My god this puzzle was wonderfully designed. If it wasn't for the deja vu, the player would have to guess randomly in order to complete this (which is never fun). But because we encountered a scenario like this before, then the player will have a vague inkling on what to do. This is beautiful foresight and game design.
My mind was blown when I realised what the room was!
The entire house could be blowing up and Dandy would still dismiss it as his imagination.
I just love how she sits there with the juice and the book, looking like she's just chillin' on the beach. I love this game (exept for the prison-escape part, that was a nightmare!)
So Jowd let himself be arrested for a crime he didn't commit that was really an accident, all because he felt guilty from shooting a guy who threatened to kill a little girl? Even if it meant leaving his own little girl behind while he went to jail? What a chump.
Not really. At time of his wife's murder, he had a choice. He gets arrested or Kamilla does. Yomiel dying is how he justifies himself being executed.
This may spoil something later on in the story, but i'm curious as to why a gun was even in the picture frame, with a rope tied to it, it really doesn't seem like too much of an accident.

Kamila wasn't the one who mounted that loaded gun on the wall. Jowd was; it was an antique he'd owned for years.
Kamila didn't notice the presence of the gun, and Jowd had no idea that his daughter was planning a Rube Goldberg birthday surprise for his wife.
And the gun was not originally part of the contraption, nor loaded.
I'll give you a hint:
The "reason" the gun was part of the contraption and loaded is the same "reason" that the Cupid turned and shot the wrong target.
13:50 They really had a character aware of our presence who *threatened* to kill the young girl in front of our eyes if we crossed paths again, only for nothing to ever happen after that.
I’m almost glad, because The Manipulator doing the same thing in Chapter 15 was bad enough.
It was added. The Manipulator added it to the contraption, Kamilla didn't knew anything about this and never added it to it.
Finished this yesterday, within 2 days of playing.
Major plot twists are major!
@ZSlyzer Touche, but--why mount a loaded gun on the wall at all? I hate to keep bringing this up, but it bothers me that much.
Yeah, uh, I know this is a sad plot twist and all, but...
WHY INVOLVE A GUN IN A CONTRAPTION THAT'S NOT MEANT TO HARM PEOPLE?! I'm sorry, but this has been bothering me ever since it first came up.
The contraption was changed actually, the Cupid was supposed to fire at the party poppers, not trigger the gun.
It’s really late right now. But, for the future people who rewatch this series.
Up until now, the game has stressed multiple time that there are other rare dead people that got the power of Ghost Trick.
And if you notice in the Kamila’s memories, the Cupid doll turn mid may when it fly up. That is the hint which tell, some malicious ghost doing the trick there to mess up the contraption.
The same contraption was re-create by the physic guy (the Pigeon Dude) at the earlier chapter was build base on what they gather after the investigation. Which mean the last position of the Cupid is facing the wrong side in the recreation.

@shinobiflare Like she said it wasn't part of the contraption. It was meant to hit the poppers on the left side, but something made the cupid turn.
but where did the gun with the 'fuse' come from.....

Yeah, but how the hell did the girl get a gun to use? It's still dangerous to use, even if it's not meant with violent intentions.

Also third, does anyone think that it was SOMEONE (I mean, dead person with the powers of the dead) that turned the Cupid the other way?
@shinobiflare Some people do - plus, who says it was not originally empty to begin with?
Besides, it's not a totally serious game...some of the plot elements you need to let slide over your head a little or there's no enjoyment...it's like the ace attorney games in that regard.

First of all, isn't that the same contraption that was used to kill Lynne? Second, was Detective Jowd accused of killing her wife?
OMG! So, Lynne and that girl grew with a father in jail because that girl made that stupid thing and kept her mouth shut?
