      @@rmitton2008 Nor would a lawyer be allowed in the well either, maybe to hand the weapon IF allowed, and would ask for permission to approach, but some of them were talking to witness like right in front of them... I know it's so you can have them both in frame and more dramatic... but still

    His defense lawyer failed him. He should have objected on relevance. Even if it got sustained, which it likely would have, his interjection would have given his client a moment to realize what was going on and calm down. Glad we got this moment, though!

      Failed badly. Object endlessly. He knows his client is a drugged out hothead who is very likely guilty and should've never taken the stand!
      He should've objected endlessly to just slow things down! Newman was losing his cool at "taking bears"...😂... his attorneys should've stopped it there!

      By then it was too late, because even with the sustaining, in final summation McCoy can use that testimony as direct evidence that he admitted it.

    For the record a DA is not allowed to ask if the defendant was prepped. Doing so by law means a immediate mistrial, if not with prejudice.

    As i said before, Gorton and his asisstant deserved some punishment for all the mess than they do (Be fair, for little things Mc Coy get's even a time in jail, Kincaid was censored only for Thyer's word, Stone had a Headache with Swann...etc, but the defense never gets punished)

      Because you can’t see your own psychoses from an outside perspective.
      You don’t do things you think are wrong unless you’re being deliberately malicious - you act based upon how your brain interprets outside stimuli. It’s just that the brain in some people doesn’t work in a particular way, or has grown and developed in a particular way that seems strange to other people. From their perspective, they’re acting completely rationally.

    So much for the right to counsel. I doubt a real judge would allow a prosecutor to ask a defendant anything about what a defense lawyer told their client while preparing for a case.

      Seems like it's a pretty standard question. And the judge, I believe, could only prevent the question if 1) he/she had ruled on it before the trial started and somebody tried to come through the back door or 2) the defense counsel objected. Neither happened in this case.

    We already know what happened to Madame Bovary but seeing what kind of wishes a dog would make? Do they have negative or positive consequences? Does he have to take the wishes back? Does he make the wishes for himself or for others? What if he doesn’t want to take them back? Are there consequences to what dog wishes for?

    The first thing I'd seen Scott Cohen in was Necessary Roughness as Nico the aloof and serious bodyguard with a dangerous secret past, a very VERY reserved character. EVERY other performance I've seen of him besides that are the most _cokehead_ characters.

    Kids back then those are what are called cassette tapes. And all hail the late great Michael Zaslow (1;49) aka Roger Thorpe on The Guiding Light. Your grandmas and moms probably watched it.

      Zaslow was diagnosed with ALS in 1997. This episode aired in March of that year, so he was already having symptoms and possibly knew what he was facing. He died in December, 1998. RIP.

    Why is McCoy allowed to grill the defendant about his confidential conversations with his attorney??? Did the story include some legal explanation for this?

    would be nice if L & O have an original idea just once. Most overrated show and franchise in broadcast history. rivals breaking bad

    this 3 part series is my favorite of all the episodes. It's uninterrupted as the three parts all follow each other and it has Carey Lowell as 2nd chair. McCoy would have lost without her.
