Intamin: Hey, can I copy your homework?
Mack Rides: Yeah, just change it up a bit so it doesn't look obvious you copied.

I’m not really the biggest fan of the new Power Splash like concept, to me it just seems like a direct copy of Mack’s model. The Giga design however does look unique.

They just mixed the raptor track idea with the water coaster idea. No one has done that before. Also, nobody has ever put a near-vertical drop on a water coaster

@@NorCalCoasterMedia it's supposed to compete somewhat with the power splash. The water coaster seems okay-ish, but it's still using something that, after taking to a friend who is in the industry, RMC does likely have a case for patent infringement.

Also, when you comparing the Ultra Splash model with the Power Splash from Mack, you notice that the Ultra Splash has more length of track (+ 308 meters, + 1010 foot) and larger trains (+ 1 row). It also has the sigle rail and a more "futurist" look by looking to the support structure.
The con I can point is the fact that it doesn't a turntable (wich allows the park to run 2 trains). Pulsar at Walibi Belgium is the first Power Splash of Mack and it has a turntable. According to RCDB, it has a capacity of 950 visitors per hour. Even with larger trains, the Ultra Splash can't have the same capacity without the turntable. But when you see that Aquaman: Power Wave at SFOT, also a Power Splash, doesn't have a turntable (it will have a capicity of 731 visitors per hour), that means it's a feature. So, we can hope that Intamin can do the same and will propose the turntable as a feature (and I'm hoping that parks will not be jerks and will take the feature (Six Flags are jerks for not taking it)).
EDIT: Also, by looking at the promotional video of Pulsar, they showed the trains going at the very top of the structure and here, they showed that too. In fact, Pulsar stop 3 or 4 meters of the top while it's 45 meters high. And the Ultra Splash is 37 meters high, so the drops will be incredibly shorter than the drops on the Power Splash.
Plus, the Ultra Splash has a top speed of 94 km/h while the Power Splash has a top speed of 101 km/h. On Pulsar, there were just a little airtime with the top speed, so here the quote "Several Unique Airtime Moments" is a complete lie.
In conclusion, the Ultra Splash has more length of track, larger trains, a single rail and a general modern look but, it has a smaller high, speed and airtime moments than the Power Splash.
The only thing Intamin can do better now is the price. Pulsar cost 8.5 millions of € (including the building and turntable), so we can guess the ride itself (without the turntable and the bonus train) cost like 6 or 7 millions. I'm sure Intamin can make it at 5 millions or less otherwise, I personnaly prefer getting a Power Splash.

Tommy Coaster there isn’t really as many options for single rail coasters design wise in order for it to be cost effective. The sky rocket is all based on a similar type of design.
They’ve made their own versions of theses concepts and I think the problem is, you can’t expect every manufacturer to make a whole new coaster type every time. And no manufacturer owns elements.
On each one they’ve put their own spins on it, such as an inverted launch on the skyrocket. So I don’t think that they are copies or ripoffs.
