- I've been sent the new EcoFlow River 2 Max powerbank to review. This is the top of the River 2 range of powerbanks. Is it just the right size, a balance between capacity, portability and affordability?

Thanks for watching!
That was a extensive, professional and well presented review! RUclips at its finest 👍🏻
Well thank very much indeed!
Great review, Ive just bought a couple of these and look forward to using them. Love the bloopers at the end, thanks xx
Glad you like them!
Thanks Bob not quite big enough for our needs but we have the Delta 2 on order from the show 😉
Stay Safe 😜👍
I like all your reviews and recommendations. In fact I saw a bit of you and your video on the Colapz advert I saw on Facebook today.
Good to hear.
We have considered getting one of these but I think the weight would put us over our threshold 😀
You must be quite tight on payload then. This weighs 7.5 kilos or around the weight of our Westie, Poppy.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo have you seen our little caravan? A stray packet of crisps could take us over 😂
😊👍
Hi Bob. Good informative video.
How did it get on charging your electric bikes. We have 2 Whisper bikes with 575Ah batteries would it charge these ?.
As always, a very thorough and informative review - my new van will hopefully be ready late March, it’ll be fitted with lithium battery, but I’m looking at purchasing an ecoflow River to power a hairdryer (for the dog - not to mini schnauzer) and just for charging iPhone, iPad etc (I don’t have camera gear etc). In your opinion, do you think the pro is the best one for me, to power hairdryer and perhaps electric kettle for when off grid please? Many thanks Bob!
No. Electric kettles are generally around 2500w and are too power hungry for the River 2 Pro, which is 768w, and too much probably for many campsite electrics! Hairdryers too, are around 700-1200w, they will work but takes ages to dry your hair.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo OK thanks Bob - my kettle is a camping electric one, but my main concern was the hairdryer for my dog….
Many thanks
You are welcome
Hi Bob. Another great video. There are a lot of reviews of the eco flow systems by yourself and other RUclipsrs and it is obviously superb equipment. However, I am struggling to see any benefit in purchasing one as we always use sites with electric hook ups. Am I missing something?
I found them very useful, when: a) I need to charge a lot of USB devices, B) when my leisure batteries went flat on a rally and at a show. C) at home and in the awning to power my laptop. It may also be very useful when campsites start metering their electricity. So, if you don't go off grid much, it may go in the category of 'I never knew how useful this was until I got one'.
Would have been great to see you solar charging the device whilst using appliances to see how much longer you get from the river
Thanks, yes I should have shown the solar charging.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo the only reason I ask is considering purchasing as a back up prepping station for extended power outages. Would be great to see how long you could run essentials ie small fridge, a light, and phones charging whilst continuously hooked up to solar power! I know it’s sun dependant, but the depletion of battery overnight may get topped off during the day leading to an unlimited 24/7 power source?! 💁🏻♂️
OK a thought for the next one.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo that would be great as there are very few informative videos on that exact topic! So many good reviews but nothing really regarding extended continual use when solar is the only option! Many thanks for the replies and you have got a new subscriber 👍👍
We’re going to buy one when we get our new van but we’ll need a bigger one, that one is not really good enough for powering your van like you said but looks well made. 👍
No, that's the dilemma, you really need something like the Delta Max for powering the van.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo I have a cunning plan to bypass the onboard charger and just charge the leisure battery from the power bank….
Sorry bob. off topic did i spot a web cam on the wall? Cheers
Not a web cam, a CCTV camera, have a look at this video ruclips.net/video/klnDIdmxo3c/видео.html
@@BobEarnshawMoHo Thanks for quick response bob.
Different mic set up Bob? You were very sibilant!
I managed to leave a second microphone on by mistake.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo nice one! Good job you weren’t slowly sizzling sausages!!
Sorry Bob but it’s not rule set by RUclips with regards to paid promotion but rules set by the Government via the Advertising Standards Authority. But thanks for stating that it’s a paid promotion as still so many RUclips creators ignore this.
Yes, you are correct, but RUclips require me say it is a paid promotion.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo That's not correct - all RUclips and the CMA require is that the 'includes paid promotion' box is ticked when you upload the video so the label is shown at the start of the video. Failure to do this could have implications for yourself and also the brand which you are promoting. This is the case with all posts across social media so would also affect anything you put on Twitter/Facebook concerning the 'sponsored' video. Under the CAP Code ads ‘must be obviously identifiable as such’. This means that consumers should be able to recognise that something is an ad, without having to click or otherwise interact with it. As you state that 'you've received the goods free etc' this is probably the best method as well as ticking the RUclips box. Sadly many other creators do not know about these rules (or ignore them) so people need to report the videos to the ASA which is very easy to do by sending them a link and they investigate every complaint sent to them. If the brand you are promoting send you a list of 'key points' to include in your video' this would be deemed as 'control' then this would make the video an advertisement which has more implications.
These are a waste of time just get a generator which are cheaper and dont need charging up
But you do have to put petrol in them. Plus not ideal inside the motorhome, awning or house. Did you know EcoFlow do a Smart Generator?
@@BobEarnshawMoHo yes but it needs charging were the generator does not plus if you park on a site with no hook up you can use the generator and they dont use hardly any petrol and are cheaper the ecoflow takes to long to charge to me they are a complete waste of money i know you will not say this as you mite have been given one to use great videos bob
Thank you, for your opinion> However, my opinion is I prefer quieter, non polluting powerbanks that can also be charged for free using solar power. Or just an hour on mains electricity. By the way, the Smart Generator is a petrol powered generator that can charge up a powerbank or any other electrical equipment. Also, I don't just say things because I've been given them for free. If I thought they were a complete waste of time I would say!!
@@BobEarnshawMoHo thanks bob look forward to your videos when you are out and about this year in the motorhome
We used to have a generator on our horse lorry. Yes they are great. But expensive for the quiet ones. Ours was electonic , push buttpn start from control psnel. For the MH , i am debating either the ECO Max 2000w or equiv Bluetti. Have set a budget for either. They are cheaper and cleaner than a geni. My major use is CPAP and Oxygen machine.
Hi Bob I like your flogs in the past about the reviews of campsites, but you are getting boring by keep reviewing products that everybody and their uncle on RUclips do the same, the product might be good but as they are free to you will you say they are rubbish. Apart from this gripe keep visiting and reviewing campsites.
Thanks for the feedback. We are reviewing this powerbank because there are very interesting products coming out soon from Ecoflow. And if was rubbish, I probably wouldn't review it anyway. It is actually very good.
I turn down many product review request every week, often for powerbanks. For the sake of new viewers, I recently reviewed 27 vehicles at the NEC, many which were requested by viewers. I film all our trips and tours, so it's not just campsites.
Your reviews are by far in the category of being the most truthful Bob. Keep up the great work.
Thank you, I do try!
Goodness what a rude comment! You don't have to watch every video Keith.
I thought this review was very objective, certainly highlighted the limitations of the unit which is relevant to the price compared to the Delta.
Thank you, I do try.
