Though I'm a diehard wet shaver, I've always had some type of facial hair since 1979, from a mustache to a goatee, to a full blown beard (my winter look). I can't imagine my face without! Kudos to you for going clean shaven...looks good on you.
Castle Forbes is my go-to. I'm a ginger so my skin is super sensitive, and to top it off my beard hair is very course. I do not get skin irritation when using their products. I get over a year of shaves from a single tub of their soap. They make a very high quality product that is worth the cost.
Hi Matt. Been using my new Muhle r41 twist for a month now decided to grab my revamped Gillette E-1 Fatboy this morning. For anyone wanting to know how to improve on perfection just send a Fatboy into Razor Emporium for a revamp I opted for the Rodium . Thanks again to you and your employees the communication throughout the revamp process was above and beyond any company that I have ever dealt with! Merry Christmas to you and your family along with all of your Great employees Sincerely Ed.
The twig has been the one that got me started and hooked on wet shaving. I tried many others. For me, this one has been it. It's super easy to get into, and it does a great job even with the blades they give you. Doesn't clog. Easy to clean. Leaves me skin irritation free. Best bang for your buck in my opinion.
Great video Matt, Castle Forbes fantastic products, a few years ago i had the Limes scent which smelt like putting real limes on your face your shave today has just reminded me of it, i must get some more, all the best Mark.
Oh wow... I just trimmed down my upper lip too. After letting it grow for Mowvember. I LOOK COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!!! Matt I agree with the fun part of shaving. Having all these razors and soaps is just so much fun. For me it's a luxury, something just for myself... Looking good there.
I bought 12 of the 3 kinds because I didn’t think I could hand that delicate mechanism to my grandkids. I am glad I did because this included gold and silver ones which they have discontinued. It is kind of tedious to put the 3 bladed in, but the great shave is worth it.
You look great, Matt. For a cream I use the almond as the more or less correct amount or size to use for a shave. I kind of know how you feel about your mustache. I had a full beard for years and years and decided one day to shave it off. Just an impulse. The way I did it was to go to my barber on a Friday afternoon and tell him I wanted it trimmed off to short stubble. I went home and shaved off the rest. Been clean shaven ever since. Coming in to work on Monday morning and surprised everyone. People did a lot of double takes. That started my search for a good shave and that took a while. First tried electric razors and that didn't work out. Went with the multi-blade shaver and that was not good. Eventually wound up with using DE, a brush and a good cream or soap. Now I can't imagine myself not being totally clean shaven. I look forward to it each morning.
Matt, you look much better and younger. You clean up nicely. However, if Mama likes facial hair, then I understand. Back when I used to grow the facial hair I had and still have a pair of battery-operated clippers I used when I shaved off the beard or goatee. It cut it down to about 2-3 days growth which in turn made it easier to mow off since my beard is thick like yours. Today, I stay clean-shaven due to my beard being anywhere from gray to almost white in certain places. Enjoyed your video!!!
Love that you use so little soap, but you got great lather. What was brush you used? Sounded like a Bore Brush, am I right? Another great info release.
Hahahahahaha. I thought you were talking about the town of Chandler. We have a yard there and I thought it was something to do with how the people are there.
I loved the last video with you hacking off the last bit of hair on your face! Now you have a bald face but as you mentioned not for long. I own and have used the Leaf thorn razor which is very nice especially for tight areas. Lately I have gotten into slant razors which seem to cut more efficiently than most other razors. I currently own six different slant razors and It seems like I'm becoming a razor junkie!
Funny what people are self conscious about. If you hadn’t pointed that scar out I don’t think I would have even noticed it. As for Leaf, I have the Thorn and love it. Great razor. I need to get the Twig.
Thnx Matt Curious the brush you was using? My favorite single edge👌Bought my oldest son a twig, loved it he upgraded to the 3-bladed one loved it better/ he’s a 8-5er. He then gifted me one. I’m enjoy the long experience. I shelved, some day? I don’t get in a hurry for no one. Brush? Thnx
Nice clean-off! You look like a kid again 😉 I used my Rex Ambassador this morning. You would have had no problem with the mustache if you had used the RA.
The Leaf Twig was too mild for my liking. I gave it away to a young friend and he really enjoys it. Picked up a Parker Solo Edge and love it. I have not tried it yet with a Rex blade, but I'll try one with it today. Matt, any chance of Rex coming out with an SE razor? Would love to see some Rex SE blades too. Yes, we can snap a DE, but I like the small travel footprint of a one hundred pack of SE blades.
The Twig is a good razor but much too mild for a beard that dense, and you should have used scissors or a beard trimmer on that 'stache first. That said I think you look best either totally clean shaven or with the goatee. Look forward to seeing what I assume will be a full beard, ZZ Top style, lol.
I use a Wilkinson Sword Classic(the black version). I use it with the Gillette Platinum(the blue ones) and the Gillette Stainless(the red ones). I get irritation on the neck and below the jaw when going against the grain on the third pass. I tried Astra Superior Platinum blades and got even worse irritation. What sample pack would be best for me?
I'm on my second leaf twig in three years, they replaced first one no charge, second one on its way out. Screw mechanism to open and close so tight, won't fully open, I oiled it, helps a little. Too many working parts, imho.
Nope. Keeping the MOvember stache. No more beards. Too much grey. I enjoy shaving the rest of my face. You were particularly spirited today. Made me laugh a few times. Thanks!
Matt you are like a teen now! 😅 About the products: I like personally shaving products from the countries I have a good memories from. Scotland hmm… I prefer Italian weather 😅 However Leaf (too mild from looking on the shave) Taiwan… nice! Maybe it’s time to discover some products from East South Asia? Taiwan, Philippines, Japan… There must be something!? Japan has a great Feather… what are they using it with? 😅 Anyway have a Marry Christmas and all the best in NY!
Excellent showing for the Leaf. However, I’m impressed with the lack of cream to make that lather. You either need to shave it all or get the goatee back for sure. The mustache only was not the best look; even though you have a very Tom Selleck stache.
For those first time shavers, it may be very helpful. To get people to think strategically about shaving a mustache or a goatee or a beard. Don’t believe the hype -wisdom should win out! P.S. I do like when you slap your face around a lot it’s quite funny !
While I enjoyed the feel of the leaf twig It didn't work for me and the cost either so I didn't keep it meaning it didn't shave at all especially on my stubble stache and chin i was really disappointed
Don't you think open comb razor could be much more efficient for long hair? For me, it's almost as efficient as a straight razor, just with safety of safety razor. Edwin Jagger clearly did so well because it's kinda hybrid between OC and SB (I mean that wavy bar). I always use my only OC - Old Type for shaving long hair. But never for 1-5 days of stubble ;)
Leafs head too HUGE should be necessary using two different razors to shave i keep a beard i edge here and there the Leaf pulls hairs when edging a beard no longer use it waste of money since you need tons of passes removing the moustache get a One blade to get the most of it off
Looks far better Matt - it takes 10 years off you !
I agree 100%
Sure. Full shave❤ All the power!!!❤😂
I guess that's why they call it a babyface haha

wow thanks for the great compliment! I will share with our staff :)
Thanks for the super fun video and some insight to who you are!❤

Great shave Matt!
Nicely shaved. I haven't used my Twig in a while. This inspired me to use it next. It is such a nimble little tool.
2 months with the Leaf Twig that got me started wet shaving. I like the single blade.
Looks great Matt!
Great video Matt, Castle Forbes fantastic products, a few years ago i had the Limes scent which smelt like putting real limes on your face your shave today has just reminded me of it, i must get some more, all the best Mark.
Sounds great!
Merry Christmas to everyone there. Have a safe one.
It does make you look younger - great shave. I'll have to look at picking up some Castle Forbes.
Thanks - great stuff!
Looking good clean shaven.
Holy crap you look great Matt! Thank you so much for this review! Very interesting product. Love it!
Thanks so much!

Merry Christmas to you and yours! thx

I recently put my twig back in rotation and love it.
I like my Twig. Does a very good job around my nose area.
Matt is back. Yeah. All the power, men!!!❤😂
Very nice review, Matt!
YAYYY!!! Looks like you're gettin' ready for a handsome contest! :)
Aww shucks ☺️
Well done Matt, I think I’ve been clean shaven for 40 years 😂
I got the twig thorn on black Friday and it gives a great shave. I would consider it a mild razor. I use the the 3 blade leaf on my head.
You look better clean shaven! Looking younger!!!
Nice review!
You look great, Matt.

I give you 2 months tops until you shave again. It’s hard enough to go a day without the joy of a good shave!!
i can't go that long lol likely will grow a beard for 30-45 days tops :)
Love that you use so little soap, but you got great lather. What was brush you used?
Sounded like a Bore Brush, am I right?
Another great info release.
razor emporium badger brush for $30. lives on set.
For the 'stach, you should've used the Konsul. This way it would've demonstrated its effectiveness with the slant.
Ya but I was trying to use a different razor
I didn't even notice your lip scar until you mentioned it lol
thx
Matt has a little Chandler Bing in him. Snarky, sarcastic, brash and zany.
thanks though I never liked that show too much. a little too sappy.
Hahahahahaha. I thought you were talking about the town of Chandler. We have a yard there and I thought it was something to do with how the people are there.

The twig was trying to hang on for dear life in a life or death battle against your mustache. For a moment I almost thought the mustache would win.
🤣🤣
💈💈👍👍 Castle Forbes Lime creme and balm is nice. Posh is the word.... Thanks Matt.
Lookin good, Mat! Hey what kind of watches do you usually wear?
lately its been a fitbit. But for a smart look I just have a basic Seiko.
@@RazorEmporiumright on. ✊🏼
Finally, the real you😊
Lookin' good!
I hear you. That's the toughest part of my beard my upper lip and chin. If i dont go atg (fools pass) with a straight or de i have a Shadow.
Matt you look alike real sharp buinessman sir nice razor and shave happy Christmas ❤
I've had my goatee and stash for over 40 years. It's not coming off until they do an autopsy too.
Funny what people are self conscious about. If you hadn’t pointed that scar out I don’t think I would have even noticed it. As for Leaf, I have the Thorn and love it. Great razor. I need to get the Twig.
Thx
Good looking! minus 10 years!
Leaf amkes some gray products, I have them in my den. Now I should take a second look at Castle Forbes.
Looks good
I remember clean shaving about 3 years ago and I felt naked. I kept trying to play with my goatee and nothing was there.
Thnx Matt

Matt is a man...who was once a young man...who grew into becoming a seasoned man...who shaved a moustache...and became a young man again. 😁😁😁😁😁
full circle :)

I tried Astra Superior Platinum blades and got even worse irritation.
What sample pack would be best for me?
Maybe try sensitive skin
@RazorEmporium The sensitive skin pack from Razor Emporium?
That game of hide and seek was lit
🤣
Next time, grab a Feather Artist Club razor. Saves you so much hassle on the stache :P
I'm on my second leaf twig in three years, they replaced first one no charge, second one on its way out. Screw mechanism to open and close so tight, won't fully open, I oiled it, helps a little. Too many working parts, imho.
Hmm. before oiling did you try dish detergent? Gotta remove soap scum before you lubricate. Glad they took care of you.
Nope. Keeping the MOvember stache. No more beards. Too much grey. I enjoy shaving the rest of my face. You were particularly spirited today. Made me laugh a few times. Thanks!
thanks!
top video👍

The normal leaf works better than a double edge for me, (I shave my head and face) other peoples mileage may vary though
Nice! You look much better Matt. Bag the beard and moustache and go clean shaven. You look much more professional.
Thx
Should have used your Ambassador cranked up to 11 (I know it only goes to 6, but 'Spinal Tap')
lol
absolutely love your videos! but slight gripe is the opening music, it's too.. sad. maybe you can change it to something more enegergetic?
I appreciate the feedback!
Matt is a reason why you didn’t trim your mustache first and then shave it?
I get told that is too normal / boring
For those first time shavers, it may be very helpful. To get people to think strategically about shaving a mustache or a goatee or a beard. Don’t believe the hype -wisdom should win out!

@RazorEmporium no problem back it was a horrible experience
Matt. You’re freaking hilarious, dude. Love your videos and your sense of humor
Lol thx 🙏
Whoa, Matt! You might get carded if you try to buy beer without that mustache.
Lol
I've been watching you for a long time, but I've never seen you shave with pleasure, which is why I don't subscribe to your channel. Keep it up.
I don't understand. You think I don't shave with pleasure? I always have a good time on camera!
😂 Matt singing Taylor swift
yup. #dealwithit

@RazorEmporium that one is for you to do😊
Amazing shave Matt!!!!
