Well done Colin, you’ve got to take them as they come. As you said, there are busy and quiet times when detecting. However, good to see the small utility piece used by an ancient worker or artist. Either way a necessary item of survival in those rough aul’ times. Great find.

Proper splann ancient BA find Colin. It may well be a chisel, however, it may also be votive, made for giving up to the Gods, or perhaps made as child's minature axe-head also. If it was a chisel the narrow end might not be curved, in my op. But if an expert has recorded it as a chisel, so be it 😊. I have a bigger version of the one that you are holding that I found many moons ago at Llanrhystud, W. Cymru. Mine was made of copper, so really ancient, and useless as a tool as it is softer than bronze. It is: Votive/High Status according to the recording of it's identical twin at Aberystwyth Museum listed as, Copper Age votive flat axe-head. These ancient artefacts "speak to us" across the millenia I think Colin.🏴‍☠👊😎👍.

Hasn’t been through the process yet Tim , love the sound of a possible votive or child’s piece . ID based on members with similar finds , like yourself, so you never know might be exactly as you say fingers crossed 🤞 As always Tim cheers ya legend 👍🏻😎
