I can’t get over the animation of this game- it’s so vibrant and fluid!
To all wondering about submarine-thing - Commander Sith had his submarine pimped:
"Yo dawg, I heard you like escaping in your submarine so I put a submarine in your submarine so you can escape while you escape."
And in one slick move, things get real...and Cabanela is instantly a FREAKING hero in disguise. This game really keeps you on your toes sometimes.
But the best...is yet to come.
Admittedly, Lynne dies more times than any other Damsel in Distress in video games that I know of.
On the other hand, at least twice it was because she was saving someone's life, so she's at least dying for a good reason. And Death is Cheap here, after all.
*SPOILERS* This isn't sexist though, even by the crazy feminists' standards, since the "damsel" is being rescued by a cat, not a *GASP* man.

In complete seriousness, yes, there's nothing wrong with Lynne dying because not many people find her puzzles THAT annoying.
ekimmak I mean, I'm a feminist and I'm not so sure Lynne is meant to be a Damsel in Distress figure, and I can't really find anything problematic about the way she's written. She's very rarely distressed about dying, for one thing. She's clearly granted a number of capabilities that Sissel doesn't have, which enable him to progress through the game. While perhaps not so literally as Sissel saves her, she does save Sissel. His storyline wouldn't really be able to exist without her active efforts.
I think probably the biggest factor that doesn't slam-dunk her in the Damsel category is that she's never portrayed as a potential romantic interest (for what later become obvious reasons). The typical Damsel plot is Girl-Gets-Saved;Girl-Suddenly-Wants-to-Bang-Protag. Lynne gives no shits, and this is refreshing. While the normal trope is just plain bad writing, Lynne exists on her own merit. Her relevance to the plot has nothing to do with how much mortal peril gets thrown her way - her deaths are barely a footnote by the second one, and a running joke by the third. Seems to me the writers went out of their way to subvert the trope wherever possible.
There's also no Brooding Protagonist Manpain, which I love. Whenever her corpse pops up again, Sissel's just like, "Seriously? You're gonna make me do this shit again?" like the nanny who just cleaned up in here and CAN YOU KEEP IT CLEAN FOR TEN MINUTES YOU LITTLE GREMLINS. This is hilarious.
I dunno, it might be a matter of opinion. For my personal Is-It-Sexist meter, I change only the gender of the female character in question and nothing else. If it strays too much from how the other men are portrayed, it's A) bad writing, B) sexist, or C) both. If you swap out Lynne for a Liam, there's virtually nothing dialogue- or plot-wise that would make you think of the Damsel trope, so that's what clinches its okay-ness for me.
I apologize for the really long comment/reply. I could literally write a 15-page paper analysis of this game.
日向創 I agree 100%, but I don't think Lynne should have been swapped out for a guy, she brings more gender diversity to the main cast and her feminine animations and charming design bring contrast.

She technically did survived for one hour. During the two-hour wait before "Sissel" "boards" the submarine.
I got the fans and the steam pipes correct on my first try. It was a complete fluke cos i was just messing around with missile to see what would and couldn't be moved around. I saved myself a lot of time lol

0002pA I guess if they stopped at the bottom, the torpedo wouldn't have flipped over because of gravity. might have made the torpedo go not straight, but what they needed was to flip over the torpedo to knock the mouse off.
having a weight at the bottom will not rotate a cylinder, but having one at the top will rotate until its at the bottom
