At 13:40 the low speed battery test the results are transposed. Shows the Ryobi lasted longer. Good test only thing I would add would be battery replacement cost.
After 5 plus years all my Ego batteries are starting to fail. So something to consider is the price of the batteries when you have to start replacing them.

The pros for the Ryobi is that it comes with two batteries, is less expensive as are it's replacement batteries. They are both very good and I think people would be happy with either unit.
Also what I understand most reviews are testing power or performance at a point of time and the Ryobi does not perform at the advertised for the whole time.of the run time. It dives down quickly where the curve for the ego is flatter before it tails off. Don't know why. Battery design? But the batteries are cheaper on Ryobi and on sale more and the ecosystem seems bigger.
Both great blowers but for me I'd take the Ryobi for one simple reason, it's amazingly quiet. You really have to hear difference in person to appreciate the difference between a "normal" blower and the Ryobi Whisper series.
I was looking for a lightweight blower for my deck. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxgioZQl3J5wPGAeDINzbieKbT5qomSEx3 There are some huge trees around my house and the leaves and pods drop all over my deck. Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.
Having owned both Ryobi mowers and other tools, and Ego mower and tools, I've noticed that my Ryobi battery life wasn't great... The batteries ended up losing run time within a year and a half of consistent use, I found my mower not being able to complete my lawn on one charge halfway into my second year with the product. My Ego mower and tools have had a year of consistent use, and I haven't really noticed any drop off for battery capacity.
Every tester claim using what comes out the box (standard set up),but never use both batteries from Ryobi. Lol😅 one charges while the other is in use is a huge advantage. Kudos for him to mention it
Ego also have a 765 kit with 2 batteries for about $120 more. Comparing batteries the 40v x4Ah Ryobi provides 160Wh of power while the 56v x 5Ah Ego provides 224 Wh of power. That’s why EGO takes longer to charge and lasts much longer on the low speed. For higher speed tests it’s normal the RGO has lea advantage since it’s much more powerful, the leaves were moving much better with the EGO in the video. If the leaves move better then the time to clear will be shorter. For me the EGO is the clear winner in time to clear the yard which is the point of having a blower. You didn’t show how the flat nozzle works on the EGO, it would be nice to see what it has to offer. Also the strap is a nice addition.

I bought a ryobi since it’s my first blower I was on a budget and I got the 40v 525 cfm which moves the air about 110 mph and set me back 179.00 after taxes added it came to 190.00 since my yard isn’t that big i didn’t need anything more powerful since I’m only using it for light work like cleaning garage floor and guy at Home Depot says I can pick up wet leaves grass clippings and clear off front and back steps I don’t get a lot of leaves in the fall my yard so small only takes me a half hour to rake leaves in a pile then bag them with this I won’t have to rake much
There is no doubt the EGO is more powerful, it does have far more Wh than the Ryobi. When I was looking to make a purchase it was at the top of my list but i ultimately chose the Ryobi because I was coming from a convertible gas powerhead and still had all my attachments. EGO made it so you could not use existing attachments on their convertable powerhead and that was a deal breaker for me. Their attachments were overpriced in my opinion. In real world use, I can trim edge and blow all I need to on one battery with the Ryobi and still have 2 bars left so I'm happy. Thank you for your video.
I would probably buy into the Ryobi platform, though the ego is better in power. Ryobi has far more tools to choose or historically Ryobi comes up with tools that EGO will never make.
Those were my two top choices. I went with the EGO 765 CFM because its handling is much better (handling is important since both are heavy). The balance of the EGO is much better than the Ryobi when the battery is installed. That's because the EGO naturally points downward when you hold it whereas the Ryobi wants to point upward. Also, the two rails on the bottom make the EGO much easier to maneuver when you need to position the blower with two hands for trickier applications. That's why auto detailers prefer the EGO form factor. EGO also sells a stubby auto-detailing nozzle - not sure if Ryobi does.
@@TheLawnReview Haha, it's great for offroading and the EGO comes in handy when I need to wash the dirt off and blow dry. Seriously, I'm liking the balance between CFM and run time on the EGO. Works great on a not-smooth driveway with lots of dry pine needles.
When testing the run times you an actually see the difference in how the air disperses from each blower the ryobi seems to have a more concentrated air flow and the e go seems to fan out
5:07 You can go back if after you cut the different options you then put the smaller size inside the bigger one. Kinda like a telescope. Don't cut it at the guid line cuz it is indented cut it either after or before. This is just a theory I don't have one of those blowers so it might not work but it should. In theory
I like the Ryobi 730 CFM blower so much that I bought another one. I use one for starting to blow snow from the house's front door so that I don't leave footprints on the deck, the stairs, and the ramp, on my way to the car in the front and one for starting from the garage to blow snow away from the garage doors and from the pickup truck parked in the back. I even bought 2 more 6 ah batteries. I now have 33 battery-powered tools...some DeWALT and most Ryobi. The Ryobi blower is more powerful than my Stihl gas blower. The new Ryobi blower comes with 2 tips but I just leave both blowers with the 190 mph tip mounted.
@@TheLawnReview I built my 32' x 32' x 10' garage in 2014 and, for some strange reason that I cannot remember, I never insulated the roof and the gables as I did with the wall and the doors. In preparation for insulating the roof, I bought 4 Ryobi battery staplers: a regular crown staple gun, a narrow crown stapler, an 18 gauge brad stapler, and a 16 gauge finish nailer. The guy who did all the work liked the crown and narrow crown stapler. I already had the DeWALT table saw and DeWALT compound miter saw. R13 insulation was nowhere to be found and so we used two layers of R11 insulation with wood furring strips to increase the height for the extra layer of 4" insulation. We topped that with a layer of 1/8" foil foam insulation for its reflective value and topped everything with 1x2" wooden stripes every 2 feet to keep everything in place so that nothing could sag. We ended up with an insulation value of R24 and It keeps everything toasty warm. With all the powdery snow, I love the Ryobi 40-volt, 190 mph, and 730 CFM "leaf" blowers.
Warranty is NOT the same. Ryobi offer replacement warranty while ego offer repair warranty, and their warranty service is disgusting. In Australia all Ryobi products are replacement and if you have too many problems they will give you your money back, ego will just give you a hard time when it comes to refunds.
@@TheLawnReview several issues. 2 faulty batteries, 1 faulty charger, 2 faulty blowers and a dodgy line trimmer. Their products are great when they work but pretty dodgy if you ask me.
@@TheLawnReview Still using Ego but will slowly switch away to somewthing else. Was going to go Stihl but they've turned into garbage as well from everything I've been seeing. Hoping makita bring out some better stuff in the 40v range
With the ryobi design when you did the turbo test, the log was blocking what looks to be 1/3 of the intake whereas the ego intake is further forward and unobstructed by the log at the rear of the unit. Curious if they were actually closer on that test due to the restriction. Good review!
This started from a pretty normal to chaotic review comparison towards the end with the swivel chair lol. Also, the Face Flap challenge should be a metric for all leaf blowers. Great review sir!
As for the cost difference, my old man was cheap, but he always said 'Be careful of what you buy because you'll always end up with what you pay for.' Spend a little more up front, but you end up with something better forever and in the end, nobody remembers saving 30 bucks, but they'll always be reminded of making a solid purchase when they use what they got.
I think Makita makes a really good battery powered one but there are also some really good corded ones from WORX and Ryobi. I wrote about it here: thelawnreview.com/best-leaf-blower-vacuum-combos/
@@TheLawnReview awesome! After mowing the lawn, I want to suck all the grass on the walkway. There are not a lot. So I don’t need the huge mulching bag. I am wondering if there are some smaller sized bags that I can attach to the vacuum for small amount of grass.
I would be biased to answer that question since I have couple of ego products to include that blower, however both of them have it’s strength and weaknesses. I do like the power of ego though.
Ego I love ,I just bought the 16 inch trimmer love the unit they had a sale on the cheaper model came with blower. But the one zi bought ab506.00 Canadian with no blower. I LOVE THEM.
Thank you for the thorough comparison. One feature which I think is important with leaf blowers is the overall weight with the battery attached. How does the weight of these units compare?
@@TheLawnReview Thanks for the reply. I'm leaning toward the EGO. and I see that you show the weight in your video, so sorry for asking for that info. I think I'll go with a lower power EGO (615cfm w/ 2.5 ah battery). This combo will be lighter than either of the models you compared.
Thanks. I was looking at these two blowers. During father's day of 2023 both kits were the same price. Lowe's did a buy $200 Gift card, get $30 so it was more work to get the same price but doable. I got the Ego, but it was a lot of back and forth, really digging the about of competition between the different brands.
Great video. How do the overall handling of each compare? I know it’s close. Is there one of these two that is just easier to handle/hold when using? Does one put less strain on your wrist/arm? The way the Ryobi seems to flare out in the back, makes it seem more cumbersome, compared to the EGO, is it? Unfortunately the big box stores may have display models, but you get actually rest them. Thanks!
Hey Greg! I appreciate the comment! I would say the difference is pretty small but you’re exactly right. The Ryobi’s weight causes it to naturally sit a little pitched backwards. Honestly, I can’t really find a flaw in the EGO blower
In Canada right now, regular price, the Ego is actually $9 cheaper than the Ryobi. Thanks for this review, exactly they type of review I needed to make a decision and based on this, I would have paid more for the Ego as mentionned but it's actually cheaper, bonus!
You keep coming up with test like the faceflap and chair idea, and the next thing you know they'll be calling you "the science guy". lmbo that was pretty good, great presentation. Thinking I'm going to pick up the Ryobi tomorrow based upon this review.
Just bought a 765 and it gets the job done quick. It's big and kind of heavy but no issues when using a shoulder strap. Can't wait to use it for the snow.
I've used both. While the Ryobi is good, the EGO crushes it in performance across the board. Plus, Ryobi doesn't honor their warranties. EGO has outstanding warranty service.
Thank you for the video. It appears as if the battery for the EGO is the same for my EGO lawnmower. I have the top end EGO lawnmower. Are the batteries interchangeable in both devices?
Great review. Some things I observed. In the case of the Ryobi, I happen to have a Ryobi backpack blower along with two 4 & 6 ah batteries. Ryobi 6 amp hour batteries last significantly longer and have a more powerful Max and nominal voltage performance. So it was not surprising to see the e-go with 56v own it but I will admit I was a bit disappointed. I expected more. Another thing worth mentioning is that though Ryobi advertises the handheld blower as being its most powerful; it's not. The backpack blower is more powerful. A test was conducted that compared the two and the backpack crushed it. That's why I bought it over the handheld. The backpack blower will also blow about 25 minutes on turbo with two 6 amp hour batteries. Ryobi now makes 12 amp hour batteries so theoretically one should run for about 50 minutes and being that it would be running 12ah batteries once again the Max and nominal voltage supply to the unit would be a little higher than any of the smaller batteries. Just food for thought For the record E-go also has a backpack blower that is probably more powerful than it's top performing handheld unit.
Interesting. I haven’t tried the Ryobi backpack blower. The residential version of the EGO backpack blower actually has fewer CFMs so you must be referring to their commercial line
Both are the same price, Ego seems like a 10x better option hands down. Better battery, more powerful, easier to hold, the list goes on. I was debating which one to buy but this video clearly shows that Ego is the better option considering they're the same price now.
Which battery is the safest to keep in my apartment with wooden floors that will not explored when not being used, my 3 floor Apartment Complex is made of wood from terrace and front door too the stairs with 9 other apartments mangment doesn't do a good job on keeping area clean I can do it myself for my neighbors
I have been thinking about buying the EGO, but now I’m considering the Ryobi for the following reasons. It one with two batteries which if you add them together has a longer run time, unless you buy a extra one for the EGO which will cost you $500. Also les wear and tear with two batteries should last longer. The Ryobi is quieter probably because it is not quite as powerful. The nozzle with the variable speeds that you indicated that once you cut them you can’t go back is no big deal, just don’t cut them. You can control the air flow with the variable speed. I’m now conflicted as I was thinking about the EGO. But it will come down to the power for me as I want a blower that can blow some light snow. Great video, keep them coming.
I know I'm late to the game. I ended up buying an ego blower because it was on sale, but I am considering switching over to Ryobi because I already have the trimmer, mower, and snow blower. I got the trimmer first and absolutely love it. It works with universal attachments where the ego doesn't. I have A LOT of attachments that I got used for dirt cheap. The incompatibility with the attachments is what is keeping me from moving over to Ego. You are stuck with the ego string trimmer attachments and they are super expensive.
Based on a 40v architecture, a 4ah battery is storing 160 watts times 2 batteries for a total of 320 watts for the Ryobi; the Ego comes with a single 5ah battery on a 56v architecture for a total of 280 watts. The Ryobi includes 14.3% more battery power storage based on these shipping configurations. Seems like push overall when comparing just these tools. The real question is "Which battery ecosystem offers the best overall value when comparing all the tools you might use?" Mower, trimmer, edger, chainsaw, pole saw, snow thrower... Once your committed to an ecosystem, it makes way more sense to stay in that ecosystem even if one particular tool might slightly under-perform a rival.
Thanks for the review! The EGO is the one I'd go with. Just add another battery to the purchase. By the way... adding the cost of another EGO battery in the review would be nice,
@@TheLawnReview The EGO only does occasional front porch or back deck duty. It's also good to blow out the dryer vent. I have a lot of trees at a lake house that the 9010 is happy to deal with. I get knee deep to waist deep leaves this time of year.
@@COC785 Dryer vent is a great idea - hadn't thought of that. What part of the country do you live in? Something tells me somewhere near the appalachians.
@@TheLawnReview I'm in NC. I forgot to add the EGO is used occasionally to dry the truck after washing. The newer 765 cfm 200 mph model would probably work a lot better for drying vehicles. I normally use the 9010 or my Redmax ebz 8500 with a tapered 7500 model end nozzle.
Quite often when getting into battery powered tools you choose a brand and stay with them because of the batteries working with various tools that you buy. So if you have a string trimmer and blower and hedge trimmer etc. you will already own multiple batteries to run as long as you want.
I’ll take the Ego win with more power , & longer lasting performance even if $30 more , I’m vested more with DeWalt but from other blower reviews on them seemed to perform less favorable . The Ego blower would start my new platform followed by their trimmer , & mower that all gave great performance reviews as well.
It's all about the chosen platform, and I'm deep into the RYOBI platform, with two trimmers, blower, 2 chainsaws, lawn mower, Earth Auger, Vacuum, hedge trimmer and over 30 one plus 18v tools. So for me it's RYOBI.
@@TheLawnReview The OPE definitely benefits from having 40 volt brushless motors... Their is no comparison when it comes to their use in lawn mowers ,trimmers, blowers and chainsaws. I entered the platform with 18 volt and for hand tools work Great. My lopper, small oil less 8" chainsaw and 22" hedge trimmer are 18 volt all of the rest of my OPE I've long since upgraded to the 40 volt platform. I own 8-40volt batteries(4~6 Ah) and 13-18 volt batteries(2~6 Ah) so run time is never an issue. Gasoline has long been a thing if the past for me with the exception of my DeWalt 4400 PSI 4.0 GPM pressure washer and RYOBI 6500 Watt 240 volt Generator everything else battery, with the car being Next... Pickup truck will have to wait $$$ 🥵
It took me a year after you made it to see this review but thank you all the same. Based on the thorough review you did, even though I would probably pick the EGO by a nose, I'm going to buy the Ryobi because it was closed and I have the Ryobi snow blower and four 40V Ryobi battery so I'm already invested in the ecosystem. Thanks again, subscribed.
i need one of these two for blower for blowing the fresh snow in the winter. the flat nozzel seem to be useful for that? whcih one work better on snow?
Hi, I know this video was done some time ago, but I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed your video. I love your comparison tests, and you had a lot of fun doing it. I specifically wanted a comparison between these two blowers because, these are the most popular ones used by most Car Detailer’s. The comparison between the two is very close, and the decision is even harder, but I do know that I will definitely be buying one of these two blowers. A lot of the Detailer’s seem to like the EGO, because of the power, it will dry the car much faster, and better in some of those hard to reach areas. (Just made my mine up as I was typing this) I will get the EGO, because of the following two points: from your comparison the battery does last longer than the Ryobi’s, and also since it is more powerful I should be able to dry the car faster, which means that I can turn the blower off faster, which should make the battery last longer. I will also see if I can purchase a second battery for the EGO, which will also help. Thanks again, Dexter H.
Great Review! I have Milwaukee m18 tools & was leaning towards the Milwaukee blower, until I saw how weak & power hungry it is. The Milwaukee landscape tools also became cost prohibitive until I came accross these 2 brands. Looking at blower, trimmer, & mover & building into those products over the next 2 years. Ryobi batteries seem to be cheaper, which might be the Achilles heal with the Ego batteries. I also heard Home Depot will swap defective batteries on the spot with Ryobi, where Ego takes a few days after you make a warranty claim. Which brand would you recommend for a landscape platform?
Had a few 24v ryobi tools and they got rid of that battery platform entirely so that kinda left a bad taste with Ryobi landscaping tools. Hoping the 40v stays. It’s the huge downside of investing money into a battery platform. Milwaukee has never done that. Which is why I prefer their tools. Still don’t think battery tech is suited for most landscaping needs though no matter what the brand is

Yep - that is a really logical way to approach it. Glad you're happy and exactly what I would recommend.
On Australia Ryobi offer replacement warranty where ego offer repair warranty. Egos service can be really bad too
This is like a spin-off of the Red Green show. Entertaining, for sure
Haha I’m not sure what that is. Am I not old enough?
The chair trick was awesome. I'm returning my ryobi for the ego
Thanks Tywon! It was a blast putting this video together
Would like to know what is more important for a homeowner, cfm or mph. Is it a ratio or combination? Ace hardware has an Ego 650cfm for $219 online.
I would probably buy into the Ryobi platform, though the ego is better in power. Ryobi has far more tools to choose or historically Ryobi comes up with tools that EGO will never make.
That's definitely true. EGO is firmly in the lawn space whereas Ryobi does it all.
Ohh you make a great point about the nozzle pointing downwards. I wish I would have mentioned that!
OKay - which car do you drive?
@@TheLawnReview Haha, it's great for offroading and the EGO comes in handy when I need to wash the dirt off and blow dry. Seriously, I'm liking the balance between CFM and run time on the EGO. Works great on a not-smooth driveway with lots of dry pine needles.
Love to hear it@@terraXR
As someone withouth a lawn nor leaves to blow. This video is 10/10
Thank you!
When testing the run times you an actually see the difference in how the air disperses from each blower the ryobi seems to have a more concentrated air flow and the e go seems to fan out
Yeah the nozzle tip concentrator on the Ryobi does that. Pretty cool
5:07 You can go back if after you cut the different options you then put the smaller size inside the bigger one. Kinda like a telescope. Don't cut it at the guid line cuz it is indented cut it either after or before. This is just a theory I don't have one of those blowers so it might not work but it should. In theory
I see what you mean and I agree that might be able to work
I like the Ryobi 730 CFM blower so much that I bought another one.
Wow - you have some serious Ryobi gear! What's your favorite?
@@CALVINLNIKONT Wow - you're a dang beast man. Can't believe you figured all of that out. And I agree - they have great blowers.
Warranty is NOT the same. Ryobi offer replacement warranty while ego offer repair warranty, and their warranty service is disgusting. In Australia all Ryobi products are replacement and if you have too many problems they will give you your money back, ego will just give you a hard time when it comes to refunds.
Oh wow - did something happen to you personally with an EGO product?
@@TheLawnReview several issues. 2 faulty batteries, 1 faulty charger, 2 faulty blowers and a dodgy line trimmer. Their products are great when they work but pretty dodgy if you ask me.
@@momo_the_great6969 Sad to hear! What are you using now?
@@TheLawnReview Still using Ego but will slowly switch away to somewthing else. Was going to go Stihl but they've turned into garbage as well from everything I've been seeing. Hoping makita bring out some better stuff in the 40v range
@@momo_the_great6969 Makita is great, Milwaukee has some nice stuff as well even though its only 18V. And Dewalt has surprised us a few times as well
With the ryobi design when you did the turbo test, the log was blocking what looks to be 1/3 of the intake whereas the ego intake is further forward and unobstructed by the log at the rear of the unit. Curious if they were actually closer on that test due to the restriction. Good review!
Hey Nicholas - thanks for pointing that out. Not sure that had an impact, but certainly may have. Thanks for watching and hope you stick around!
This started from a pretty normal to chaotic review comparison towards the end with the swivel chair lol. Also, the Face Flap challenge should be a metric for all leaf blowers. Great review sir!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, face flaps should be an advertised specification for all lawn blowers.
I agree completely, those were my favorite tests. Lol
Great video! since I already have quite a few of the Ryobi 40v products, I'll vote for that one!
Awesome, thanks Gerald! Hope you stick around.
As for the cost difference, my old man was cheap, but he always said 'Be careful of what you buy because you'll always end up with what you pay for.'
Spend a little more up front, but you end up with something better forever and in the end, nobody remembers saving 30 bucks, but they'll always be reminded of making a solid purchase when they use what they got.
I have the ego and definitely hate their warranty I had it for 1 year and it just stopped working. Just bought the Ryobi and love the less noise
Wow - haven't heard of that happening before. Sorry to hear it!
The spin zone was awesome. you need a contingency plan in the event you have lift-off!!
FULL THROTTLE BABY!!! Thanks Tom!
Excellent review. Do you know the best leaf vacuum and mulcher with different sizes of bags?
I think Makita makes a really good battery powered one but there are also some really good corded ones from WORX and Ryobi. I wrote about it here: thelawnreview.com/best-leaf-blower-vacuum-combos/
@@TheLawnReview awesome! After mowing the lawn, I want to suck all the grass on the walkway. There are not a lot. So I don’t need the huge mulching bag. I am wondering if there are some smaller sized bags that I can attach to the vacuum for small amount of grass.
actually if you count the whole setup kit that they come with. Ryobi actually run longer since it comes with 2 battery and not one.
That's a good call out.
OMG, the spin test was hilarious. Very thorough comparison. 👍👍
Thank you David! Yeah things got wild hahaha
Which blower did you think was best?
I would be biased to answer that question since I have couple of ego products to include that blower, however both of them have it’s strength and weaknesses. I do like the power of ego though.
I think I'm too late to entry 🤦🏾♂️
Thanks for watching!
Ego I love ,I just bought the 16 inch trimmer love the unit they had a sale on the cheaper model came with blower. But the one zi bought ab506.00 Canadian with no blower. I LOVE THEM.
Glad you have good experiences!
I did a lot research for a blower I have a gas one but always breaking down on me so if I can pick one of this will be EGO 765.
You wouldn’t be disappointed with that.
I need string trimmer too, so im going ryobi
It’s a fine choice
I like the Ryobi one!!
Nice - do you have it?
I need a blower so bad for my lawn care, I like the blower Ryobi.
It is a really good one!
How can I get the blower for free Ryobi?
Unfortunately we already gave this one away!@@juanalbertogonzalezmartine2604
I do like the EGO for the 56 volt. Than 40volt
True - it is nice that EGO only does 56V whereas ryobi does 18 and 40
Your battery test were great! beside lil speed times swap on low speeds test
Thank you! Glad you liked it. Hope you keep watching.
I'm leaning toward the Ego 765 kit.
We are, too...what do you have now?
@@TheLawnReview I'm in the process of buying one. None at present.
@@larrymartin1580 It's worth it!
Thank you for the thorough comparison. One feature which I think is important with leaf blowers is the overall weight with the battery attached. How does the weight of these units compare?
The EGO is definitely heavier but also feels sturdier. Which one are you going with?
@@TheLawnReview Thanks for the reply. I'm leaning toward the EGO. and I see that you show the weight in your video, so sorry for asking for that info. I think I'll go with a lower power EGO (615cfm w/ 2.5 ah battery). This combo will be lighter than either of the models you compared.
@@mili224 Not a bad choice. Let me know how you like it!
Actuall test starts at 11 min. Thx for the review!
Any time!
Thanks. I was looking at these two blowers. During father's day of 2023 both kits were the same price. Lowe's did a buy $200 Gift card, get $30 so it was more work to get the same price but doable. I got the Ego, but it was a lot of back and forth, really digging the about of competition between the different brands.
Nice! In my opinion, that was a good choice!
I laughed way too hard on the spin test. Thanks for the comparison!
😂😂 thanks for watching!
For certain circumstances, these blowers will be great. For me, the best handheld blower by far, is the Husqvarna 525BX !
For home use or for landscaping use?
My favorite blower is MyWif3
Haven't heard of that one? Can you get it at Home Depot? 😆
Thank you so much!
Been waiting for this matchup. Thanks for the info!
In Canada right now, regular price, the Ego is actually $9 cheaper than the Ryobi. Thanks for this review, exactly they type of review I needed to make a decision and based on this, I would have paid more for the Ego as mentionned but it's actually cheaper, bonus!
Wow! Thanks for the update. Go grab yours!
You keep coming up with test like the faceflap and chair idea, and the next thing you know they'll be calling you "the science guy". lmbo that was pretty good, great presentation. Thinking I'm going to pick up the Ryobi tomorrow based upon this review.
Thanks for the kind words! Awesome - it is a good one. Do you have other Ryobi 40V tools?
Good information. Would love the Ryobi to replace my old weak blower. Thanks
Got you down, Brian!
Love the test you did. We have an Ego mover and love it, it cut where the 6.5hp has mover dies
That's impressive! I have a gas mower that would get choked up so easily and die. Weak sauce!
I get your comparing most powerful battery leaf blower but does most powerful ego blower compared to stihl gas I’m planning get few ego battery
Hi Nicholas, thanks for the question! Yes, the EGO is the most powerful handheld blower on the market when using the turbo button... Pretty unreal.
Just bought a 765 and it gets the job done quick. It's big and kind of heavy but no issues when using a shoulder strap. Can't wait to use it for the snow.
Hey Tweety! Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I’ve seen a lot of cool videos showing it on snow. Looks cool!
Which one 765 ego?
for snow? what fun is that. gotta use the snowblower
I've used both. While the Ryobi is good, the EGO crushes it in performance across the board.
Plus, Ryobi doesn't honor their warranties. EGO has outstanding warranty service.
Thank you for the comparison report, it really helps me to determine which one to buy.
Thanks, Danny. Which one are you going with?
Thank you for the video. It appears as if the battery for the EGO is the same for my EGO lawnmower. I have the top end EGO lawnmower. Are the batteries interchangeable in both devices?
Yes, all EGO batteries work in all EGO products - a huge benefit of going with them.
Just food for thought
For the record E-go also has a backpack blower that is probably more powerful than it's top performing handheld unit.
Interesting. I haven’t tried the Ryobi backpack blower. The residential version of the EGO backpack blower actually has fewer CFMs so you must be referring to their commercial line
I like the Ego but I have Ryobi products already so I’ll go with the Ryobi
Not a bad choice!
So do we double all the times for Ryobi since it’s 2 batteries?
No because it just holds one battery
Both are the same price, Ego seems like a 10x better option hands down. Better battery, more powerful, easier to hold, the list goes on. I was debating which one to buy but this video clearly shows that Ego is the better option considering they're the same price now.
Yep there you have it
Which battery is the safest to keep in my apartment with wooden floors that will not explored when not being used, my 3 floor Apartment Complex is made of wood from terrace and front door too the stairs with 9 other apartments mangment doesn't do a good job on keeping area clean I can do it myself for my neighbors
Either honestly.
It is mostly about getting work done. So most things being equal - go with the one that blows the best. EGO. You should lead with that.
Its true - but some folks LOVE the Ryobi
Thanks, C! Any requests of other products?
I know I'm late to the game. I ended up buying an ego blower because it was on sale, but I am considering switching over to Ryobi because I already have the trimmer, mower, and snow blower. I got the trimmer first and absolutely love it. It works with universal attachments where the ego doesn't. I have A LOT of attachments that I got used for dirt cheap.
The incompatibility with the attachments is what is keeping me from moving over to Ego. You are stuck with the ego string trimmer attachments and they are super expensive.
I have been trying to decide. This is an exceptional review! I have an Ego trimmer so will have to consider that.
They have some great string trimmers, too! We are going to review the powerhead multi tool soon, with string trimmer attachment.
Totally agree - that's how they get you. But you can save a tone of money buying tool-only versions once you have a few batteries.
Great video love the Ryobi
Thanks Bruce!
Thanks for the review! The EGO is the one I'd go with. Just add another battery to the purchase. By the way... adding the cost of another EGO battery in the review would be nice,
Thanks for the comment! I agree!
I've been using my 1st gen EGO 480 cfm for many years. Great on smooth surfaces. Ok in the grass. My ECHO PB9010T makes short work of anything else.
How do you decide when to use which?
@@COC785 Oh wow - yeah a lot of people use these for their cars after removing the nozzle.
Quite often when getting into battery powered tools you choose a brand and stay with them because of the batteries working with various tools that you buy. So if you have a string trimmer and blower and hedge trimmer etc. you will already own multiple batteries to run as long as you want.
Right - and when you buy the tool only version, you can save a TON of money.
The chair spin zone should become industry standard for blower testing.
That’s what I’m saying
Nice blower thinking of getting one👍
Which one??
I'm already in the EGO line, so that's my pick.
Love it, we got you down!
Does the ryobi blower battery work on my ryobi drill and other hand tools?
If those are 40V batteries then yes. I think k their hand tools are 18V though.
13:37 I think you got the run times switched...
Yeah I know. Unfortunately there’s no way for me to edit that once it’s posted

I’ll take the Ego win with more power , & longer lasting performance even if $30 more , I’m vested more with DeWalt but from other blower reviews on them seemed to perform less favorable . The Ego blower would start my new platform followed by their trimmer , & mower that all gave great performance reviews as well.
EGO is a wonderful brand.
It's all about the chosen platform, and I'm deep into the RYOBI platform, with two trimmers, blower, 2 chainsaws, lawn mower, Earth Auger, Vacuum, hedge trimmer and over 30 one plus 18v tools. So for me it's RYOBI.
Thanks, Robert. How do you like the 18V compared to the 40V series? Enough power?
Yeah that is not a bad option in this case
Great comparison and right to the point....I appreciate you.

Thank you for the thoughtful response and I'm glad we were able to help. Let me know how it goes!

Probably the EGO 765 with a stubby nozzle
For a landscape platform, I'd go with EGO. If you already own a bunch of Ryobi tools then I'd go with them to save money, though.
Still don’t think battery tech is suited for most landscaping needs though no matter what the brand is
great video might go with EGO
Probably the best choice 😁
