Marc’s face and demeanor just come to life and shines when speaking of Polly. My heart breaks for this dear man and I’m so sorry he’s faced with trying to fight this decision. What strength he must have. I’m sure he will continue to go forward with all of the good he’s doing.
Davis flipped off the jury, television cameras, and claimed not to sexually assault Polly because she said: "don't do me like your daddy." That was a jab at Marc Klaas for insisting the killer of his 12 year old daughter get the death penalty. Davis has not shown an iota of remorse; in fact, he was bragging while he was in prison before Polly's murder that he was going to kidnap and kill someone. The reason why he chose Polly was because she was so young Davis thought he wouldn't infect himself with AIDS. There are some lives that are simply not worth saving, and one of those is Richard Allen Davis. I'd kill Davis myself if the CA Dept. of Corrections would let me.
Instead of the death penalty, why not bring back chain gangs and hard labor camps?

I have my beliefs that fall under that label, but I believe in the death penalty. He is very open about talking about Polly and what exactly happened, just like John Walsh. His emotions, after all this time, are just as raw. I just love that man.
He's very well-spoken, and appears at ease in front of the camera. As the saying goes, the eye sheds a tear to regain its focus. The tragic circumstances which he has had to endure, are what motivate him and provide the power behind his message.
Richard Allen Davis was on parole after 8 years in prison for kidnapping when he kidnapped Polly and killed her. Marc Klaas has saved many lives because of this incident; I have nothing but respect for Mr. Klaas.

I remember this story and family. Unfortunately this was when the public backed victims. Nowadays liberals back suspects and convicted criminals.
I'm a Democrat (a Moderate) but I have to agree that Liberals are too soft on crime. Law and order is the one issue on which I agree with conservatives, and particularly illegal immigration.
There are, however, a fair share of Republicans who aren't tough enough on crime, either.

This man this father has endured so much heartache. Hes been waiting all these years for the execution apparantly that many believe shouldve hapenned the next day after sentencing. I sure hope that he can sonehow find peace in life and justice get served in his lifetime.

Governor Newsomes spokesperson informed me that he doesnt agree w death penalty. Said it doesnt deter crime! I DISAGREE!'We havent executed these monsters in YEARS. He does not represent the 48% of Californians that disagree. These are Horrible MONSTERS! These arent pillars of the community. This man (Marc Klaas ) has suffered so much. Scott Pererson is another example of a monster. Disguised as a husband and father. I talk about Marc a lot on the Janey Peterson debacle videos! That Marc took a polygraph and would have done absolutely anything to find his girl. I can not imagine his pain/ fear/. These killers have NO REMORSE. Governor Newsom infuriates me. Jury found your daughter's killer guilty a judge handed down death penalty. Mr Klaas I am so sorry I have followed your daughters story for years now. That moratorium needs to be removed once he is voted out of office.

This convicted person has live his life and while the family of the victim has been waiting for justice. Polly never had a chance to experience his childhood, his adulthood, prom night and having her own family. The monster is just bragging up to this day. I'm surprised that no one is touching him inside the prison.
I am certain John Walsh who went through the same thing when his son Adam was abducted and found murdered in the early 80s feels the same way
I SO feel for Marc Klass! The fact that Newsom can recreate the hurt for the families that have lost family members in such a hurtful way. After West Virginia Governor Hulett Smith abolished West Virginia's death penalty in 1965, the West Virginia Governors who succeeded him, Arch A. Moore, Jr, John D. Rockefeller IV, Gaston Caperton, Cecil H. Underwood, Bob Wise, Joe Manchin III and Earl Ray Tomblin failed to reinstate West Virginia's death penalty. Now it's up to Governor Jim Justice to bring the Death Penalty back to West Virginia.
They should've let the boys in Texas have Davis.
I could give an answer to that disgusting question to Polly's dad about why he is pro death penalty... because I would want the killer of my child to feel that fear,and the helplessness.. To that she did!!
I have so much respect for mr. Klass. He has made it his business to fly out to current victims of kidnapping and lends his expertise in the subject in which he has learned so much over time and at no cost to the families. I posted a collage of photos of Polly, her father and her monster killer to those that spoke in support of Newson’s decision. To make sure certain that Polly and her family were never forgotten. Mr Klaas, I will never forget her life and the horrific tragedy of her life taken so brutally. We will continue to fight for her!
I have never firgotten my oldest daughter was same age as Polly neither one of us have ever forgotten Mr. Klaas. And we will never forget you nor your sweet Polly.

The same case that activated the 3 strikes law, a law which destroyed many families outside of this case (nonviolent 3 strikers) and Davis and many other serial killers get relief! and there’s still over 4,000 nonviolent 3 strikers sitting in overcrowded prisons because of this law without any retroactive post conviction relief.

When our society is more sophisticated, I truly believe the family of the victims will make the decision as to death penalty or not and that will be that; one appeal within one year to determine all trial technicalities and then the death penalty or life sentence without parole.
I wonder how Governor Newsom"s views on the death penalty would be if his own daughter was abducted, tortured and killed ?

Guy makes it seem like life in San Quentin is pleasant. It isn't. Frankly after being in there for as long as he has the man that killed Polly would consider death a relief.
I have always thought of Polly Klaas how awful how she was abducted. If the boys that saw the man in yard said something this would’ve been avoided. If you see something call 911 you could never be to careful!

I had the good fortune to have met Joe a few times in Monterey and Carmel in the late 1980's, when I was a young man. I have thought about the Klaas family from time-to-time throughout my life and knowing how much Joe loved Polly has been very influential in my life.
