As a 16 yo person ( soon 17 omg) who dream of the exact same thing, I can assure you that if you really want that, it won't go away even if you get older. (Sorry for my English 😅 I'm French actually-)
I live on the countryside and experienced it too, that in cities most people are anonymous whereas on the countryside people still talk to strangers and you get to know each other quicker because you're depending on each other.
It's because they're cozy-er than hardbacks, which are more sturdy and solemn and to be kept in perfect condition, displayed and looked at, collected and signed with precious dedications, whereas paperbacks are soft and cozy and forgiving, it's like they're meant for highlights and scribbled notes and dog ears, to just be read and held. Lol, I 100% prefer paperbacks as well if you couldn't tell😅
You totally live in the little cottage of miss Honey, in Matilda's book ! "‘Matilda hung back. She was a bit frightened of this place now. It seemed so unreal and remote and fantastic and so totally away from this earth. It was like an illustration in Grimm or Hans Andersen. Growing up on military bases and often faced with more painful realities of this world, I learned to find little ways to recenter and find wholesomeness and peace in the midst of everything. hi guys this is for the people who are watching these videos and feeling like to leave everything behind and live in a country side, but for many people it is not so much possible due to various reasons, I just want to say in order to live slowly and to connect with nature you don’t purposely have to leave every thing tho, you can achieve by doing many things like taking a short trip to country side or mountains, maybe leaving your phone for 24 hours (highly recommended), go on a hike, another small thing you can do is buy plants to fill up your room to have the cottage feels, also plants are great friends! do some nature diys/ projects. Comment more if you think of something, have a great day! 🪴🍄
absolutely - I encourage in many of my videos to embrace where you are at and fill your life with what brings you joy, that moving is not the answer and not always feasible. Happiness is cultivated within and not a location :)

Some answers to common questions: the cottage is a rental - my mother lives right next door 🤍 I did not build it (wish I could!) The shower is an outdoor extension. I use a compost toilet, and my appliances are portable so I put them in cupboards when I’m not using them :) Those are Mexican Sour Gherkin in the video! @@sipitak8702 Yes, this lifestyle can be very hard work physically, particularly if you live off-grid. It's OK if you are young and healthy or have good support from others, but can be very wearying.
@@prokkle I did it for 20 years but had a much bigger home to fit a family of 5. We had a well that pumped water in & a water heater. Because I love a deep bath. But like you said we get older & can't keep up with the animals, then the garden. When we get old we have move closer to the burbs ,so it's not a day trip to the Drs. When old grand ma & grandpa have the spend alot of time at the dr.s to try to keep living long enough to see the grand kids off to college !😊

This reminds me of the setting in Winnie the Pooh, it's so lovely and peaceful. I myself want to live in the country when I'm older. I live in Ireland in a big city currently. Its lovely but I would rather live in the countryside, where its peaceful. We go on trips to my mother's hometown, a beautiful little town in Clare. It's a real 1950s town, which i love so much. Its tiny, but it's my favourite place on earth. It has beautiful beaches, but they arent tropical, which i love about them. They are small with old fashioned caravans, one of which my family own ourselves! There is just so many fields and acres and forests. It is truly amazing. Thank you for sharing this with us

Hello, what a spectacular landscape! I treasure the magic in childhood and I managed to keep secret that magic somehow inside me, I still have those special children books and precious toys, at last coming out to life again for my daughter very first child this may 2021 ;). Watching your video is a real pleasure, I am actually looking for a small farm house somewhere in France in a preserved nature, I am french nearly 60 and happy to be free from work, free from the busy town and hoppefully to be able to enjoy my own time and life even with my little money. I am still learning today about myself and its great. In life, downs have their purpose, we have to make choices. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin said "You are not a human being in search of a spiritual experience. You are a spiritual being immersed in a human experience" that's changing a lot of my vision of life all together. We are living a challenge and we have to make it beautifull. Bien à vous.

I guess do your research figure out where you want to live, have a real estate agent scout for you or buy a piece of land and go from there. I live in the city also, my goal is to buy land somewhere, buy a cute storage shed and turn it into a small house.

But like you said we get older & can't keep up with the animals, then the garden. When we get old we have move closer to the burbs ,so it's not a day trip to the Drs. When old grand ma & grandpa have the spend alot of time at the dr.s to try to keep living long enough to see the grand kids off to college !😊

This reminds me of the setting in Winnie the Pooh, it's so lovely and peaceful. I myself want to live in the country when I'm older. I live in Ireland in a big city currently. Its lovely but I would rather live in the countryside, where its peaceful.
We go on trips to my mother's hometown, a beautiful little town in Clare. It's a real 1950s town, which i love so much. Its tiny, but it's my favourite place on earth. It has beautiful beaches, but they arent tropical, which i love about them. They are small with old fashioned caravans, one of which my family own ourselves! There is just so many fields and acres and forests. It is truly amazing.

Hello, what a spectacular landscape! I treasure the magic in childhood and I managed to keep secret that magic somehow inside me, I still have those special children books and precious toys, at last coming out to life again for my daughter very first child this may 2021 ;). Watching your video is a real pleasure, I am actually looking for a small farm house somewhere in France in a preserved nature, I am french nearly 60 and happy to be free from work, free from the busy town and hoppefully to be able to enjoy my own time and life even with my little money. I am still learning today about myself and its great. In life, downs have their purpose, we have to make choices. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin said "You are not a human being in search of a spiritual experience. You are a spiritual being immersed in a human experience" that's changing a lot of my vision of life all together. We are living a challenge and we have to make it beautifull. Bien à vous.
