My friend has a 96 4 door short bed F250 but its a 460 automatic truck only has 50k miles he never drives it sets most of the time. Great video thanks for saving that truck a diesel 5 speed 4x4 4 door obs F250 is rare u just never see them anymore especially with a manual transmission!!!

The first ever Ford powerstroke designed by navistar (came company that made the 6.0 and 6.4 powerstrokes). the 7.3 was put into trucks and commercial vehicles like school buses. The only difference is the commercial aka medium duty vehicles like a school bus used Allison transmissons
We had a Liberty Blue 97 Crew cab, Short bed,5-speed, 7.3 F350 4x4. I loved driving that truck in high school. Dad traded it in 2003 for a new CCSB 4x4 7.3 F250 auto and regretted it after about a week.

Is it the 7.3 power stroke, i love the sound the power stroke generates, there's been many of them still running good with 500, 000 miles, treat them right and they will come running when called.😅😅😅

I saw one more rare than that in Connecticut. It had the 8 foot bed extended cab, all leather powered seats that were gray, not color match interior and it had heated seats in the front with an automatic.
Dude, this exact setup but a 96, blue, white or this color and with the 4 speed auto 4r100 is my dream setup! They only made the F50 short bed crew cab in the two years of 96-97

my theory on working on old vehicles is, take it apart and put it back together. more times all these old parts need is to be cleaned and moved around.
Being around and owning 7.3s current obs is a 96 f250 around 400hp at the wheel I can tell you that truck has either a dead hole or a very worn out set of injectors that is a bad miss when starting might need a set of injectors or maybe and engine check blowby when warm take off engine oil fill cap and flip upside down and sit on top if it'll ride it'll slide might also check the HPOP pressure as well and fuel pressure that could cause a miss as well

I usually wait until the end of the video to comment but THIS TRUCK IS COOL! (I'll edit/add this this comment as I go or reply to it a bunch of times) If the starter is anything like my 95 F150, it's really easy. I changed mine in the hotel parking lot the morning of my wedding (it's a lot more "fun" on my 2015) I agree with Landon, I like the stock chrome on these trucks. I like the side trim, I'd replace it with new (or better used). Could be a cool look to have the trim if you did something like a Raptor line on the whole thing.

insurance guy said look under the seat? if the foam sees water it will wick up to the top and rust the frame everywhere . and look at the starter connection? the salt water will rot the connection and the braided wire overnight.

I've got a 96 regular bed 4dr f-250 4x4 460 auto but mine being from north Dakota it had a solid super duty solid axel swap with an 8 inch lift with 37s. From what I determined when I bought it I was able to determine.it was most likely a mud truck. But the body I'd about, 85 to 90% solid minimal rust. One of my favorite parts of it it's turquoise. I haven't seen many with that color and with over200,000 miles on it still runs like a top. Looking to put a diesel in it at some point.

New subscriber! I have the same truck too. I actually wanted a long bed but I took the deal because the previous owner said short bed is rare. I still want a long bed.
Y'all should have just put it in reverse fold the cable tied on the other truck and then use the starter of that truck to break it loose cuz I've seen it several times and that's the best way of doing it you just tied to something where it can't move put it in reverse mash the clutch and then start turning and engage the starter it'll usually rip it right loose and it'll start working

Living in Texas I've bought a few flooded vehicles, its a crap shoot. Some are easy fixes some take more work and some end up being parted out. There are thousands of 7.3l 5 speeds running around as to the short bed I don't know..The fender liners are pretty easy to remove, if you own a Ford PS you'll do that quite often.

That truck looks like it has an intercooler which is not factory for a 92-97 powerstroke. Somebody added that at some point

I would drain and clean out the Differentials and hubs and a Transmission flush wouldn't be a bad idea on the truck.

I've got a 96 regular bed 4dr f-250 4x4 460 auto but mine being from north Dakota it had a solid super duty solid axel swap with an 8 inch lift with 37s. From what I determined when I bought it I was able to determine.it was most likely a mud truck. But the body I'd about, 85 to 90% solid minimal rust. One of my favorite parts of it it's turquoise. I haven't seen many with that color and with over200,000 miles on it still runs like a top. Looking to put a diesel in it at some point.

Y'all should have just put it in reverse fold the cable tied on the other truck and then use the starter of that truck to break it loose cuz I've seen it several times and that's the best way of doing it you just tied to something where it can't move put it in reverse mash the clutch and then start turning and engage the starter it'll usually rip it right loose and it'll start working

Living in Texas I've bought a few flooded vehicles, its a crap shoot. Some are easy fixes some take more work and some end up being parted out. There are thousands of 7.3l 5 speeds running around as to the short bed I don't know..The fender liners are pretty easy to remove, if you own a Ford PS you'll do that quite often.
