The Minor Royals are confused by a homeless man, the Benefits family go shopping, and in 'When Life Was Simpler' the chaps plan a simple trip to the North Pole. - Развлечения
God how they are missed. When we see the pap that the BBC put out now we see these giants of British comedy in their true glory.
>he still watches broadcast television
They're not even dead yet you know, you are just slowly coming to the realisation that the world that gave you Harry and Paul can no longer entertain you, just as much as I can no longer invoke the spirit of our lord and saviour Rik Mayall
It's called getting old.
The power of David Jason compels you!
From “parking pataweyo” to the movie “get out” he’s come a long way
He will always be parking Pataweyo to me.
Eagerly awaiting Parking Pataweyo: The Movie
He'll always be Tealeaf to me from psychoville
@@daveyoung9218 Commodities Tealeaf!
@@dickterpene8697 hands off my holy of holies
As a Scotsman, I am offended that the uptight Scotsman and the overly chilled Scotsman are fucking bang on accurate!
The former is just the average SNP MP!
@@alexhando8541 you mean average MP. They're all arseholes.
Never has there been a better comedic duo in my opinion and in truth.
Worthy heirs to Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson.
Hale and Pace did some great stuff. Check out the tortoise sketch. They definitely laid the path for Harry and Paul
Steptoe and son?!
Give over. Laurel and Hardy obviously.
Vic and Bob beat them all.
It's not always "laugh out loud" comedy but it's always fucking exquisite.
The yuppy at the start is pretty much James Acaster
Lol exactly
😂😂
But I can watch the yuppy... HATE and cannot stand James Acaster.
😂😂😂😂
Spot on .....
Love how Paul Whitehouse even captures Larry's smirking when he's not supposed to be
that Alison Steadman impersonation and the whole Mike Leigh film is spot on, just superb
Yeah - I was thinking it's a mixture of Alison Steadman in "Life Is Sweet" and Marion Bailey in "Meantime"
All of the women comedians/actors are superb and tend to go unmentioned or unassociated with the success of the best modern British comedy sketch shows. Caroline Shepherd and Sophie Winkleman are two other examples (both from the Peep Show and Mitchell & Webb).
I can't bear Alison Steadman who is the same annoying character in everything - Abigail's Party, Gavin and Stacey etc.
Big Suze!
@@leec6707 So not true!
Sometime in the future historians will use series like this as a prime source for studying British society
Hi, I'm from the future and I'm sorry but you were wrong.
It's all about lads dressing like lasses now , for some fucking reason and no one studies British society because that's a social construct (There's no such thing as 'British' , you bigot)
Brilliant. Harry and Enfield and Paul Whitehouse have been two of the funniest men in Britain for years.
Farmgate Films I thought Blair & Brown took some beating personally. THOSE 2 CUNTS WERE HILARIOUS WITHOUT EVEN FUCKING TRYING
Not to mention the shower of clowns they used as backing
definitely
beaten only by Mitchell and Webb
Have been? Did they die?
Paul whitehouse as the gypsy curse woman - brilliant!
As observational comedy about the different strata of English society, this is spot on. Some people commenting prefer their early stuff, but I think this is spot on, and slightly more acerbic in places. Great stuff!
Kevin Eldon's ability to say 'anyway', both repeatedly and effortlessly, is quite remarkably enjoyable.
Kevin Eldon is so good, as is Mark Heap.
Kevin Eldon the actor is of course amazing in everything.
The actor Kevin Eldon
Parking Pataweyo went and became a Hollywood movie star. Good for him
The box set gambit aged gracefully.
+Joseph Knight Ahead of the curve there.
now (2018) they.d be bragging about how many movie sites they are members of.
"Oh..no..not Netflix..we watch HBO...i cant believe you don't watch HBO!"
Hbo? What's that?
Curb your Enthusiam is amazing but I love how they deconstructed it.
Paul Whitehouse's Scotsman is peerlessly genius.
Which one is it that does the parking attendant?
Daniel Kaluuya
Spot on billy Connolly 🤣
Used to have a Citron Bedroom Pissing. Most reliable motor I've ever had.
"I quite like yuppies. They contribute to the trickle down effect from which we all benefit."
The only stuff that trickles down from them is the bullshit 🤣🤣
Thanks for Harry and Paul amongst others for keeping the UK comedy flame alight
Oh I wish this was a while back, annoying really.
As a Scot I can confirm we are all like those two. One or the other but we are them.
Samwisegamgee The Brave oh yes also there’s some like Jimmy Somerville that’s where you fit in 👍
Our beer isn't really better, it's just 3 million different brand names for the same 5 flavours of piss. The Scots wazz on us from a great height where whiskey is concerned tho
@@oscartravis5740 You mean whisky. The Irish make whiskey. As a proud Scot I'm deeply offended by your misspelling of our national drink.
@@NoxiousRob you say whisky, I say whiskey, let's call the whole thing a homophonic disagreement 😂🥃
'Everything's better in Scotland.' I'm English, and lived in Edinburgh for 5 years ... spot on.
Why would you do a thing like that?

Work experience is bang on , i see these creatures in real life , not even a waste of a good skin.
Just brilliant. So glad these are still up.
"We've got a friend who still says series instead of season, he is such a wanker compared to us"
You're joking, you can't be series.
@@allwrighty100 Wiseau Series?
It is episode a season is like winter or autumn and while we are at it fall is an action not a season.
Sophie could barely contain herself.
@@breasthound cheers, didn't notice that before.
Great riff on Alison Steadman playing the same bloody character for forty years.
This is amazing...I love it! Im glad theyre back on telly...I never thought id see them again..
"How was your abortion, Shirley?"
Gets me every time!! 😂
"I've had better"
Harry And Paul S04E02 0857am 28.2.23 i started buying box sets due to harry pointing out that people become vastly superior to their fellow man when they buy a box set... o yeah... soi did. started buying box sets. sorry and are you being served.
Actually spat me beer out.
The Curb Your Enthusiasm sketches are amazing, Paul and the actress playing Susie look more like Larry and Susie than they do lol
The actress playing Susie did a very good job.
@@mat5473 yeah it's a very accurate portrayal lol
Absolutely fantastic. It's tinged with sadness this kind of talent gone from tv
Cheer up, tv is dead anyway
The French car ad sketch is completely bonkers
Yes I agree but it's also just so accurate of french type humour, brilliant.
The Citron "Bedroom Pissing" is a nice little car, as it happens.
@@QFIhawkman what is the air con like?
It's shit, all those sketches should've hit the cutting room floor. Just not funny
@@oscartravis5740 agreed so many poor sketches it's really quite hard to believe
So great watching Harry and Paul, this is like going back in time when comedy and comedians where funny without being gross or using fowl language
ffs!
"foul" not fowl....fowl is a chicken lol
Cluck! I guess that’s how a fowl swears.
Tweet tweet!
Amazing how many people say "fowl" instead of "foul".
Here's an idea - why not develop a reasonable grasp of English before complaining about "foul" language, whatever that is.
That I saw you coming sketch is the most brutal of all I've seen
Love it
She deserves it
Nobody is called "The Edge"
I spent a year in Aberdeen in 1988-89 and during 1989 the weather in Scotland was much better than the weather in England.
What about 1988?
never seen this before- i moved abroad years ago
that Mike Leigh film is deadly accurate, my god they nailed it
Perfect p-take of the pompous Leigh!
Harry and Paul are gold!
Work experience is an all-time classic!
The 50s typing pool moaners (Paul Whitehouse & Kevin Eldon) are genius!
Anyway! Anyway!
5:23 Ant & Dec, they probably is a Quare. Love it.
@Jack Jones "Hasta la vista, Tarquin." Hahahahaha. Can't believe I've just discovered these guys. THANK YOU SO MUCH for introducing me.
“... this lovely cabinet here: I thought of you the moment I saw it wasn’t selling...”
I do love Harry and Paul!
This is one of the best episodes
Utterly brilliant
Harry Enfield is an absolute National Treasure ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
The boxset, the precursor of Netflix
Always loved these two. Please come back.....
Absolutely unrivalled in British comedy history, in my humble opinion.
The massive mugs of tea at the start is so accurate 😂 when I'm at a client's house (tree surgeon) I sometimes get tea like that off people in the classic sports direct mug. Absolutely no attempt to put in more tea or sugar normally, so you just end up with a big mug of warmish, brown, watery milk 🤢. I normally just go round the corner and pour it away 😂
You need to get on top of things mate , I regularly have to instruct customers how to make the tea, correct size mug, preferably warmed but that is an ask, tea bag left in , not too much milk, but don't scrimp either. Same goes for chips, should be maris pipers really, triple fried, I'm not fussy , just particular..
The comment above me is correct. Not everyone is as bright as you are, sadly. I start off by asking if their kettles broke then give direct instructions
@@Gaybraham.Lincoln Exactly, is only common courtesy to offer a cuppa, rude not to. Harry Enfield is genius and his mate Paul
Lmao Tree Surgeon =Unemployed 🤣
@@ianmangham4570 why is that so funny, most tree surgeons are busy busy, what do you do thats so amazing.
Ten years later....how a superbly accurate estimation of that "duo" Ant & Dec has remained so accurate. They haven't changed a bit.
Yep still a pair of Quares 😂😂
I absolutely love this sketch: 18:52 to 19:31. So well captures the funny side of times gone by. I wish they'd have developed this more.
They do that one a lot actually. Most episodes I would say..
Why, it was utter rubbish
While you read this comment why don't I fix you a nice little cheese & pickle sandwich
For your din dins.

@@markbrookes5835 yeah, a nice little cheese and pickle sandwich, for your din dins

I am partial to a nice little cheese & pickle sandwich. For my din dins.
Victoria Wood and Harry Enfield together. Bliss.
this is my first time hearing about or watching this show. I'm intrigued
The horse racing trainer sketch is outrageously good
I love the Scottish, I've met literally hundreds of them and they all say how much better it is in Scotland... I've never been ✌
Hugh Jainuss Scotland's alright but not as god as Manchester
The tarmacadam that you drove on, with the rubber tyres & the combustion engine while listening to Ken Bruce on the radio which were all invented in Scotland.
I love that the pretentious box set couple have the smiths playing it's great attention to detail haha
Since dvds are going the way of the dodo, future viewers are going to find this baffling.
Never got this back in the day but I like it now. Good analysis of people as well as good old piss takes.
Wow..that Larry David parody...so good, I thought it was really him initially!
This is amazing, how did i miss it?! Also as a Scot i can confirm that everything’s better in Scotland. I wish there was a Paul Whitehouse & Friends show. Harry is great but Paul is something else. Every time.
i suppose there is the fast show if you want some older paul whitehouse sketches. Has some huge names in it too.
Epic tabsmanship from Harry at the start 👍
"Talking of syphilis - did you see Phylis and Peter the other day"?
Such a quick throw away line - but brilliant. You can imagine exactly how that couple got that nickname. There's a whole unspoken backstory.
Thank you.
I've had my miscarriage im off to school!
Only in Britain!!!
Chortle... also, her reply to her mother’s offer of cheese and pickle sandwich: “No thanks, mum, I’m bulimic”, though that should probably have been “I’m anorexic”
Only in shitty Mike Leigh films (of which this sketch is a pastiche) you mean.
entire parliament is a miscarriage
@Edd 1 Good!
@Edd 1 lol true
Genius through and through.paul playing a old greek lady is spot on.
Aaaaw, bless your little cotton socks.
These two chaps have inspired my comedy ideas for a few decades. Fab stuff H and P.
“Nobody’s called The Edge “ 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Is there anything these guys can't do? They just keep getting better and better and better and....you know the rest 😊
Nice to see Kevin Eldon getting this decades quota of his TV sketch-work
Massively underrated
I love the bonus Parking Pataweyo at 18:04 I wonder what that actor is up to now... ;)
Not much. Probably became a real parking attendant.
That will be the British weather moving North haha so funny!
12:02 Larry David spoof kills! 'I'll never knowingly leave my semen in our friends guacamole''
*zooms on Larry* 😂😂
Except Americans know how to pronounce "guacamole"

Quare
"... after pudding?".... brilliant timing and enquirying voice from that actor!
Class ..a masterclass
As a dad to an 18 year old son... work experience boy made me laugh
'Box Sets' before Netflix season binge was a thing. I miss this kind of comedy
Love the baby-talking Essex folk!
An especially good episode.
The Curb pastiche is beautifully done! Whitehouse makes a pretty good Larry. Prettay... Prettay... Prettay... Pretty good.
God I loved this show.
I am a Scot and that smirks amazing,Edinburgh Morningside. Lol
Lovely to see Victoria Wood, RIP
Listening to the music in the background of some of these sketchs makes me think that either Harry or Paul is a fan of indie rock
The Rachmanioff PW was in a band called The Higsons in the early 80's. I use to hear them on John Peel's show.
Charlie Higson was in the Higsons, not PW.Hope you don`t mind me pointing that out.
digitalvelvet oh yes silly me & no I don't mind at all
The Ken Loach start had me crying laughing 😂 ...& I'm poor!!
@zar athustra Ken Bruce?
More Mike Leigh.
@@scottandrewbrass1931 Im feelin that.
Oh my God the box set scene...I've met so many couples who thrive on that outside of work it's scary. The beast system in operation. Funny, but so sad and worrying.
Turning people into consumerist, one-upmanship, middle class, slave sheeple.......No your right. Nothing to worry about. What do you think they were taking the piss out of?
Me too mate..... I meet them day in and day out. Its as if they have nothing else going on in thier life, and they bore the fucking tits off me
The Mike Leigh film is perfect!
Genius comedians 😊
I wish Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse were in actual acting roles in comedies/dramas. Very good actors so underused... 8:55 Michael from Alan Partridge!
Why aren't these as good as the 90's show these did....not even close.
too good these two
"No thanks, I'm bulimic" 😂😂😂😂😂
"Citroen bedroom pissing" 😆😆😆😆😆
