    Connect solar panels to the River 2 pro and keep it charging while you use it to cook your lunch, breakfast and make some coffee or tea. Charge your batteries in your laptop, camera, phone tablet, lights, mozzie zapper.......

    Great review Dave. I don’t mind these units, I’ve considered one to run our pool from but it’s better value to add more household solar. Also considered one for QLD storm related power outages.

      Hey Mark, that would probably be correct if you have the room for extra panels. I think the main purpose of these batteries is for when you are off grid..camping or blackout?

      Thanks for your insight! It's important to consider the power factor when choosing the right motor for a pump.

    My only real concern with the Delta was the price made it a super luxury item for the average hobbyist. Lots of more critical tools to spend $2k on. So a cheaper option with still significant power is a good thing

      Definitely an item for someone with a need or disposable income.

    Started out with a River 2 and quickly realized...not enough capacity to last a day or two of Winter carCamping/ tentCamping: running two 50w (AC) heating pads, maybe a 200w (AC) micro heater and recharge iPad and phone.
    Would it make better sense to get two River 2 Pros (1536Wh) or one EF Delta 2 (1024Wh)?

      It sounds like you need more capacity for your camping needs. I prefer the river2pro. So getting 2 of them would allow you to use while camping and also use 2 of them at home in different locations to power things at home. Use a smart powerpoint to charge them when electricity is cheap in the middle of the night. One question...do you use solar panels when you are camping to keep the power up to your existing unit?

      @@DavidStanton no panels, and hoping whatever I go with can hold me for 2-3 days of well thought out use. Leaning towards River 2 pros with high hopes.

    Can it work as an uninterruptable power supply? I use an old one on my NBN modem, but the SLA batteries don't last for long.

    • @DavidStanton
      @DavidStanton  Год назад

      I think it could but I am not sure if I would want it plugged in continuously to a power supply on the off chance of a blackout occurring. It would definitely run a nbn and modem for a few days at least.

      What you could do is charge the river 2 pro up to 100% and then plug the modem and nbn box into it and see the remaining charge after 24 hours. Then fully charge via an automatic timer once a day for a set period of time to achieve a full charge.

    Looks awesome for camping 👍🏻. I wonder how long to charge on solar?
    Cheers Dave

      Not too long. Simple sum of 768 watts of storage divided by 200 watts solar panel input. From empty to 100% = 3.8 hours.
