I did exactly what you recommended and I'm extremely happy. I did order the flared footpads the pint s has. I didn't feel I wanted a fast charger in the early days. I wanted to ensure I had a buffer to when I first unboxed and reviewing all material and purchasing helmet/wrist pads.
Your recommendations are the correct across the board. The extra bumpers and rail guards are nice if you plan to do a color scheme or eventually plan to replace the rear bumper after a year or more of off-roading. The carbon fiber fender is a joke and not worth any price they label it even in a bundle. Dont use Hypercharger on a standard Pint, it will kill the BMS eventually A 3rd party tire or OW performance tire, is the next single best upgrade one can make for their Onewheel. The stock tire on Pint(X) is super stiff
Don't stress the scratched rails too much! The community likes seeing battlescars 💪🏽 hopefully you stick with OneWheels man, they're a ton of fun! I started back when the Pint first released and have gone from XR, to GT and now I ride VESC. It also has one of the greatest communities in PEVs
Thanks so much! I've accepted the scratches at this point and am definitely enjoying the learning experience. I appreciate your comment, and it's good to know there is a helpful community for if I choose to dive into customization in the future. 👊
I did preeetty much the same thing you did. Exceptions: I put my rail guards on right away, thankfully. But that did not protect the carbon fender (of course), which got the absolute crap scratched out of it on the first bail 😂 Same with the aluminum mag handle, actually. Overall i’m very happy with it, especially now with the fw update that came out yesterday 👍
Thanks for commenting. I didn't even think about the metal handle getting scratched up. That probably makes it sharp! I'll check out the firmware update. I hadn't heard about that.
I made the same mistake when buying my Pint X too. Lesson learnt when I recently bought my GT, just bought the board, a carbon fiber fender and rail guards. The store threw in the charger plug for free.
A agree with all the complaints of this video. My suggestions: Get the rails. 3rd party fender. Etsy charger plugs Id still keep the ultra charger, I use that as my out and about charger, but at home I still slow charge. I purchased the colored bumpers, but as stated in video they don't come installed, additionally there isn't a spot for a tracker like the stock bumpers, consequently, they are still separate. The mag handle pro is absolutely more comfortable, however unnecessary until the plastic one (WILL) break. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade after that.
Etsy has some great charge port cover options that are tethered to the onewheel. Harder to lose unless you break the tether. Bundle kits are kind of misleading and FM's plugs always fall out and get lost. 🤙🤙
Just because you didn't know what you were buying doesn't mean you should say don't waste your money buying the pint x. Yea I get it you were showing a new persons after purchase clarity and newfound understanding of the package deals etc but that doesn't put you in a position to say others shouldn't buy.
I hear you. I just wasn't clear on what I actually needed and basically "didn't know what I didn't know." I respect that other people might want to buy the package deal, but I wanted to share my opinion. Thanks for your feedback. 🤝
@@4-Horses a VESC XR with a torque pack is in my opinion peak OneWheel. So many options for parts and accessories. Floatwheels are garbage though, I've seen them dump people at speed for seemingly no reason and I've blown up an ADV just by plugging it into the wall 😂 Fungineers, MakersPEV, IndySpeed, AtLow are all fantastic places to look at for your VESC journey
It's wild to me that after buying a $1500 board you even still have to buy a fender or charger cover at all. I got an Eskate for $200 less with a battery 3.5x bigger and motors 10x as powerful and it came with even more accesories than I was expecting
Hey bud, I just want to say that this video has no issue with the OneWheel Pint X itself. This just has to do with your understanding of what you are purchasing. The board of course has bumpers already, and a plastic handle that works just fine, already. The rapid charger is for people who ride longer distances, and need to recharge when they are out. A rapid charger will have you topped off in about an hour, perfect for a lunch or coffee break. The regular (home) charger takes about 2 hours and is a pain to wait that long if you are out. Also, of course rail guards work better when you install them. Sorry, I just felt the need to comment since this showed up on my youtube algorithm.
I appreciate that. I could've done some more research and digging to try to understand what everything was and whether I needed it. Honestly, I saw a deal and made a hasty decision, thinking I had to act fast. I take full responsibility for my lack of research, but in this video I wanted to hopefully let anyone else, who might be as confused as I was, to get some clarity. Thanks for the comment.
Disagree. The bumpers are an upgrade, the ultra charger is a must have for many. Really all of it is very useful. I’m all for getting some 3rd party accessories, but the bundles are legit
@@JaTirk The bumpers are literally the same, not an upgrade. The ultra charger means less the more range these boards have. I've bought 3 used boards, and 2 came with the "pro bundle" where the seller just lost a bunch of money on it. OP isn't the first person to say they regret buying the large bundle.

Nice! I think I need to get some wrist pads too. Sounds like a smart idea.

I appreciate your tips and insight! I like the idea of upgrading the tire. I've lost traction a few times on gravel surfaces. Thanks for commenting.

@@FunVolts Yeah you definitely pay for the name. I would like Futuremotion more as a brand if they didn't sue competitors out of existence.

If you have a 3D printer, you can print the charger plugs.
Good idea. I don't have a printer, but that would be a lot better than my piece of tape!

So true!
Have you tried the free firmware update? What do you think?
I saw that email come in yesterday. I haven't tried it, but definitely will be checking it out and making a video about it.
Where is the wipe out video?
Lol. I actually have only wiped out one time and we were not filming. It was on grass too, so I was lucky.
Buy a floatwheel -- Its way, way better.
I haven't heard of them. Thanks for letting me know. 👍
