I think Deliverance profited a lot of the remaster. To me it sounds much more nuanced. Damnation was mostly ok for me. The first three Albums could get (need) a remaster even more then Deliverance. But maybe they haven't the masters or it just won't pay.
This was the first song I ever heard from Opeth, back in 2004. It was in MTV headbangers ball late one night. I immediately went out and purchased the first Opeth album I found at my local HMV. Which was Still Life. To my shock it was way heavier than I expected, I thought all their music would sound like windowpane, boy was I shocked but in a really good way. I instantly became a mega fan and have loved them ever since.
HAHA - If my memory series me correctly - wasnt that what he said on the Camden Roundhouse gig some years back?? I was in the crowd for that one but its so long ago
The funny thing is, out of all of their albums, i feel damnation and deliverance are not much in need of a remix
only albums maybe needing a remix are the first 3
and then it must be done carefully.
I’d say MAYH would benefit most from a remix/remaster, but then they may not have the original tapes.
I agree, they were perfect already. Sorceress on the other hand, those drums which sound like they were recorded underwater...

Because Steven Wilson produced them and they're immaculate. Either way the original mixes and the remixed both have something to offer
my favorite Opeth album.

The only 2 albums that need no remixes are damnation and watershed.

who
This didn't need to be remixed but you know how record labels are.
Still an awesome song regardless.
Disagree completely.
Agree completely

Agree and disagree in equal measure
@@MatthewNope Not me, I'm VERY ambivalent.
Not a fan of the remixed snare sound
