The view is glad on the eye. Some proper good finds comin' from it, too. Colin, don't bother too much with numbers, dig the tones man. Cut 1/4s, sceats and I A 1/4 golds throw shite numbers; none at all below 8ish. The dinty "round" (same 'both ways'), low - mid tones are the ones; the high tones are the "easier money". Relying on 'the 'silicone obsession' vdi numbers will blag you shite-less😉. No offence meant, not trying to be bold just trying to be of help. I'd not say a word if I didn't think you were a proper sound-out. VDI is great for setting some modes. Thats all I ever use it for.....but each to their own, of course🖐. I recommend you buy yourself a copy of "The Bible": (Advanced Detecting. How to Improve your Technique and Finds Rate. By John 'Lynn' ) Amazon. Inexpensive yet priceless. John is yer man I was on about a while back, Colin, when I said that each year he used to take his I A staters down to London to sell. Before he went West, John had already forgotten more'n I'll ever learn. He was some sound sort of a fella: A gifted one 😊😎👊👍.
When you talk Tim , rest assured I listen.I’ve a detector buddy who only listens to the sound , a lot of his finds are displayed in the museum . Something I’m trying to teach myself , but my inexperience in the hobby has me still looking at the numbers and graphs etc , . After 18 months I’m only starting to listen properly, but it’ll be an age and a day before I’m anyways confident enough to rely on the sound only , but I agree with you , a good few of my detectorist buddies are sound only. Colin, another great video with honest to God content and great finds. That lady had a great first silver. Made her day, as it would ours, with many a re run of the find for sure!! You made small potatoes o’that half crown when the rest of us would be in raptures!! Great coin, design, and a ‘38. Each other coin, great joy, with an aul’ penknife an’ gun adding chuckle to excitement. Then for yourself, that hammered, that feeling, wanting to shout at the sky and the excitement. Great times.
