge as to make it completely meaningless - aside from in manufacturer marketing departments of course! As for the man doing the lapping, they're about the same pace, the only real difference is one of them prefers far too much cheese on his burger! So, again, otherwise differences are pretty much completely explainable and bikes like the RSV, R1 and BMW have been up the top of the charts for years already anyway, for good reason.
Fast Bikes Magazine maybe in the states it’s different and in WSBK but R1 routinely beats the Bimmer and it’s not even a question. I realize though that those bikes are a lot different from stock bikes that goes without saying but in our stock and superstock races here the results are the same R1 on top, Ducati on top, Bimmer DNF. Like I said it wasn’t just the R1 but it also beat a Ducati on track, lol that’s crazy. Also I’ve seen those two test riders on other reviews and the heavier one usually is on top, and is readily admitted to be faster by the skinny guy, lol! Anyway, anytime results change that dramatically where bikes that have actually been improved get worse placement in a test you know there have been other changes which affected the results, and the two things here are the track and the rider, my money is on the rider being the flaw. Also current BSB standing have the BMW at 9 & 10 with the R1 3 places ahead!
Er, there's no way in hell Bruce would admit to being slower than Fagan (if he even is), the same goes the other way around though, ex racers both, neither would ever give quarter to another, verbally or on track, so not sure where you saw that! :-) The BSB thing, that's Superbikes not Superstock, and as we said the further up the class chain you go the more irrelevent any comp' becomes. Yeah Yamaha have been big guns in the States for a while, they were the only manufacturer to really support the racing over there after the AMA debacle and the 'dark times' (we won't speak their name...) thereafter until Rainey and Co came in to save the day and, even then, Yamaha have still been the most proactive manufacturer since then too (bar Yoshi Suzuki of course, and now Ducati are getting involved too), in all the classes, with the best support which also attracts the best teams and riders and, furthermore, racing also depends on the ruleset, some rules gives some bikes a wee bump up by proxy. So, racing/proddy comps, best left alone really, proper big minefield we can go back and forth with for hours! Cheers for the chat brother!
I'm not a fan but the BMW deserves credit for still being brilliant after all these years, and the GSXR looks a mighty weapon on the track. Ducati does look hard work there and I'm glad to see my secret favourite, the Aprilia came out on top.. Oh and Honda.... Get that gearbox sorted. False neutrals after high profile issues really isn't good enough for a company that's reputation is based on top quality kit!
Yeah it's a problem we've had on them, on three different bikes now, but then not on every one we've ridden on track. So, there's an issue somewhere but not with all bikes it seems. Pot luck, probably...
Although Ive owned a few Aprilias and loved them, I think its a large downfall for the Aprilia is the dealer network, at least in my area. I own an 18 S1000RR and am absolutely in love with it. The BMW dealer network is another big plus behind the bike. In that sense, I would put the BMW above the Aprilia.
I can tell by that last thing he said obviously this is a test on the track and it's in regards to out of the Box but it would be cool to see the difference with a full exhaust and programmer on all of them . . .

Shame they didn't show us the lap times....
All those, plus loads more stuff like speed and a heap more detail are all in the magazine Jay, link in the description if you're interested.
Fast Bikes Magazine ok. Thanks
Like if it really matters, too much bike for the road!
Ross ok Gramps 😕
@@ross5506 keep telling yourself that buddy, if you're too afraid of riding one of them!
I now own a CBR1000RR SP1 and I am as in love i could be with any of the other bikes here listed, actually prefer the sp for being sooo light and nimble and so so beautiful.
Great video, guys!
Wow didn't expect the C90 to win!
Ha!
RSV4 = The Most Complete Bike!
Rupesh Singh it goes to the repair shop a lot ?
ZX10rjet can’t say it does
Have a 18 RF
No repairs yet, no recalls
No nothing
And if it gives me issues I have the full warranty
Oh and if I decide to sell because it has issues I’ll get.. let’s say how much in return??
How much will the ninja get?
I’m guessing stereotypical ninja with the loud pipe snapped off the rev limiter and all top end squid mode engaged? I’m thinking the return will be less than my ARAI helmet?
Amazing journalism! Thoroughly enjoyed
Cheers Ed!
Great video! The shooting, the editing and I even loved the ads.
Bike World did a great job!
I am going to buy an RSV4 RF.
Liya ki nahi??
what a beautiful breezy video----One of the greatest narrators of a motors video or a technical video...Thank You
Ta!
Finally a Sportbikes shoot-out again!! :D
Great review enjoyed every single one of you sportbike of year shame there is no way to rewatch the old ones:-(
Such an awesome array of great bikes.
Bruce Wayne thanks!
Are you addressing Jesus, or the internet?

Lifted_Above I can’t tell if you’re being very funny or very stupid.
9:18 exactly!!! That's what guy martin faced in 2017 isle of man TT the fireblade has a huge neutral problem but after i saw the 2021 fireblade I think they slayed the competition
Agreed Fireblade almost killed John Mcguiness at the nw200 (throttle issue) and Guy Martin at the TT (box of neutral)
Cheers! Yeah be interesting to see what they come up with!
Amazing review. You guys are honest
Thank you!
what a phenomenal review of those bikes. Very nice work! And my personal favorite won :)
greetings from Switzerland
Marc Meier greetings back Marc
I'd get the BMW, but I really don't like the headlights.
The new one solves that problem.Good luck with the reliability, though...
So don’t get it.
you're a fucking genius...
Agree. The rsvr is everything!! A lot of people don’t know yet, how exciting is to ride that special v4 engine. You have to get your hands on one. Then you will feel it.
Drigo Poster that’s right 👍
Lap times, please.
Loads of other info, laptimes, speeds, more in-depth analysis of each of the bikes and why they finished where they did is in the magazine. Link in the description above if you're interested!
Brilliant review, love the Aprilia love. Always been a big Aprilia fan, used to own a Tuono 1000r Factory and it was mental.
Great job being thorough and objective with this review.
Thank you!
Great series of reviews...But I didn't know about the 2019 BMW...Gonna have to put off my new track bike until next year!!
We can't wait to see it!
36 Peeps own bikes that didn't finish where they thought they should. Sorry guys truth is painful sometimes.
Amazing comparison guys !!! Still my love is the R1M OMG what a machine 0_0
Word! It's amazing, they all are, it's so very tight between the lot!
Nice review! Wonder if KTM will bring out a sport bike again that would be fun.
That would be fun!
They didn't sell well in the states at dealers I went too. I like the sound of a piped RC8 at the track but seeing them sit at dealers unsold was sad
I'd rather have a handle-bar clad naked bike racing category. 1290 SDR is miles more fun in every motorcycle use-case than any racetrack focused razor.
Great job Rennie! I saw at least 5 front end slides and 3 big time rear end chatters.....kick ass!
959 last, wow. It's a bit tough against the 200hp bikes.
Despite having virtually the same displacement. Add another 200cc to the other bikes and they would spank the Ducati V4 even further.
@@nickcardillo5021 it got beat by the MV F3 800 which had less power and still was over a second faster around the track
Aprilia rsv4...the ultimate track weapon ! Love the sound 😈😍
And try to find an Aprilla dealership near to where you live, that's one of the main problems as I understand...
less than 10 miles form me - have you actually looked for one?
3 within 45 mins of me
James Arendell about a 40min. Drive for me. Could be double that and I still wouldn't hesitate. I went with the Tuono and it's such a good bike I'd happily drive 2hrs if needed. 9k miles and haven't had an issue so far.
James Arendell 14Km's mate
James Arendell Do you want the best or not? They are quite ok with reliability.
RSV4 RF is the only bike that can do 330 kmph with stock ECU and without any modifications.
i wonder where MV AGUSTA F4 would have placed in this shootout. and why didnt they include it?
Jay Young It would place dead last. To my knowledge hasn’t been touched since 2011.
The MV AGUSTA F4 is a terrible bike. The MV AGUSTA F3 is a better bike and you saw how it did. The best bike is the BMW hands down. Much better than the Aprilia RSV4 and Ducati. I've owned and tracked most of these bikes.
@@mikek545 how is it a terrible bike? You ever rode one...
Midnight Yes I rode my friends F4. He bought one and sold it after 2 months. Plus the brand comes and goes with different owners and financial problems. The best bike is the bmw, or Aprilia. Ducati and Kawi isn’t bad either.
@@mikek545 Yeah thats all great buddy, I ask again how is a TERRIBLE bike?
Yesss for the aprilia my favorite brand and the rsv4 factory is a beast ... I like ducati and honda but aprilia are just the top
“Kawasaki needs all the help it can get” was the moment I dropped a comment and backed out of this video
Against the rest? Yeah it does, although it doesn't stop it from being an ace machine, which it is, they all are!
LOL
Funny as I reckon half the comments are from people who don't even ride a sports bike !
Bikes are very different on road to how they are on track, simple as that, on track you really get to feel the individual characters, good & bad.
As a natural piss-taker it's really hard to not wind them all up :-)
Can I come on the next one please? I'll bring my own bikes !
Maybe... ;-)
Amazing shootout. Especially liked the detailed report!.
f3 800 "if it had more power"
if only there was an f4 1000
sometimes stupid people do not know they are stupid, like that comment right ? putting an 800cc vs 1000cc and crying about lack of power while ignoring that the F4 exists
I thought the same thing but this test was conducted in 2018, and according to my research that was the last year of F4 production. They only made 100 bikes and they sold for $83,000 each. They should have included it, but the exclusivity and everything may have made it impossible.
Winner is my next bike. Test rode one at the weekend and it's sublime. Can not wait to get one and get it on track
Lucky man! :-)
I really would love a f4 here.
None available, MV sold all their F4s, none were available and the final F4 special edition isn't out until next month
Fast Bikes Magazine That's the most surprising thing I heard this year. Mv Agusta is selling all their stock... Who would had guessed.
As it happens, MV sell just about every bike they make every year, overall numbers are low, around 12,000, but every one goes!
F3>F4
Fastbikes you can borrow my f4 1078rr if you want to see how it stacks up against the current generation.
Man, they really push the bikes. What an awesome review ! In fact, I never hear any of those flaws on the bikes from any other reviewer... Apart from the Kawasaki, its always been big and the power is on top

The speedometer on the Suzuki jumps from 61 to 123 @ 17:40 ... !!!
Front tire was in the air!
Any of these is fine, they will put to shame cars costing upwards of 100 thousand dollars!
PrimiusLovin it will shame cars up to 1/2M and hang with 1M+ cars in many ways except for top speed. That’s why superbikes (1000s or larger)are king for the $$$.. but you increase your risk of dying by only a few thousand %😂😂
unfortunately not true with an average driver/rider most of the time on tracks or on road a modern hot hatches will be faster, bikes are harder to ride fast (getting easier with the electronics though) but with a good rider a bike would be quicker on the average track,
Perhaps, but I'm going to give you an obvious example of how ridiculous the price/performance difference can get between motorcycles and cars, e.g @ - Pikes Peak Hill Climb:
A 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport, a fairly expensive race car, is 1.5 seconds faster than... get ready for it, "a 2009 Aprilia SXV450"!!
an example how a factory race bike prepared specifically to go up pike peak with a cost of about 100k originally and a 75k road car, this year a 2.5 tonne standard Bentley SUV was only 58 sec slower than the record holding factory prep KTM, there are no real straight forward comparisons between cars and bikes and cost,
Yes there is a straightforward comparison: '10:35.354' (2009 Aprilia SXV450: $8799) VS '10:33.897' (2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport: $165,000)!!
Bikes were on the same tires but... Isn't that the case that Panigale V4 geometry is set for higher tire profile? As always... Great to watch!!!
Tyres were the right size for the Panigale, and the bike (like the Aprilia) has a tyre calibration system which mates it to the electronics - tyres have to be the same on all bikes for a fair assessment, given the wide range of performance from OE hoops.
These bikes sound so good I didn't hear a word he said
Love the RSV-4. But I don't do tracks so I m gonna get the Touno V4.
Informative, and interesting..
Thank you!
The Best Bike iS The Yamaha R1Master..!
Why no HP4 or H2 in the line up?
H2 has been in before a couple of years back (it didn't do too bad either), but it's not an out and out superbike. HP4 (the Race we're assuming) is too expensive, we try and keep things at least somewhere sensible when it comes to the bikes involved.
Fast Bikes Magazine, I must admit I confused the HP4 with the previous HP road legal, and no longer available. Not sure when they stopped making the HP possibly a couple of years or so.
Yeah it was, last time we had one was 2014 we think!
Cuz the hp4 is 80,000, and h2 is supercharged, and won't do too well on track.
Yeah, only 80,000, you say that like it's expensive or something-hahaha!
Great shootout video! Glad someone did it already!
VICATI thanks
H2 is a street legal bike
Jim Clarke to bad it’s an ugly bike
Andrew S
@6:57,"Ducati Panigale 959 Corsa is eeeaasily the most beautiful bike in the contest". Yet it is rated last at #9.
H2 is the best looking bike to me.
Man I can't afford any of these bikes but the standards are so high it would be hard to pick one. Great review guys, it sure is nice to see all these bikes together!
Neither can we!
love bike. yeahhhhh
Ducvati fan boys going crazy :D
They shouldn't, it's an incredible next generation weapon (and one hell of a road bike), it's just there are other bikes that are easier to ride fast, simples!
Put 1100cc engines in any of the rest, and suddenly the strength of Ducati becomes as average as the others are.
BMW S1000RR best of the best😍😍😍😍
I'm happy with the verdict on all the bikes
Gsxr4life 😍
That GSXR is GORGEOUS!!! Awesome color combo!
DynamiteDirk lol hell of a comment love it.
DynamiteDirk I agree the flip flops are a must!
gsxr is like the mustang of the moto world...
Most underrated bike, such a potential bike and manufacture
Suzuki needs to bring down their learnings from MotoGP and give their GSXR 1000 production bike a crossplane engine just like Yamaha did with their R1.
R1 better than a #5
I can only agree with the ZX-10R low end lacking. Flashing the ECU helps tremendously ! Of course, they're comparing stock bikes here which is perfectly fine too.
A flash and an extra tooth on the rear - boom!
Great comprehensive review, looks like Aprilia git the formula right..."Yeshua (Jesus Christ) is the way"
If you’re new to motorcycles and trying to decide what bike to get, take all this info with a grain of salt.
@650ib
He dont like this video, he sell RSV4 and buy a Panigale V4 :D
Aprilia is just better and faster bike for the track, has amazing chassis, but i agree with you that Ducati its better for street, has 100cc more and its newer bike. These are pro riders. But Kawasaki dominated in WSBK!!! :)
Well... it's a good thing no one showed up on a V&M tuned 1999 R1 ;)
Bet you $1 Kawasaki steals VVT from Suzuki very soon.
44teeth said the exact opposite of the pan vs rsv4. Who do we believe lol
9enius exactly probably just different riders and differences of opinion every racer likes the r1 as well but not in this case
They both said the RSV4 is faster because the V4 Pani is really wild/hard to ride.
Tom J. O exactly.. The rsv4 was the faster/the fastest during both tests
Ehm Ee in a straight line no
@aztec Warrior, nobody really cares about straight line. We're talking laptimes.
This guys get pay to lie I don't take these riders opinion serious 😉
What? Really? By who?! Hey, if there's money floating about we don't know about, you better tell us where it is! ;-)
8 kilos under yep MCN yes Fast Bikes no
Thank you good sir!
yep it's called MCN where you review sports bikes on cattle grids, lol
George soros pays them .... 😉
I can tell by that last thing he said obviously this is a test on the track and it's in regards to out of the Box but it would be cool to see the difference with a full exhaust and programmer on all of them . . .
