      Yellow is also tricky because a lot of yellows are transparent which makes them disappear even more. You can try mixing in some titanium white (just a bit) to help them be a bit more opaque too.

      Maybe you have an easy answer to another problem I can’t yet resolve. Using artist’s loft white and water base paint and tube colours/water colour paints and Dutch pour technique on both canvas and tiles, the white gradually creeps over the colours, leaving little patches of colour. I’m getting loads of lacing and cells. Consistency is the same for all mixes and runny enough to blow out with mouth or hairdryer. I’m happy to keep wasting paint but if you can suggest a solution it’ll save me time and materials. Maybe the white should be a little less viscous ( thin and thick are such ambiguous terms in fluid art)? The problem was even worse when I mixed in Floetrol

    In watercolors it's important to know which pigments are staining, granulating, opaque etc so I'm no stranger to studying pigment information. But I had no idea Golden made pigment density available! That's so neat.

      That is actually a good point about watercolors. So many things we can learn there that overlap. Thanks Ramo.

      I enjoy learning about the science behind some of the fluid pours and to then experiment with the how's and why's. Having said that I don't always understand, however your explanation and the way in which you present things is great. I like to explore outside the box so to speak. Thanks again.

    Thank you for another amazing tutorial!, interesting....just yesterday I was asking a friend about paint weight cause he knows those things.
    We talked about it and it was great, but your diagrams made it understandable and you using the paint made it real. Can’t beat the visual 😳

    Andrew Wang would be proud of you, because MATH! You are so delightful smart and well spoken thank you! PS: it drives me nuts when artists ALWAYS put white first in their ringpour cups because you end up dumping off the colors and having the white center.

    • @LeftBrainedArtist
      @LeftBrainedArtist  3 года назад +2

      This guy is guilty as charged on that front. I've had a few come out nice and bright in the center but I don't do that anymore unless I am doing a flip cup. That center has to have the best colors now for a ring pour/straight pour. Thanks Ava.

    Wow! Your video has helped me soooo much! I have used the Golden paint list to try to match up names of paints, but it hasn’t always worked. So, I picked up a Master’s Touch tube of Cobalt Blue and there it is… PB28 (Ultramarine) and PW6 (Titanium White) which makes this particular blue 4.5 x the specific gravity of water. I have subscribed and rang the bell to receive all of your videos. Again, thank you!
