    Thanks for posting this detailed review!
    These leaf shredding vacs are great for dry crispy leaves like the ones you’re using them on; they do a little less well with fresher leaves which have fallen but haven’t yet dried up to be crinkly or crispy. The vac will suck them up but can’t go as fast and won’t shred them into the same fine mulch.
    In my experience, lawnmowers are generally better for those fresher leaves than the leaf vacs are

    Al, great review. I wish EGO would make one. All my yard battery tools are EGO so I don't have a bunch of different batteries and chargers. Time for EGO's innovation team to Giddy Up😊

    Back in 2018 or 2019 my inlaws brought up their Worx leaf blower/vacuum. I get so many leaves in my back yard. I raked several piles of leaves and rather than pick up the leaves into a wheelbarrow, we used the Worx vacuum and it ended up breaking. I didn't feel like when it did work, it sucked the leaves as fast as your Ryobi did.
    I've created a new trick to pick the leaves up using two rakes and sandwich them together.
    I upgraded a 4 cu ft wheelbarrow to a 10 cu ft Gorilla poly yard cart and instead of holding 2-3 rake sandwiches of leaves, the new one holds 8-10. It's 250% larger but holds at like 400% more because the small wheelbarrow is so shallow the leaves fall or blow out so easily.
    I have an Ego mower with the high lift blade and bagger, now, so maybe I'll use that.
    Back then, I didn't have the high lift blade, and didn't think to use it for leaf collection. I would only use it for the leaves left behind.

      Hey buddy thanks for sharing
      I’m pretty sure you saw the video towards the end. I would definitely use your ego mower, but try to have a high lift blade set on there. It will make a big difference and again it mulches. From 5 to 1 at least

    • @frommatorav1
      @frommatorav1 22 дня назад

      @TechMadeEzy True, but this recent time, I was raking up small and medium branches along with the leaves. Hurricane Helene left about a thousand branches on the ground, so I didn't want to use the mower.

    It's insane that you're not sponsored more often by big companies. Your channel is amongst the best.

    • @imnotu00
      @imnotu00 24 дня назад

      @@kevingadson9315 I also own the Worx vac, and it is indeed a beast. I was looking a a battery operated vac that was closer in power to the Worx than the Sun Joe blower/vac or older Ryobi…and this new Ryobi vac is a beast. It has Worx like suction. You are limited by battery, but on the hand, you’re not
      Constrained by a cord. I’m keeping my Ryobi vac
      Because it does meet my unique needs. I will only even use it as a vaccum.
      I have a dedicated ego blower. I was hoping ego would release an ego vac… but I got tired of waiting and took my first plunge into the Ryobi 40 volt line. Not really happy about entering a new battery eco system… but Ryobi has what I need.

    One thing I would change with this ryobi vacuumed/ blower is the mulching blade should be made of metal, it looked like plastic, and for the price you paid, I would have expected it to be made of metal, I contacted ego a couple years ago and told the a walk behind leafvacume/blower would be a great tool for homeowners with big properties, we have a few gas models and it comes with a big hose that you detach from the unit to clean out flowerbeds. Great video and the leaf cleanup in hyperlapse was so satisfying.mkeep up the great work my friend

    Turning that dial is a PIA. If you can afford it, I recommend keeping this as a dedicated vac to avoid messing with the the dial and fumbling with the end connections. You don’t even need to take the bag off to empty. I figure the more truning of that knob, the more likely to break the maxhine. This IS
    Currently the best,
    Most powerful battery operated leaf blower on the market. It CAN EASILY compete with Worx….
    Some trade off is battery
    Life, vs being tethered to a cord.

    Did you see that EGO is releasing one of these leaf vacs soon? Would you consider picking one up? My fear is that if the Ryobi version is almost $500, I’m terrified to see what the price for the EGO will be LOL

    I bought it and I'm using it. The turning of the knob gets ridiculously hard sometimes. That's really the only fault I have

    • @TechMadeEzy
      @TechMadeEzy  17 дней назад

      I think I’m gonna leave the knob towards VAC and just use it as a VC. I already have good blowers.

      @paramountx 17 дней назад +1

      @TechMadeEzy yeah me too I have the ego one but at first I was actually taking it off because I was trying to empty the bag. So take the whole bag off. Cuz that zipper is kind of weird to try to take off the bag to empty it so it's easier for me to take remove the bag well not anymore it's not easy.
      All I have is the garbage pail and the vacuum. So when I try to empty the bag I put the bag inside the garbage pail with one hand and then I'm holding the vac in one hand. And I can't unzipper her at the same time I'm holding it so it becomes really hard

    Hey Al, was thinking about upgrading my leaf mulcher. Really don’t care about how well it blows leaves as I have my handy dandy ego. Do you know if this is better than the black decker bebl700? Amazon says black decker is 250 MPH but I doubt that lol. Also would mph listed be for blowing only or does it apply to mulching as well?

    • @TechMadeEzy
      @TechMadeEzy  17 дней назад +1

      That's corded it might do better on the vac side, I have a worx leaf vac and although the specs are below this Ryobi it seems to vac better BUT grab the Ryobi it's on sale at Home Depot for $299

    • @TechMadeEzy
      @TechMadeEzy  23 дня назад

      I’m talking by experience, not by spec. Being plugged in, probably helps that motor be more powerful because believe me I have had no issues sucking up stuff and not much bogging down.

  • @justicator
    @justicator 24 дня назад +1

    I bought the other style of ryobi leaf vacuum and it's not really worth it. The opening is so small and you still need to carry the heavy bag to the dump site. Also if you mulch too much the bag gets so compacted and full that it doesn't dump out well and a lot of shaking and loosening takes a lot of effort.

    • @justicator
      @justicator 24 дня назад

      Also if the leaves are even slightly damp it really hampers performance
