I think the 4th and 5th season are more optional endings but the true ending of the show I love was the finale of season 3 it ended open which is perfect for this show

For Season 6 this would have been a great half season storyline, all between the months where Michael was gone after Lucille 2 went missing. Then the final half of the season buster gets the death penalty or is put in a mental hospital

I don't think Buster killed her. I think "Okay, I did it" meant he was the one who kept her body and eventually put it in the wall.. He was way too shocked when he found her body on the staircar. I think her death was a result of all the Bluth family stress bringing back her chronic vertigo, and she fell. Buster needing a mother figure who would never leave him is probably why he kept the body he discovered.

Seasons 4&5 weren't as bad as some people make them out to be. The tone of the show & length of the episodes changed. Plus keep in mind that the first 3 seasons were extraordinarily good lightning in a bottle. You just can't replicate lightning in a bottle especially in gaps of 5 years. Full House tried it, X Files tried it, some episodes are great but the expectations of the fans because of the initial runs were sky high.

Also, why would Buster say "doesn't she remind you of mom?" Either he's totally insane at this point, or it's not Lucille 2 who fell out of the wall. Also, Buster says "I did it" - not "I killed her." He could mean almost anything. Anyway, I think it's s'posed to be ambiguous.

None of that depends on him believing himself to have pushed her.

David Cross (Tobias) said in an interview that filming was awful & no one enjoyed it, compared with the fun earlier seasons.
The later seasons weren’t as great as the first 3 but I did pleasantly enjoy them. Gob and Tobias carried them for me.

Also, why would Buster say "doesn't she remind you of mom?" Either he's totally insane at this point, or it's not Lucille 2 who fell out of the wall. Also, Buster says "I did it" - not "I killed her." He could mean almost anything. Anyway, I think it's s'posed to be ambiguous.
He definitely admitted to killing Lucille multiple times during the season, once you go back and rewatch it
Hell he admitted to it just before this, Lindsay says “I found out buster pushed her down some stairs “ and he replies “ Lucille 2 is you’re mother?!”

He brings up Lucille 2 not to confess to pushing her, but to articulate what Lindsay didn't spell out that she'd heard, and because he *knows* he's not accused of pushing Lucille 1 (Lindsay's mother, to Buster) down any stairs, so he's asking for clarification. None of that depends on him believing himself to have pushed her.

The 4th and 5th season were bad. This ending, however, was decent enough. The symbolism of Michael trying constantly to get away from his family and never succeeding.
