Me too! It really helps to make choices of simplicity yet fulfilling in your everyday life if possible. I live in the city so far from out in the country where we used to live and yet it is possible to create that peaceful, restful, place and to each it is lived out differently.
Of course it's not too late! It's never too late for a granny-style life we find appealing... Though, one should give it a shot on a probationary basis first...Cause the imagined realization of a dream and the actual realization of a dream are two different things!!! It's so nice to imagine living in a small "Miss Marple" kind of town with 520 inhabitants...But, what if those 520 you don't like, yet those are the only ones to stumble across each an' every day...? It's nice to have that noise/electric devices/what not-free peace (she does catch the internet, though 🤔🙃)...but just imagining doing the laundry in the 19th century makes my back start to hurt... Just sayin'...Make sure you can try and embark or not as you find pleasing... 🤠 Me, I made peace with that keepin' on being just a dream, cause the wooden little houses I found architectured juuust for me turned out to be the ones belonging to billionaires...So... 🙃
Ever since I found this channel I’ve become so much more aware of how beautiful my surroundings are. It was two stories and painted yellow on the inside. She had plants drying, baskets everywhere and a lovely red rocking chair. There were Trunks filled with quilts, a large wood stove, and old wood furniture she had collected and brought across the river via boat. It was glorious! Not everyone likes the charm of cottages and prefer new things but those of us who like the old, well loved and well lived in spaces have a different worldview. Oops, at 3:40 I mean to say that trees tend to grow on slopes facing away from the sun, but of course there are many trees here that grow in full sun, it’s just a tendency in my specific living area due to drought 🙃 3. I know very little about the history of my cottage, only that it was recently built. 4. I do not film the property or other buildings since they do not belong to me, and for privacy reasons. 5. I will showcase the outside of the house in my future garden tour (I will film a garden tour this summer 🌼) 6. I will do a bookshelf tour in the future as well, and will recommend my favorite books! 7. My cottage has a passive solar design, staying quite cool in summer. 8. Much of the filming was done in New Zealand and one of the locations is only 80 miles away from where I live. Have visited and hiked in many of these places.
I used to live on a farm and had only a few movies with no internet. The LOTR box set was one of them, and I watched them with 3 different versions of commentary, it's nice to get an insight to the behind the scenes of what I was watching. A great trilogy for that time of my life

I live a world away from you in suburban Australia... I have a small health challenge that can make my life miserable... One day feeling a wee bit blue I curled up on the bed and scrolled through the portal of RUclips - of course that is when I found your magical place and as I watched I felt my spirits lift... I have been visiting ever since catching up and replaying some... I have found my colours and re realised that I too could see magic - it has always been there - hiding is plain sight - just waiting to be seen... Since the bombardment and stifling of the pandemic our hurried lives were changed... My state in Australia was put into one of the strictest lockdowns for quite a number of months and we lost time with our families and friends. As we slowly emerged there are those of us that don't want to return to the frantic turn-around lives we had... We had found that amongst the darkness we had our own islands of peace that spoke a language of all the things about which you speak of too... I honestly screamed when I saw your collection of Tolkien books. I just finished binge-watching all three movies. 😊
Much of the filming was done in New Zealand and one of the locations is only 80 miles away from where I live. Have visited and hiked in many of these places.
I used to live on a farm and had only a few movies with no internet. The LOTR box set was one of them, and I watched them with 3 different versions of commentary, it's nice to get an insight to the behind the scenes of what I was watching. A great trilogy for that time of my life

I live a world away from you in suburban Australia... I have a small health challenge that can make my life miserable... One day feeling a wee bit blue I curled up on the bed and scrolled through the portal of RUclips - of course that is when I found your magical place and as I watched I felt my spirits lift... I have been visiting ever since catching up and replaying some... I have found my colours and re realised that I too could see magic - it has always been there - hiding is plain sight - just waiting to be seen...
Since the bombardment and stifling of the pandemic our hurried lives were changed... My state in Australia was put into one of the strictest lockdowns for quite a number of months and we lost time with our families and friends. As we slowly emerged there are those of us that don't want to return to the frantic turn-around lives we had... We had found that amongst the darkness we had our own islands of peace that spoke a language of all the things about which you speak of too... That there is another way - an approach to living a fulfilled life and taking pleasure in the simple things which are of course the most valuable...

I dont know how people can not like your beautiful cottage. I would love to live in such a beautiful space. You are so lucky being able to make the space your own by painting and wall papering. In Australia its mostly a real no no to even put up a picture hook up without permission let alone painting etc. I love the clothes you wear but havent you got anything more heavy duty for winter.
