Can anyone please help find a non cdl hotshot company to lease on to...??? The reason I don't want to run cdl loads is because of the weight... These newer diesel trucks aren't made to last more than 2 years without a lot major breakdown like these 10 speed transmission that are junk

I hauled a 30' 5th wheel rv from alma arkansas to katy tx on hwy 71 in arkansas that is nothing but hills and winding roads with no issues and I still can't get leased on because of my gas powered engine...smh... I don't get it... my truck casts 4 times less to maintain than a diesel engine

Just out of curiosity, How many of you believe that only diesel is the way to hotshot...???? I've been using my ford E-450 6.8L V-10 cab and chassis dually to move farm equipment, rolls of hay and other things that weighs 12,000 lbs and my gas powered 6.8L V-10 engine did just fine in the hill country in texas... I can't get leased on because I don't have a diesel engine... As a retired mechanic I know what my truck cab do and how to drive it and I can do what a diesel truck can do...!!!!

The one problem is staying in hotels , paying 200k for equipment and spending like it’s luxury like park at a truck stop and a parking lot and you have your restroom and your shower

I have a question I have been acquiring every thing over the past 2 years to get into hotshot trucking. Working on my CDL now and plan on leasing on with someone. My question is I have a 2024 F-450 would you recommend a trailer with 40,000 GVWR or something else?

A somewhat common thing I see is newer people struggling to get loads. Is this usually the case with both non cdl and cdl drivers? Or do cdl holders stand a better chance even when they are newer? I feel there’s something in between the lines I’m not understanding but the load boards I’ve been monitoring look really good. I’ve been able to easily piece together practice runs to simulate the outcome.

Some of your experiances multi drop ,load not what it was supposed to be,up against a delivery on friday and not open on the weekend I did that many times as a driver at 16 cents a mile it sucked never again this was in the mid 80s. Good luck!

My plan as a former coast to coast solo company flatbed driver will be a minimum of 3 weeks out, 4 days home where feasible. I have to keep hauling. I do all my own maintenance. I have no children. It's just me and the dog my plan is to go after my authority and to operate as an pilot car in between when i can I live in Pennsylvania Ihave to carry a 2 million dollar insurance bond my equipment plan is a used International 4700 with a sleeper on chassis w a 40 ft dovetail gooseneck I will go after my brokers license later I'm going back up the scale from an A non-comercial to a B commercial for weight class . I'm a welder with certification as well as a heavy equipment mechanic with equipment chassis electrical systems background. I was a Navy Seabee and a heavy truck driver in the Army Quartermaster's. I grew up around the industry. I don't have all the awncers, and I probably never will ,I take each day as a learning experience this why I'm watching and reading and I'm tired of working in a factory shipping department I'm actually tired of the 9 to 5 ready to giver another go as a HS/ OO my preferred is to be self employed.

Can you tell me if it’s feasible to add a dove tail with ramps onto a flat deck trailer? I'm looking at a 40' PJ gooseneck with tandem duals. Great shape for a good price but no ramp system.
