For those wondering what happens: The case is difficult to prove because there is no body. Tommy and Christina claim they abandoned the baby in the hotel room, expecting that he'd be found and taken to hospital. McCoy can prove that they have repeatedly lied about what happened, and that the baby was born alive. They even went to a party right after Christina gave birth. The jury favors Christina - but then the baby's body is found on a construction site to which Christina's father, Warren Talbert, had keys. Talbert says Christina told him about the baby, and he went to the hotel to look; but the baby died and Talbert hid the body. He is clearly lying as the autopsy shows the baby was strangled. Talbert won't testify against Christina even when offered immunity from prosecution, so McCoy has him jailed for contempt of court. When the trial resumes, Christina's lawyer posits that Talbert killed the baby. Since Talbert refuses to testify, there's reasonable doubt. Christina and Tommy are both acquitted, and there isn't enough evidence to charge Talbert with anything. We're left not knowing for sure who killed the baby: Christina or her father. No one is ever held responsible for murdering the baby.
True, but cooperation can lead to a lighter sentence, possibly even a plea bargain. There have been murderers who receive less than 10 years in prison simply because the prosecution offered them a plea deal in exchange for cooperation/confessions. It’s a very common prosecution tactic because the prosecution is usually more concerned with getting a conviction rather than Justice.
@@kylewilson2819that and sometimes the prosecutor doesn't have the evidence available to get the justified conviction, so they settle for a lighter sentence that can be convicted. I'd rather a murderer get 10 years opposed to walking free completely. There’s no way she would have been able to miscarry or abort in just a few days. And there’s no way none of the other rooms wouldn’t have heard her. I miscarried at 3months and the process went on for DAYS. And it was the most excoriating pain I’ve ever felt. I couldn’t not scream and the amount of blood I lost was insane.
They probably tried to abort but couldn't as she was too far along. Clearly, she was lying about all that. This hotel sounds really fun and I doubt anyone cares about anything going on in the other rooms. I mean, they found a dead prostitute under the bed of a room there and no one heard anything? Nice.
Most of the tissue passes within 2 to 4 hours after the cramping and bleeding start. I am gonna take it. You don't have a medical license, and your experience is just that. YOUR experience. That wont work anymore today unless she "miscarried" before 6 weeks (state dependent). With this dumb new law banning abortion after they deem a fetus "viable," she'd still be getting charged for murder and anyone that helped would be charged along with her.
I haven’t seen the episode, so I’m not sure. Maybe her parents found out at the last second and forced her to abort so she didn’t have to drop out of school? Or maybe the boyfriend put pressure on her for a similar reason and finally caved? Maybe she thought she could go through with having a baby, panicked at the last second and changed her mind?
