    For those wondering what happens:
    The case is difficult to prove because there is no body. Tommy and Christina claim they abandoned the baby in the hotel room, expecting that he'd be found and taken to hospital. McCoy can prove that they have repeatedly lied about what happened, and that the baby was born alive. They even went to a party right after Christina gave birth. The jury favors Christina - but then the baby's body is found on a construction site to which Christina's father, Warren Talbert, had keys. Talbert says Christina told him about the baby, and he went to the hotel to look; but the baby died and Talbert hid the body. He is clearly lying as the autopsy shows the baby was strangled. Talbert won't testify against Christina even when offered immunity from prosecution, so McCoy has him jailed for contempt of court. When the trial resumes, Christina's lawyer posits that Talbert killed the baby. Since Talbert refuses to testify, there's reasonable doubt. Christina and Tommy are both acquitted, and there isn't enough evidence to charge Talbert with anything. We're left not knowing for sure who killed the baby: Christina or her father.
    No one is ever held responsible for murdering the baby.

      True, but cooperation can lead to a lighter sentence, possibly even a plea bargain. There have been murderers who receive less than 10 years in prison simply because the prosecution offered them a plea deal in exchange for cooperation/confessions. It’s a very common prosecution tactic because the prosecution is usually more concerned with getting a conviction rather than Justice.

    • @ameliarose47
      @ameliarose47 4 месяца назад

      @@kylewilson2819that and sometimes the prosecutor doesn't have the evidence available to get the justified conviction, so they settle for a lighter sentence that can be convicted. I'd rather a murderer get 10 years opposed to walking free completely. Plus then there's a charge on the record so if something happens when they get out you have criminal history that can be taken into account.

      Regardless this sends a conflicting message... and truthfully I find it quite hypocritical of the American judicial system to throw the book at somebody if they murder their baby just because the baby was born yeah it's no big deal if they go in at seven months pregnant and have a doctor give the baby a shot that makes its heart explode and then cuts the baby up to pull it out of the mom and call it a fancy thing like abortion that way we don't have to actually deal with the fact that murder is murder. Why should it matter if the baby was murdered inside the belly are outside the belly murder is murder. And truthfully cases like this should never happen as long as abortion is legal. Because when you teach people that you can murder a baby inside the belly that teaches people that their life is worth nothing ever. And the only difference is one way of doctor does it the other way the person themselves do it. No matter which way it's done its evil. And I will assure you there are plenty of conservative that would love to adopt children but they're all told that they can't for one reason or another their denied. Like I can't do nothing this happened back in the late 80s early 90s there was a girl I went to school with she was pregnant she didn't want to have the baby she didn't want to keep the baby and so my conservative parents went and applied to adopt this baby and my parents were told that they could not adopt a child. Even though they already had three girls a stable loving home everything was happy ecetera etcetera... 5 years later we found out that my parents were turned down for adopting the baby in the baby ended up in foster care and then was molested and raped by the time the child was 8 years old. And that would serve foster care. It's not that conservatives don't care about the babies after they're born we're just not allowed to from the left
