Long yet wonderful video! This game is just insane fun, even more so when you realize how certain stuff works with new horizons. I once managed to get the cannon and building off that workshop Speightstown, using the thief's knife. That's been fixed these days though, and it may have actually been done because of me. It's so hilarious to have that cannon on you, and it deals a bloody lot of damage! Not to mention it doesn't even take ammunition, rather it just fired. Maybe that is not doable these days, or at least without sourcing an old version of the build mod, (I don't even remember how old you need to go though) but what doesn't require finding an old version, is abusing the raids that sometimes spawn when talking to structure-people, just like the workshop on Speightstown. Talk to Gregor Samsa, so that he shows his wares, just in case he gets killed in one of the raids, and then talk to the workshop until a raid spawns. Kill the enemies, get the loot from them, and go to another area of the island. Go back and you'll be able to spawn another raid, and the circle continues.....
Yes, I did fix it because of you. 't Was never *meant* to be lootable. CouchaptainCharles tried to prevent it right at the start. But it didn't work no more... Of course with console you can bypass whatever fix.

Have you tried the NH-added DiretSail function? It allows you to sail from island to island entirely within what you call 3D mode, completely forgoing the 2D mode (worldmap). It works best if you also enable Open Sea Mode in InternalSettings (by default it is only enabled in Ironman Mode, but using directsail without it is a worse experience imo; enabling it also stops the game from advancing a day every in-game hour on the clock, so coastal navigation takes less in-game time). Disable worldmap acces there in the neighbouring line too to prevent temptation, play in Realistic mode (ironamn too much for me), and suddenly you have to approach many more elements in fresh ways: -Until you get bith a chronometer (advanced clock) and a sextant, you won’t know your ship’s position while at sea. So it’s best to plan routes with more intermedieate stops just in case you get lost while at sea. -Encounters with other ships will happen without you able to exit/enter worldmap, but they will always spawn on the horizon, so the encounter will either happen or be avoided much more organically, with windspeed mattering a whole lot, and you able to change your flag before they can see it if you want. Set the in-game setting for directsail info to “strange sail on the horizon” only and you’ll have to rely on your telescope and your own eyesight to recognise the ships’ nationality sooner rather than too late. -You never get dropped in the middle of a hostile fort, but also you now have to get in range, and their range is longer than yours. - Long journeys where the wind is going directly against you will require you to either wait ‘til it turns or, do it in perpendicular components.

If you keep doing this then you don't need to do any delivery missions to earn gold and you can buy the best ship in the game right away. :'D
try playing it with ironman mode on. You sail directly on the ocean so no map mode like normal and you ned to use the compass and sextan to know your place on the map else its using just the compass to plan your direction oh and you can speed up so no need to just sail slowly unless you like that

did you mod your voice to sound like an Indian? I think you're German, or maybe an Indian in Germany lol anyway, funny video. did you play Sid Meier's Pirates remake? it's pretty good fun and also a bit mod-able.
Regarding the exploit of using the hotkey to equip another gun fully-loaded mid-combat: you only really need two guns for that; equipping a new gun will have it fully-loaded. There is a variable in internalsettings meant to change that, so that guns are unloaded when equipped, but unfortunately right now it has the unintended side effect of also unloading your gun whenever you change zones, so yikes, that's useless for boarding. Something else regarding officers you didn't mention: unlike in the base game, in NH you can choose their role, and depending on that they can contribute some of their skills or perks! Their contributing perks act as if you (or the captain of the ship they are assigned to) have them, and their contributing skills' values supercede your own if they are higher than yours (green skills, full contributions) or more than double (gold skills, half contributions). This was entirely absent in the base game IIRC; outside of melee combat perks, the only NPC perks that had any effect where the sailing/shooting ones had by ship captains.

It can be pretty hard but highly customizable if you dive into the settings notepad file. For vanilla it can be unforgiving since your first ship you try to fight can be the whole Spanish Armada due to RNG lol. Also what MP?
@@ImperialThirdWorldReich the game has a community that opened a multiplayer server for it, and it looks to be thriving. I thought you knew about it nvm. Anyways, you said its harsh, as in hand-to-hand battles or the battles in the sea?

ah yes, the base game is so bugged that you can easily get man of war after prologue despite the fact you shouldn't be able to get it before final mission 25:30 no, there are much much MUUUUUUUUUUUCH easier ways to make money exactly 2 first way: go to tawern and search for a guy who wants to join your party, ask him how much money he want to be paid for him to join you, ask him if he can lower the price, then decline, and repeat whole conversation until the guy you want to hire will agree to pay you as much as you want for working with you in your party second way: in every town is a bank, you can't fast travel to it but don't worry, you can find it and in a bank you can ask for some money, take as much as you can, then in this bank is a chest where you can put stuff, so put all your money, then talk to the banker and ask him for money again, don't worry, he'll agree as long as long you don't have any money in your pockets. Repeat. After you are satisfied with all the money you got, make sure he don't want his money back, take all the money you have legally earned this way from the chest and there you go, you are rich now. This don't work in redmond cuz you can't access the chest in bank in redmond. didn't know this still works in the mod XD
Oh I know about these two money making methods lol. Sadly the first one doesn't work in the mod, but yes the second one does. I held off the bank trick till the end of the vanilla campaign because I thought the game would send annoying guys after me since one of the loading screen tips suggests so. Turns out the game just doesn't do anything about it, or if it did I didn't notice.
Oh, and you (and your quartermaster(s)) actually DO gain experience from trading. Don't know why you didn't or thought you didn't; maybe it's specifically tied to enabling auto-slotted skill progress?
Actually, that may be the case. I personally don't like that kind of skill progression and am more of a fan of placing skill points where I want it to be. And that's coming from a Morrowind fan lol.
still, after so many years the game is still buggy as hell, lots of crashes...double save often, cause bad saves happen...and one can get stuck in gameplay(like with virgil boone, and escaping to fight him on sea)and dont fight with or against a 2 large of a fleet, cause it moight crash half way,and u loose all that time(saving isnt possible in sea combat....best rpg ever with the worst designed engine..in cozumel temple there is a secret room with pictures of the developers..
is it just me or ship battles in the mod arew ABSOLUTELY unplayable? The ships sail at speed 1 cm per hour aka 1/10 of a bigmac per hour as you say.... i have to 20x to actually see the ships drag their ass across the open sea. It literally sucks the immersion out of the game. Is it just some stupid setting in my game or mod is made by a masochist/autist?
Yeah, ship combat can be as slow as molasses so I often play it with the game sped up and then just slow it down when I'm about to shoot. The game is very slow, especially when you start off with small ships. Also, all simulation games are made by masochists/autists. That's why we love em.

@@ImperialThirdWorldReich yeah it's a regular multiplayer, theres even a site about it
Well, we have 2 people (including me) and a one bot in the comments already :P
Don't worry, the state controlled comment section has already pacified the bot. -Anzei
@@ImperialThirdWorldReich Most excellent.
ah yes, the base game is so bugged that you can easily get man of war after prologue despite the fact you shouldn't be able to get it before final mission
25:30 no, there are much
much
MUUUUUUUUUUUCH
easier ways to make money
exactly 2
first way: go to tawern and search for a guy who wants to join your party, ask him how much money he want to be paid for him to join you, ask him if he can lower the price, then decline, and repeat whole conversation until the guy you want to hire will agree to pay you as much as you want for working with you in your party
second way: in every town is a bank, you can't fast travel to it but don't worry, you can find it and in a bank you can ask for some money, take as much as you can, then in this bank is a chest where you can put stuff, so put all your money, then talk to the banker and ask him for money again, don't worry, he'll agree as long as long you don't have any money in your pockets.

May I know what game it is please

still, after so many years the game is still buggy as hell, lots of crashes...double save often, cause bad saves happen...and one can get stuck in gameplay(like with virgil boone, and escaping to fight him on sea)and dont fight with or against a 2 large of a fleet, cause it moight crash half way,and u loose all that time(saving isnt possible in sea combat....best rpg ever with the worst designed engine..in cozumel temple there is a secret room with pictures of the developers..
Yeah, corrupt save files were pretty common when I played it. I got so paranoid that every time I saved the game I would make two save files.
Why is the comment section a desert over here ?
Well done men. Great video. Have you ever try the gentleman of fortune mod. I have it and it’s sea dogs but with improvements
Oh nice, I looked into it and it looks pretty interesting. Maybe I'll give it a go!
@@ImperialThirdWorldReich of course men it’s a every interesting mod
i ruined the 300 likes
nice video .
is it just me or ship battles in the mod arew ABSOLUTELY unplayable?
The ships sail at speed 1 cm per hour aka 1/10 of a bigmac per hour as you say....
i have to 20x to actually see the ships drag their ass across the open sea. It literally sucks the immersion out of the game. Is it just some stupid setting in my game or mod is made by a masochist/autist?
Yeah, ship combat can be as slow as molasses so I often play it with the game sped up and then just slow it down when I'm about to shoot.
The game is very slow, especially when you start off with small ships.
Also, all simulation games are made by masochists/autists. That's why we love em.
