I have seen these techniques used in real time years ago in South Korea, during a very specific competition called Taekkyun Battle, where only kicks and takedowns are allowed. You may have heard of it considering that you’ve been to Korea. These timed sweeps techniques are a core part of Teakkyun training, but being a well advanced technique I have actually seen only two men using it in sparring or competition. One of them was amazing. His timing for sweeping was just pure beauty, I actually think his sweeping techniques were world class. If I find back the videos of his competition years I will post it here. In my opinion it’s the sweetest sweep techniques you can find. It’s great to see such a high level and skilled fighter as you Jeff doing it. My best regards.
This was one of the first techniques I learned when I started training. Since I knew very little at the time I used it a lot and therefore it has been incorporated into my style from the beginning. It is very interesting to compare styles and how small things we learn even at the earliest stages of training develop our identities as fighters.
Iv done muay Thai for about 11 years but have never seen a sweep like this before very smart and I will definitely be adding this into my arsenal amazing thank u for sharing this
Right. That’s what I seek to become great at, recognizing the “inevitabilities” in battle and taking advantage of them!!! Nice one to point out Jeff. Find & show more. 🙏🏾
If you want to get more fancy, you can actually sweep the oppents rear leg. I.e make contact with the check and continue following through and because his feet is pointed downward you can drive your leg downward (45°) and attack his other ankle. Thats why my Muay Thai coach makes us have our feet and toes flexed (almost in a sidekick chamber). My coah has outscored many fighters in professional bouts with this sweeping technique.
But you're only able to execute the sweep because Ben is performing the check incorrectly. When he checks he should not be extending his foot in front of him. This, as you rightly expect, will force him to drop his weight in front of him, placing him off balance. A proper check is one where the foot stays underneath your torso, not extended in front of you. Upon checking the kick, one's hip slightly turns to check the kick to the side. This way one always keeps his weight above his feet.
That’s so smooth, but i feel like it helps that they have shin pads on/ ankle wraps to add grip. I’m not a pro mma fighter though. Would love to see this pulled off in the octagon
@@MMAShredded because your videos keep popping up on my feed and i enjoy making fun of them. why you still sandbagging against fitness students? of course you do another demonstration of shit that you dont actually use in fights on a fitness student. anything for content.

you cant pull it off cause its a low percentage move that doesnt actually work in a real fight. you should stick to refining your basic techniques that actually work.
My Kru showed us this exact technique few days ago and im still falbbergasted. It is probably my favorite sweep now since it looks and feels so effortless and clean when done right. (havent pulled it off in actual sparring yet).
Fantastic timing and eye leg coordination. Read technique i used to use for checking kicks is the teep for checking leg kicks and round kicks when done correctly it can throw your opponent off balance squaring him up and making him vulnerable for attack
@@Adam-de8yi wont work against someone who knows how to fight. this is a low percentage move that rarely ever works. wasting time on learning something like this is better spent on high percentage moves that you actually use in real fights. watch jeffs fights. he doesnt do none of the fancy bullshit he shows in his youtube channel. he knows it dont work in real fights. but he needs youtube content so he shows the masses these dumb techniques.
Even if you don’t get the trip it turns the opponent and gives you a great angle and since your foot will hit the ground first you can move before they can.
I love your content literally every single thing you show works when I go try it in sparring and people wonder where the fuck I learned this new shit from 😂 I’ll never tell tho 🤫
This only works though if there really checking that leg kick.. don't wanna get caught with a clean straight or hook when doing a leg raise... Definitely a smart tactic tho when used properly.

@@MMAShredded what's your email 😂

The sambo/systema guys are next level with these techniques. Great video 👊
