These things are great for quick clean up after mowing etc. But when it comes to fall I'm using my Redmax 8500 backpack. I got kinda burned with the one battery equipped tool I have. Several years ago I bought a 58v Poulan Pro push mower...now, it works fine and the battery reminds me a lot of that Ego's and even sounds the same on the charger. What burned me is, while the 58 volt battery works fine and is a 5.2ah battery, Husqvarna apparently stopped making different piece of equipment to use it with. I've tried looking for string trimmers, leaf blowers, etc. that use that battery and every site I've been to say they no longer carry it....and that's when I started buying gas powered Stihl equipment, LOL! Just last week I mowed the front lawn with it while I waited for Amazon to send me a new Nikki carburetor for my riding mower (Yeah, I could have rebuilt the old carb, but new carbs are fairly inexpensive so I got lazy, lol) It had plenty of battery power to mow the whole front yard and most of one side yard before it needed recharging so naturally I'd like to try it out on a blower or trimmer, they just can't be found...not even used, lol.
Hey John! Good to hear from you again bud! I like this unit but I’m not a fan of the high battery costs. I’ll keep you posted as I mess around with it some more! Have a good weekend my friend! 👍
Don’t store the battery on the charger or in the tool JB, you’ll be able to make another video when the snow falls. Use the blower to clear light snow from walkways and vehicles I’m surprised you purchased the 615 instead of the 765. Great video/information 👍🏻👍🏻
Good tips here JS! Thanks for sharing! I’m interested in trying it out come winter time! I decided on the 615 because of its price point appealing to more buyers at $200. The 765 was $330. Bit pricey for most people. You own the 765?
@@GarageGear I do not own the 765. I lost two ash trees so my leaf blower work has been left solely to grass clippings and blowing off the pool cover. I’ll likely get the 650. I’m finding that with the cordless tool kits (tool+ battery +charger) you’ll be better off shopping the battery size and your future plan of bare tool (no battery or charger) My thinking is if you were wanting a string trimmer you’d have to purchase another kit so that you also received a larger battery because your 2.5 won’t carry you through string trimming AND blowing on a single charge. I bought the mower first, 7.5ah battery with rapid charger. I can do my lawn and trim with a single charge and have the 4ah (from trimmer purchase) as backup. That’s just my plan because I will likely end up with no gas outdoor power equipment because of the convenience. Leaf blower, chainsaw and 2 stage snowblower are on the list for sure.
