Update: It’s now been a month and the Big Tex dealer has never called me once. If I want to communicate I have to call them, and the last call I made a few days ago they told me they forgot about me and they would call me that day with an update. They never called!!
Diamond C will be more than happy to have your business and the vice president will personally call you. His name is Jacob.
Transeagle tires they make 16ply all steel radial tires for 16” wheels if you don’t have 17.5” already. I have had great luck with them. I just finish my class A cdl as well.
Good info, thanks. I have 17.5’s on my other trailer, but not on this new one. Now I can put 16 ply’s on the new one without changing rims.
I am very glad that you found a nice trailer. I moved up to a 44' trailer from a 40'. You are going to enjoy the extra length.
It’s a difference that’s for sure. I haven’t needed it quite yet but I’m sure I will.
The BigTex dealership in Hoover, Alabama is terrible as well. I dropped my trailer off after having break issues. They said they had it fixed. I picked it up and had a 15K load of shingles when the trailer breaks went out again. They could have gotten me killed. I will never go back to them for any work on the trailer.
That’s crazy, I can’t believe how bad these dealerships are. They are right there when they want you to buy a trailer, but once the warranty stuff comes into play then they couldn’t care less.
I like your videos and your choice of music that is not rap. I was there when rap started in the late 70s and I couldn’t connect to it. Anyway, I’m sixty three, in good health and retired five years ago. I got my CDL last Fall and drove OTR dry van semi for a mega carrier for a while with the intention to start my own business in hotshot. I didn’t want to do any flatbed semi trucking because I had some experience driving three car haulers around the country in my own car lot business before retiring. I have steady passive income and will be purchasing my equipment outright and won’t be depending solely on hotshot income, but I’m hearing the newly issued MC authority will have a hard time getting loads. Is that true? I’m sure you’re busy, but I’d appreciate your reply and we might meet on the road someday.
My son is 20 years old and has been doing research for 3 years. He said NO on the big tex, so don't beat yourself up for telling the truth." They should know better as a business.
It’s definitely a poorly built trailer, which is unfortunate considering how many people use them. I’ve found that the LoneStar is a very good trailer, the only downside is it’s a bit heavy for a 40ft single tandem.
Tether you're spare tire on Big Tex. Seen my spare tires fall off do to poor welding.
Love the vids bro you show what hotshot is about
What a trailer saga. New one looks great, I'm a fan of PJ trailers myself I want one with air ride
You’re speaking my language!! A 40ft PJ with 12k or 15k axles and air ride, sign me up! The new trailer has been running great, I’d absolutely recommend LoneStar too, it’s a very solid trailer so far, but I’m not sure if they offer air ride.
Avoid both bug tex and pj. They are made by the same manufacturer just different branding
Try magnesium for your nerve pain might help. Also scalping to get rid of nerve pain. Stretching hips helps also
Thank you for the tips!! I take Magnesium along with a few other supplements, but I truly don’t stretch as much as I’m supposed to. What is scalping?
@@Blue_Sky_Hotshots scalping is removing damaged tissue and get better blood flow to that area
fixing a shipshe with 12 k disc dexter axle and parts are terrable to find what a nightmare
It’s a nightmare for sure!!
I’m outside of Sacramento new sub here
Nice, thank you!! I run I-5 a lot so I’m around Sac frequently.
Sorry this happened, yeah if you can do a bigger trailer (CDL) then that would be bettter.
I would give just about anything to have a bigger setup. I have my Class A Permit, but I have to complete the training crap and I just don’t have time after all this trailer stuff happened and ate up some business savings right when taxes are due 🤕. But, I’ll build back up and find a way!
Is you're back pain any more or less when you're driving a different vehicle? If so, have you considered that your seat might be part of the problem?
I used to travel for work and my travel car was a Volvo 740, then a Volvo 850. They were the two most comfortable cars I've ever owned. I later read online that Volvo has been using orthopedic surgeons on their seat design team since the 70's (I think) to ensure proper back support. I had a Chevy truck with a horrible seat, so I got a Volvo seat from a junkyard and fabricated some custom brackets. It made a huge difference.
It’s definitely the seat in this truck and being in it for long periods of time. I started folding up one of my blankets and putting it on the seat and now it’s way better. I guess we’ll see how long that lasts though.
Ny is flooded also I see 30 a day go past my house getting on exit for I 90 most are empty.
That’s a true story without a doubt!! I see so many hotshots, and at least half of them are empty. Some could be just delivered or headed to pick up a load, but there’s still a big percentage of them empty.
Bro.... you have to stop and bang out your cdl. You need a tandem and 12k axles.
I would love to. I was just about to hire a local guy off the registry to do the behind the wheel training before all of this happened. Now I have to wait a few months or so and build my revenue back up so I can handle it without putting myself In a bind.
What bank did you finance through? Seems like it was a quick process
I went through Synchrony, which isn’t too bad. If you can go through Sheffield instead then I would. Normally I’d just go through my credit union but they are so strict on non essential purchases that the interest rate wasn’t much different and they would have taken longer to approve it, so I just went the quick way.
Hey, I’m sending you an email tonight. Let me know if you don’t get it. Thanks!
I got it. I’m out on the road right now but when I get home in a few days I’ll sit down and write you back and maybe even chat on the phone a bit. 👍👍
Sounds good!
You do know you shouldnt haul over 10000 on those small trailers. 8k axles flatdeck 8600. With max, mega ramps 8000
That’s not true. You’re talking about just the weight the axles can handle, not the weight that transfers to the truck. It can handle 10k.
Why did you go home empty.?
I got to the trailer dealership too late on Friday to get an annual inspection done on the trailer and pick up a load. It’s just the way it worked out.
