    Demeter is so bitter that her daughter chose her own happiness over HER constant helicopter parenting. Persephone is a better mother to her own children compared to her biological mother.

    • @leeammorris1268
      @leeammorris1268 2 месяца назад +15

      Honestly, I 100% agree with you on that. I mean, with Persephone, the way she raises Zagreus and Melinoë is that she could care less what they choose to do with their lives so long as they have the choice and they're happy.
      Like, if Zagreus decides he wants to explore the Underworld and truly see the kingdom he will one day rule over, or Meli decides she wants to take a vow of chastity and become a warrior like her Aunts Artemis and Athena, Persephone will stand by and support them, not stopping or preventing them in any way. It's all a mother could and *should* ask for of her child/children.
      Demeter on the other hand, raised Persephone to believe that she must always stay by her mother's side. Never straying away, never having her own thoughts or dreams and never believing she can survive in the world without her mother to guide her. She doesn't even care if she rips her daughter's heart out of her chest as long as she falls into her mother's arms when she does.
      I just hope that in Season 3 *(which we hopefully won't have to wait another 3 1/2 years for😩🙏📿😫🙏📿)*, after everything that's happened and everything that she's done, Persephone finally decides she's had enough with Demeter and her bullsh*t.

      Persephone was kidnappad. Read the mythology.

    • @meganmcdonald3333
      @meganmcdonald3333 2 месяца назад +12

      @Rikard_A Then you need to read deeper in the Mythos before you label Hades the Devil like EVERYONE ELSE. In the mythos, it was Zeus who supported this “kidnapping” and once Demeter was killing off mortals due to her tantrum he asks Hermes to retrieve Persephone who was safe and fine in the Underworld. A once Hermes explained what was going on in the Mortal Realm, Hades lets Persephone return and like a die hard romantic he vows to be the best husband he can for her. Which is something his brothers, mainly Zeus, FAIL at! So how about I draw list of the many assaults on women and goddesses made by Zeus and Poseidon before you tell ME to read the mythology of Hades and Persephone.

      @@meganmcdonald3333 I like your spunk. You tell 'em!!!😌😌🤩🤩
      I totally agree with you. Hades was the only *remotely decent man* between the three brothers.
      Unlike Zeus and Poseidon who *CONSTANTLY* cheated on their wives (though one much more than the other), Hades remained faithful to Persephone and actually shared his power and rule with her.
      After she married him, it wasn't Hades alone ruling the Underworld with Persephone simply as his pretty consort. They ruled together as a duo. Something that his little brothers would've found too damaging to their already *minuscule* egos.

      Demeter is so blind by her own judgement that she doesn’t let her own daughter make her own decisions. She is so protective and so controlling that she doesn’t even listen to Persephone.

  • @TheOddityFair

    Nothing symbolizes Demeter’s selfishness more than how she destroyed Persephone’s gift to Hades. Just looking at it, & knowing Persephone’s powers, there’s no way Demeter didn’t know who made it. But she still destroyed it to both make a point, & so she wouldn’t have to look at it. Her daughter’s happiness has never mattered to her as much as her own ego.

    Also Demeter knows how much Persephone loves her husband and she still doesn't care! Look, I don't hate Demeter she is quite interesting and I hope there's more of her in season 3. But the contempt she has for Hades and Persephone's relationship is insane. Let your daughter be happy and be with her family! Demeter could also enjoy her grandchildren but that's another thing she doesn't care about💀

    But i like the changes this series made. Story and characters are very interesting. It's very impressive this show made Demeter, a side character who was rarely on screen in season 1 to the most despiteful villain in season 2.

      Demeter is the basically the goddess that could destroy Earth on a whim if she wanted to because she controls the ecosystem. All 6 children of Cronos and Rhea are the most powerful of the gods, and they can stand on equal ground to each other. Hades is no more powerful than Demeter and if they fought, it would be standstill and it would cause devastation to both Earth and the Underworld.
