    Excellent short tutorial. I just ordered my Kaval. We will see if I will be able to make a sound. Used to play the clarinet, but that’s a different cup of thea of course!

    Merci, this was the clearest introduction I've seen :) I am very used to playing woodwinds with fipples/mouthpieces so this is a fun challenge for me

    When i practice of producing a sound from the kaval with out using the holws do I need to try to achieve the ability of producing higher and lower sounds?

    • @vasilevzhivko
      @vasilevzhivko  Месяц назад

      Practicing the sound is very important. My recommendation is to really learn how to make a clear sound only with the head joint before starting with fingers. There are many tricks of how to achieve that, it's hard to fit everything in a RUclips video. Feel free to check my online lessons and maybe we can go in depth. Good luck!

    Great video, I would like to ask something.
    How similar is the playing of a kaval to the playing of a ney. Will a ney player have an easier time learning this instrument?

    • @vasilevzhivko
      @vasilevzhivko  Год назад +2

      Depends on the kind of Ney. But generally you’ll have a much easier time coming from a ney than any other instrument.

    Здравейте ммм защо кавала трябва да е от дясно на тялото ми

    • @vasilevzhivko
      @vasilevzhivko  8 месяцев назад

      Не трябва, това е по-разпространения начин на свирене, но не е задължителен.

      Lol not even close -- tons of countries play this instrument, _especially_ Bulgaria. It's seen in Macedonia and Serbia as well, and parts of Croatia, and that's just the slavic nations.
