True, but cooperation can lead to a lighter sentence, possibly even a plea bargain. There have been murderers who receive less than 10 years in prison simply because the prosecution offered them a plea deal in exchange for cooperation/confessions. It’s a very common prosecution tactic because the prosecution is usually more concerned with getting a conviction rather than Justice.

Where it was messed up was the Doctor who was treating his son said it was am accident, but a nurse insisted that it was child abuse.
