    Nice comparison. A little note, though: the wider MPPT range of the max and pro allows for use of much cheaper per watt residential 400W panels. This is overpanelling, so won't provide them more than 220W, just 220W way more often than a 220W RV panel.

      @@TechMadeEzy Update : EcoFlow confirmed its initial release of River 2 was with a lower rated lithium battery. They changed the battery but decided not to change the name of the product, so both are River 2. The company no longer sells the lower rated one (243 wh) on their direct site, but some are available through their distribution chamnel. The warranty is still 5 years. So its a good savings opportunity for anyonw willing to give up 13wh

    Thanks for the video. I'd like to know more about exactly what occurred with your coffee maker. I watched the River 2 Pro video. I'm concerned because I'm getting a power station primarily for use with a pellet smoker which has a processor controlled auger and fan system. It certainly doesn't have the initial surge of a coffee maker, but I don't want to risk damaging the cooker.

    I've been buying these new ecoflow models since these were released. I also have the original pro with the extended battery. I was debating buying the pecron e600 lfp or the new river pro. I chose the pecron and I am really impressed with it. I find each of my ecoflows are picky with cables for the USB C PD port. For the pecron every one of my USB C cables work using the PD port on the pecron.
    Also on the pecron if you leave the AC or DC on with no load it hardly drains just like multiple tests show. On the ecoflows they drain much more.
    These are just a few things I found

    The most important spec IMO is watt-hours. How long can you run a device. Now when I calculate dollars/watt-hours I find the River 2 gives you 0.93 Wh/$. The River 2 Max provides 0.91Wh/$ and the R2Pro only 0.78 Wh/$. Notwithstanding the fact that features may be different (better or not) I don't think I get the bang for my buck spending more.

    what would the river 2 pro do if you had say a 250W solar panel??.. usually you are not getting the max form a panel.. but middle of a clear day you might get the full 250W power.. what would the unit do? die, cut out and reset? hopefully would be handy..

    • @TechMadeEzy
      @TechMadeEzy  8 месяцев назад

      Thanks for your compliment, the potential wattage the panel can produce isn't important, just make sure you are staying below the voltage ( voc ) the panel can produce. If the panels voc is higher than the power station can handle you can burn out the mppt controller ( solar controller ) in the unit. Just know your specs but higher wattage is no issue.

    Can you set them 3 River 2 Series to stop charging at a certain battery level automatically like always at 85% and to automatically turn off when it is at 20% battery level? I want it to always charge up to 85% always without manually turning off the charging when it is at 85% and turn off the whole thing when it reaches 20 percent battery. My Samsung phone has a feature that you can make the phone stop charging when it reaches 85% to help save or extend battery service life. Able to automatically do that would make my work or life easier.

    • @TechMadeEzy
      @TechMadeEzy  7 месяцев назад

      You can set charge and discharge levels
      Example when you are charging you can set a max of 85% then it won’t charge the River anymore or you can set discharge levels, example 20% then it won’t discharge anymore .

      These don't have integrated shutoff at custom state of charge. You may achieve that with home assistant though. As far as I know, it shouldn't be a problem to let them go to 0% as long as you don't let them sit for long after that without recharging. Taking them to 0% is part of the 3000 cycles specification.
