    If you put everything in your pocket you dont have a business, you have a job. I pay my self 1500 weekly, not matter if i do 4500 or 9k in a week. By end of the month at least you should have 12k sit in your bank account after you pay everything. If you keep your path you will grow yiur bank account that will allow you to cover your repairs. By the end of of the year all the revenue that you earn, i bonus my self 20% of the business account. And start again next year and do the same and your 20% for next year should be bigger. And keep doing it. This is how I finance my hotshot business.

      Don't you have to legally stop after 10/11 hours of driving though?

    Sad to hear about the off-road safety threats due to the high crime in this country. Otherwise, it was a very enjoyable interview.

    Yes I believe there can be a little money in this business BUT at what cost. You have to spend your life in the seat of a truck, wear that truck out and pray you have no big breakdowns.

    I concur on the rules and safety and the extreme penalties for breaking them and how easy it is to. This industry is very unforgiving on tons of erroneous bureaucratic regulations that vary state to state in addition to Federal regulations that can be more revenue agenda driven then safety. Unfortunately that's a fact of the industry and life. Death, taxes and erroneous regulations are a certainty in this world. Planning ahead of time is the best method and initiate them correctly. Obviously life is not perfect nor are people but if your default position is that then you'll succeed more times then not. Every state has a website of their DOT rules and regulations as does the Federal DOT and I encourage drivers on your days off while preparing your next journey to see if anything will apply to you and get educated on that and if needed keep that information in your laptop or phone in a PDF file in case it's needed. Prioritize is key in this industry. If your preoccupied with other things then this business will chew you up quickly. Remember as in life 100% of everything is in God's hands and the 20% he allows for us to choose is the paths set in front of us. Just gotta choose the right one. Education is the first step to that. Knowledge is power and power reciprocates action ✌🏽🇺🇲

    Transportation industry is not for everyone. I recommend you get your cdl and go drive with an otr company and make sure you enjoy doing this. Being alone otr is not for every body. I don’t like seeing people get in and out. It takes a lot of money to get in. People who succeed don’t do it for the money but the love of the business and that’s why they make it thru thick and thin. Good luck to all. Also going to an otr company. They teach you trip planning and how to plan ahead for parking.

      You either have to love it or don't bother. The money is not THAT great when all the time and expenses are factored in. That goes for trucking in general. Not everybody is cut out for OTR driving and even less are cut out to be owner operators.

    What are your thoughts on hot shot tracking in Southern California?

    • @NHZ_x4
      @NHZ_x4 8 месяцев назад +1

      Southern California is alright alotve tolls and traffic but since you never go over 55 you save diesel and you can negotiate rates due to the toll’s I usually knock out two or three loads when I stick to socal El Cajon to Fontana good rates low mileage …just alotve traffic

      You may run into maintenance issues a lot sooner than you like. You won’t be able to carry much weight so it will decrease the amount of loads available to you. Being a new authority means it will be difficult working with brokers in the beginning. Loads you are able to take will be cheap. If you’re a hustler you can make it work if your pockets are deep.

    So... I've somehow made it a year under my own MC, up and over here in the "Great NW". I've watched a couple of these failure episodes, and it's been obvious why they failed. This job is not about sightseeing and dirt biking with your wife, that's for sure.
    I'm a little curious about your dispatching. I speak English and would love to speak English with a dispatcher.

    • @BrandonLeech
      @BrandonLeech 2 месяца назад

      Just another couple of greenhorns who thought trucking was like full time RVing or something, except you make a lot of money. Lol, nope. The wife and dirt bikes need to stay home where they belong and trucking needs to be something you just love doing, because there will be tough days that make you want to throw in the towel. Going out and buying a bunch of expensive equipment when you don’t even know what you’re doing or if you even like this trade is pure lunacy. He didn’t even have a CDL and never drove commercially before…had no idea what he getting himself into. “Oh we’ll just move onto our next business venture…” could be wrong but sounds to me like a lot of money that somebody ELSE worked hard to save is being thrown around here for these two’s entertainment.

    Please don’t give to the wounded warrior foundation, they give the lowest percentage for every dollar donated. I’m a vet that knows what I’m talking about, DAV gives 100% of dollars donated to us military who brought back a disability. The Disable American Veterans (DAV) really supports us. The wounded warrior foundations CEO takes a big cut of the donations to pay for his very high six figure salary. The DAV is run by people donating their time.
