The Chinese subtitles for Ranton at the start literally just says"One, two, three, four., five, six, seven. Where is my friend. You are my little apple" which is absolutely hilarious.
Their hallway approach was a much better idea than Jeff and Jesse. They're funneled in a hallway so you're tackling 1 or 2 guys instead of 4, it only failed because they stopped short. Natan also had a longer reach weapon, which kept them at a distance, and should've been very effective in head shots.
@@JZStudiosonline meh. when you are ambushing someone from somewhere you can't see from, then you put yourself at a disadvantage from the start, as you saw in their example. ranton was hiding well, but behind a closed door, so he wasn't just hidden from them, they were also hidden from him and had gotten out a second earlier he would have been right in between 4 attackers with knives, while jesse wasn't as well hidden, but could actually ambush them, because he could tell were they were. trust me, i have never been in a situation like that, so i've got to have all the right answers. or something like that

The clip in the video was not the actual conversation we had. It was Craig confirming we're going solo right before the attackers were about to come in. Craig was all good with it and it worked out in the end as we both did really well in the challenge. It's tough to get the full context when it's edited to be fast paced so I just wanted to clear up a few misconceptions.

Craigs biggest benefit in all of this is his lack of assumption. 5 trained fighters confident in their skills, consistently underestimating things, pulling punches etc... 1 dude who rightfully assumes everything is a credible threat and is alert for any advantage he can have at all times. So far if anything has been proven it's that self-defense is as much about mind-set as it is everything else. We saw this in Season 1 with Rokas himself who consistently felt he was outclassed by the rest of the group, and consistently performed very well because he had a mindset of vigilance.
Yeah, you should always have the idea that even if the threat seems very miniscule you should get any advantage possible. Your chances of failing something are never zero.

I think having a regular bloke, still decently sized and strong is actually the best thing about this, it shows the reality of chaos of daily life or street fights. Every single one would absolutely destroy Craig on the mat or in the ring, but in real life anything can happen, training as shown helps a lot, but there can be so many variables in real life, that even if you are trained its best to avoid the fights, im surprised how this season no one tried to talk their way out of the fights, cause i do think this can work. P.s thanks for amazing content as always; I guess in street anything can happen and i was surprised how a regular bloke can actually hold its own in certain scenarios. I watched a little bit of the season one version of this that you guys did, and I just want to just say the step up in production value and quality is just fantastic. You help us get to know the contestants better, it's more clear what martial arts are being used in each scenario, you have the fighters in more distinctly differently colored gear to help us easily differentiate them - and just generally the pacing and storytelling is significantly improved. And of course, the edition of Craig is top tier. Fantastic job guys, I can't wait to watch the rest of this series!
First of all ROKAS. Thank you for this super realistic show. I took many hours of your effort to do this. I really appreciate and thank you to show people what real defense looks like compared to unrealistic moves. I hope you saved some lifes in this world by this. I know what happened to you with your leg and honestly it pissed me off knowing how careless some people behave today.
USDC II has exceeded my very high expectations! This was so much fun. I m rooting for Jesse all the way. Also, the inclusion of a "regular guy" seems genius. I very much like to see the difference in mindset when compared to professional athletes. Remarkable work everyone and especially Rokas for making this a reality.
MAAAAAAN Jesse and Jeff fighting those 4 dudes was like a fucking kung fu movie that was SICK. And Jesse using actual knife defense techniques was excellent too. Can't wait for the next one!!!
Great first episode! At first I wasn't digging the non linear nature of the edit but as it went on I appreciated it and that choice actually kept me engaged throughout. Can't wait for episode two. Worth the wait.
Yea because the regular guys are using unfair tactics to win. You can argue that that’s how street fights work, but when fighters are cocky about their abilities they mean 1v1 no weapons. Most fighters know that street fights are unfair.
Just stumbled on this channel. The USDC is amazing!!! I studied Whardo and was never able to explain to people that it is a mixed martial arts purely devoted to self defense. This series is awesome, because I can finally show people the practical side to martial arts, and how it applies to every day life. Thank you so much for putting this together😁
I love this I followed your journey from aikido to MMA and now this. I am a lifelong karate ka this is real great to watch and I love the zombies at the end. Great job I wish you continued success keep up the good work. Good luck.

Craig being just a normal guy was actually an advantage in the awaraness challenge lol everyone elese was going for the fight, australia dude went for the survive
I just watched season 1 last week so I'm super excited season 2 is already going! Thinking forward to season 3 some challenge ideas I had are: - Active shooter simulation with paint balls - Home invasion where the goal is to escape with all of your family - Escaping an emergency situation where others may inadvertently harm you while also trying to escape
It cannot be understated how situational awareness is !!!! A few months ago it literally saved me from getting robbed by a guy with a knife. 😬 I am thankful to have listened to my gut feeling.
I'm glad you made it, man. Thanks for your hard work. It's a great show with an incredible cast. As a karateka, I'm rooting for Jesse. But I loved all the contestants. I see you next week!
Thank you Rokas, great to see the Ultimate Self defence show back. A great eclectic mix of contestants too. Great to see Jesse Enkamp there, and very interesting having a “normal Aussie bloke” there too. Can’t wait until the next episode. I always think one of the great tests is when you have them fighting on the bus! I think the biggest “props” goes to your girlfriend filming them without having any protection!😊 Anyway, well done for getting another one together, despite all the health issues you have had to deal with!
Glad to have this series back, but gotta give some criticism for the first challenge. Natan made a perfect example of the flaw in the rules. What I mean is the "bad guys" having a big adventage in a sense that they don't have to respect the guys fighting back. Getting smacked with a stick across the face and brushing it off like nothing, a stick/staff not being usable for thrusting attacks due to it not being a real wooden weapon is also quite a nerf. The attackers feel like game NPCs with infinite health that you have to somehow cheese to win. And sure, some people might get smacked in the head and try to rush you, but they sure won't do it like they don't care if they get smacked again. Sorry for the long rant, I just feel like while it's a huge improvement from last year, there is still a few issues that make it less fair/realistic in certain situations/aspects.

"I came in not as the underdog, but the under-cockroach-" I love Ranton!
Wow, the trailer for the next day already showing Natan throwing a spinning back kick and an axe kick to an opponent on the ground :O I guess he really did manage to change his mindset!
Maybe he imagined it was a Palestinan
@@MrAgit62 not even 5 minutes in and bro was pulling the antisemitism card, shit cracked me up
@@shraeg normal for jews
@@MrAgit62 If he imagined that why didn't he just call for a f-16 while drinking the Aussie's beers?
@@shraeg Well it's a legitimate card. There's a lot of antisemitism going on right now.
So I'm already mad lol.
Whaat?! What did I do? 😂
@@MartialArtsJourney You introduced belt and trophy. Have a look at the last season what mike was fond about and you gonna know.
😂
@@MartialArtsJourney IcyMike was the one who got the closest to the tree in season one and got 0 points I believe, under this score sistem he woulded got 6 points for sure.
Sad you're not here this season
I watched a little bit of the season one version of this that you guys did, and I just want to just say the step up in production value and quality is just fantastic. You help us get to know the contestants better, it's more clear what martial arts are being used in each scenario, you have the fighters in more distinctly differently colored gear to help us easily differentiate them - and just generally the pacing and storytelling is significantly improved. And of course, the edition of Craig is top tier. Fantastic job guys, I can't wait to watch the rest of this series!
Is no one gonna talk about Jesse's knife disarm?
Bro used BUNKAI
Way to go
That was one of the top 3 moments in this episode for me. I hope we get to see more Bunkai application from him.
Well bunkai is basically karate
@@BayKedi-MrCatBunkai is the soul of Karate.
@@X-Kid_Z bunkai isnt soul of it, bunkai is karate itself🤦
the attack seemed at like 20% speed and aggression...
You know what. I’m voting for Craig. He used common sense and common sense is the best self defense
I like that his strategy was to just lay down in some bushes and then just walk out the door. He almost made it, too.
Ranton’s intro fit him perfectly 😂 LETS GOOO
Haha. Agreed
LOL why is he from North Korea?
When I saw the “Pyongyang” I was like this is Ranton’s editing for sure lmao
@@MYung023 Especially when the backdrop is a crop field somewhere in Germany. :D
@@PaulDickau-l2yAHAHAH yea climate can't hide it
lol ranton opening the door awkwardly expecting a hug that is so ranton
A series like this would bring spike tv back from the grave. Dopest series ever
Lmfao!!!! First homie got caught slacking with them crocs 😂
That had me rolling because it’s not like he is not in a self defense challenge 😅
😂💯
USDC II has exceeded my very high expectations! This was so much fun. I m rooting for Jesse all the way.
Also, the inclusion of a "regular guy" seems genius. I very much like to see the difference in mindset when compared to professional athletes.
Remarkable work everyone and especially Rokas for making this a reality.
🙏🙏🙏
I'm hoping this gets remonetized as it's really high value educational content. Great season so far!
Thank you Jean Philippe!
Rokas is a master!!🎉
I thought the exact same thing! I think it still needs some improvement, but it definitely can work. Well done, Rokas. We appreciate you!
Thanks for making this possible, brother! I hope you leg is healing up well. Looking forward to the next episode!!
other fighter: "im very confident, i have a lot of martial arts in my background and im very thoughtful"
Craig: i bought beers 😀
I love this show already ‼️
also ranton "i am a cockroach"
I love that Craig got the most points on the first day.😂
Never thought I'd see "Truck Driver" in S tier of different martial arts ranked for SD, but I am so here for it!
Regular guy beating martial artists just by not being arrogant about his abilities. Now that's a proper lesson in humility
Yea because the regular guys are using unfair tactics to win. You can argue that that’s how street fights work, but when fighters are cocky about their abilities they mean 1v1 no weapons. Most fighters know that street fights are unfair.
@@Steste561still
@@Steste561 yeah, still.
What's fair in a fight where you're trying to seriously injure someone? Fair fight is two people in the street allowed to do anything?
I like this makes it look like Jesse just wears his Karate-Gi as his regular street clothes.
This is the best! "Just some Aussie guy" is currently leading the way
Craig is the main character of the story.
Thanks heaps!! 🍻 But the boys are all legends, they are all the main characters I reckon.. 🤙🏻
Thanks!
Daamn Jesse and Jeff went for all the smoke lmao
The editing here is simply amazing, can't wait for the next episodes hahahahahaha
Thank you 🙏
Rokas is genius!
I love this I followed your journey from aikido to MMA and now this. I am a lifelong karate ka this is real great to watch and I love the zombies at the end. Great job I wish you continued success keep up the good work. Good luck.
26:22 Ladies and gentlemen, we just witnessed a murder
No more Mr nice guy 💀🔫
Hooooly shit
Facing 6 knife attackers is not a self defense scenario. That's an all out gang war .......you need to call the cops for that.
LMFAOOO
Call the cops and then… what? You have to hide and fight.
@@nekomoves1714 thats why im laughing cus this challenge is kind of stupid lmao
@@nekomoves1714 Hide. That's all you can do. I doubt even Donnie Yen or Jackie Chan could handle six at a time.
We all have been waiting for this! Thank you!
I hope you are doing well, brother. God bless!
Rokas, I barely comment on RUclips , but thank you for bringing us this season, especially with the insane journey you had to go through. What a terrific start ❤️
Thank you
2:30 this text says "1 2 3 4 5 6 7" , the one after that says "where are my friends" and the one after that says "you are my little apple" for anyone who was wondering (in chinese)
This scratches an analytical martial arts itch that nothing else does. Thank you!!
16:05 AINT NO WAY BRO DID A WHOLE BATMAN ARKHAM ASYLUM STEALTH TAKEDOWN MID FIGHT 😭😭☠️
@@mr.sketser1468 HAHAHA I was thinking of that too. The knife disarm was like one of the combo disarms too lol.
Truly beautiful
Jesse is a beast lol
That show is the most exciting and game chamging thing about martial arts ever since UFC1,
I have to agree.... Do you like Season 2 beginning better than Season 1 so far? I do.
@@truchonj yes the production level went up
Craig being just a normal guy was actually an advantage in the awaraness challenge lol everyone elese was going for the fight, australia dude went for the survive
🤙🏻
Wow this hits so much more knowing that you battled through long covid and a crazy BJJ injury to make this happen! Thank you Rokas! Truly admirable
Thank you 😊🙏 It was a tough journey but I'm really glad it all turned out well!
It really is, I watch a lot of content and I don't think I have ever seen so bad luck to someone so undeserving of it...
Yep crazy
Have been so keen to see this season. Way to put yourself out there Rokas and create something so brilliant. This will be huge it's amazing!!!!
Thank you
Craig proving Dad Strength and Swinging for the fences works suprisingly well
I just watched season 1 last week so I'm super excited season 2 is already going!
Thinking forward to season 3 some challenge ideas I had are:
- Active shooter simulation with paint balls
- Home invasion where the goal is to escape with all of your family
- Escaping an emergency situation where others may inadvertently harm you while also trying to escape
bro the editing was actually insane man wtffffffffffff well worth the wait, glad you took care of your health 1st
Thanks!
I really love this man. I can see you have learned from the previous season. Keep up the good work! Thanks everyone who helped create this.
It cannot be understated how situational awareness is !!!! A few months ago it literally saved me from getting robbed by a guy with a knife. 😬 I am thankful to have listened to my gut feeling.
The key part of Craig’s plan isn’t whether drinking beer right beforehand is going to effect him, it’s about whether it’ll affect everyone else ;)
Haha 😅
Yeah it's a smart ninja move to reduce his competitors' abilities by giving them beer!
This is genuinely some of the best content I’ve seen on RUclips. Keep it up!
Oh yes baby Season 2 on RUclips
I'm glad you made it, man. Thanks for your hard work. It's a great show with an incredible cast. As a karateka, I'm rooting for Jesse. But I loved all the contestants. I see you next week!
This is the best both educative and entertaining series I have seen in a while! Congrats to all participants and organizers :)
I think the biggest “props” goes to your girlfriend filming them without having any protection!😊
Anyway, well done for getting another one together, despite all the health issues you have had to deal with!
Feedback received
Glad you're going through all of the comments and taking your time to listen to your audience, big respect there, and keep up the good work
@@MartialArtsJourney thats so cool
Thanks for making season 2. This is my favorite show. 🎉
Awesome!
The detail of creg's jersey having a cross on the last person then creg in marker is awesome
"No more nice guy" I'm thrilled!
Moment I saw Craig at the door with a slab over his shoulder for a self defence situation I was like “love my countrymen”
🇦🇺🍻
My favourite youtube show is back and looking even better.
