    Great video Keav. I have had an EGO 650 for probably a couple years now and it does everything I need it to do. All that you said about noise and fatigue from the weight is spot on. And I also only use the turbo mode for wheels, grilles and very tight places to get all the water out.

    I’ve got the ego blower and it doesn’t sound nearly as harsh as in the video. I think there’s something about the acoustics or the mic. Regarding the battery weight I’ve got the ego mower, blower, trimmer and hedge cutter and use one 10ah battery and one 2.5ah battery. I can finish almost any job with the blower with the 2.5ah battery, certainly drying my car. As you mentioned both batteries can be used in all the tools which makes them very versatile. For the weight I think the 2.5ah battery is the way to go for the handheld tools. I may pick up another one.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  2 месяца назад +1

      Yeah the 2.5 I bet is much less weight and size. The sound to me is the way it is in the video, but remember this is an enclosed garage with an echo so a higher pitched sound will sound even higher. I myself just don't like the sound so used to the much quieter Ryobi and my family never complains about it. They have complained about the 765 when I have used it late at night. This would not be as big an issue when deciding to buy one for me if I was using it outside. LOL

    I've got an EGO 650, which came with a 5 amp hour battery. Then I also got a string trimmer and hedge trimmer which I purchased while there was a special... buy the tool and get a free 2.5 amp hour battery. Anyway, I use the EGO 650 with a 2.5 amp hour battery which cuts the weight significantly and still has enough power to dry a Toyota Highlander.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  2 месяца назад

      Right now there is a deal to buy the 765 and you get a 5ah battery and they throw in a free 2.5ah. I think they are starting to market like Ryobi does with the battery deals.

      I also use the smaller 2.5 on my 650 and can do multiple cars being that I don't "completely" dry the car with it. Just get enough of the water off the car and out of the grill, emblems, mirrors, etc. Then usually go over the car with a towel and drying aid.

    I think doing a test on a panel that isn’t ceramic coated would have been better as most people don’t have that on their car. Wonder how effective it would be then?

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  5 дней назад

      I would not leaf blow a none ceramic coated car it is a much slower inefficient process. I ceramic coat so it’s quicker to blow them off. If not coated I would use a drying towel.

      Hearing protection for how loud the blowers are is what they were referring to.

  • @DasJav
    @DasJav 2 месяца назад +1

    Recently purchased both. Ended up keeping the Ego. The Ryobi blower is just too bulky, IMO. I really wanted to keep the Ryobi because it was a lot quieter. I always use hearing protection when using the blower but, minimizing the high pitch noise is preferred. I also already owned Ryobi batteries so I only needed to purchase the blower only, which was a plus. BUT.. when I heard that the Ego 765 bundle was on sale at Lowes and Amazon AND they also included with the lighter 2.5 Ah battery I went that route. I purchased the Ego brand short nozzle and I really like it.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  2 месяца назад +1

      The Ryobi is more bulky for sure. Yeah, that is a great deal with the extra battery. I think EGO is starting to adopt some of the Ryobi sales models with the battery deals. Being in an enclosed garage the sound is a big factor for me. My family never complained late at night when using the Ryobi. The first night using the 765 they let me know they could hear it.

    • @CarsWithKeav

      I always blow my intake out with a compressed air hose when done leaf blowing. The particles in the air could for sure be an issue if outside when there is construction or somebody using a lawnmower nearby. In the garage if it’s in the air particles would be too small to cause an issue. These are the main reasons I buy the billet and built the wash bay.

      It’s got that high pitch, but the garage does echo some so outside would be less of a problem.

    Ego batteries are very good but yeah, very heavy, most of the time I use the smaller 2.5Ah just because it's the lightest.

    I bought the EGO 615 kit (older model) but not using it for car drying. Too much weight compared to my Makita 18v blower that easily can use one hand

      The new Ryobi Hand Held 18v is crazy good it has the performance of mid grade big units.

      I’ve always been concerned with gas and the particles form the exhaust getting into beads on the car. How do you handle that or do you have any issues with two stroke smoke, etc. Of course can’t use gas in the garage unless I want to get high. 🤣

    • @Carlos.Rivera
      @Carlos.Rivera 2 месяца назад +2

      @CarsWithKeav for inside in the garage ofc battery powered blower make sense. But if you are in the out side, you will not have a problem. For contamination, there is not much because the flower's nozzle is long enough to keep a safe distance from the car. For wheels, it's a win in my book since I don't need to bend over with shobby nozzle. In your environment, an air compressor will be more beneficial

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  2 месяца назад +2

      @@Carlos.Rivera I have tried, but my 20 gallon can’t keep up and the compressor running constant is annoying. Plus you are stuck dealing with a hose. Outside only other reason for me is battery tends to have way less vibration, noise and not much maintenance needed unless you have the EGO then it can be louder than a gas one.

      @@Carlos.Rivera Don’t say that word. Hurts my ears. 🤣🤣🤣 it’s a valid wash process I just like foam and pressure washer spraying to
      Much to give it up. Also, the one process I hate more than anything is towel trying with a drying aid.

    Ya…hah. I love to wash and detail our cars but this…this is a whole new level of lazy. Nothing beats a good leather whammy. Period. Yep. It’s more work but it gets rid of the streaks, dry drops etc. i see this as a colossal waste of $$$. My 2 cents worth.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  2 месяца назад

      We all have our ways! No waste of money as it’s my leaf blower for the yard anyways. Not sure about lazy though it still takes time and you’re holding an 8 lb object that whole time so it’s a good workout. I do it as I don’t want to touch the car again this minimizes marring for me.
