I added Wenning Warm-ups about six months ago, initially adding two cycles, waiting for my main lifts to go back up and then six weeks ago adding a third cycle. All but my bench have gone up and my bench is back on its way. Fitness and recovery have all improved and I feel less injury prone as a 45 year old lifter.

Excellent tip from Matt. With Wenning Warmups, you can kind of "sneak" a lot of volume into your program that puts more muscle on you, and addresses weaknesses. I do the band leg curls as warmups and my 30 year history of hamstring cramps came to an end, at age 65 !!! Thanks Matt!!!

I did 4sets of light lat pulldowns (around 30-35lbs) for 25 reps super set with tricep pushdowns using the same lat pulldown machine (15 lbs) for 25 reps and used a 10 lb dumbbell for 25 reps of standing shoulder press (one arm at a time). Repeat those 3 exercises back to back for 4 sets and you're plenty warmed up. I then only did 2 light warm ups on flat bench (95lbs x 8, 115 x 8). Please elaborate on triceps being the primary mover in the bench press. The pecs are big kick ass muscles that are primarily fast twitch but of course triceps lock out the weight. Longer-armed people have to rely on delts and pecs more. Although, I think triceps are typically involved far more in pressing than biceps are in pulling.

Buy a bulley to put on your power rack for 60 bucks and then buy attachments as you need them. Also, buy some workout bands

this is solid content; you can tell you train with longevity in mind. Could you possibly do a vid on the possibility of training by 'instinct' by following a few principles and knowing your body? Thanks for the info

This is great, can’t wait to implement. It will be awhile, upcoming surgery and then recovery and therapy. Just curious after benching about doing accessories, pin press, floor press, etc. I’m guessing I’ll be spent! Hahaha. Watched lower body warmup video and plan on using it tomorrow.

"Sometime's your body is smarter than you".
    What a great quote!
The only thing I would change is the word, 'Sometime's', because your body is ALWAYS SMARTER THAN YOU!
You will never cheat your body, ever!
    Great advice.

This warm up has been fantastic for me Matt, thank you so much. DO you have a video similar for lower body? If not would it just be leg press, curls, and a hip warming exercise for 4x25?
