  • Before slamming some whiskey and deadlifts, Chris Duffin takes Mark Bell and Silent Mike through a targeted warm up for the lower body. He focuses on their hips and emphasizes movement instead of stretching.

This is pure gold. This is the ultimate level of knowledge: Scientific approach proven empirically, and transmitted by experienced people. I don't even know how to thank you guys. You have absolutely no idea who i am, yet you have become my coaches. Through SuperTraining videos and Chris Duffin videos I have been able to fix a number of problems I had been struggling with for years. I hadn't been able to squat pain-free for weeks due to FAI in my right hip. I tried this warmup and this is the FIRST time in weeks and weeks that I have been able to really produce power under the barbell and complete a full ROM with NO SIGN OF HIP PAIN. I also was able to go through my full workout with no belt at all (I'm guessing the glute activation part did wonders , my hips felt as if someone injected holy water right into my hip joints guys, I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH, I DON'T KNOW HOW TO THANK YOU. PLEASE RECEIVE MY ABSOLUTE WORD OF GRATITUDE from Venezuela

Ive been doing this as a warmup and following some of Chris's tips of compression in the groin from his older videos after I tore my groin about 2 months back and im at about 90% of my pre injury now. Glad to see he incorporates the hip circle in the sumo goblets now because I have been doing the same for a while and man do my glutes fire.

Thank you guys for this video. I'm a beginner getting into powerlifting and I have been experiencing lower back pain after I squat and deadlift. I am now doing these warmups before I lift and now I am able to lift heavy and experience no pain afterwards. thank you Mark Bell, Chris Duffin and Silent Mike.

This is great content. I don't do any stretching before a workout. I just activate my glutes, ab and adductors, core and then try to co-contract all of these under a "brace". And my mobility in the squat has improved so much.

this was so helpful Mark! I've had an annoying lower back injury over the last few years and I think its because my hips are so tight. I haven't consistantly warmed up properly for squats and deadlifts and it kills. After doing these my hips and lower back feel better. I'm going to do this before I hit deadlifts tomorrow, I cant wait!

  • @jordanh9550

I did these warm ups, but i did all four done as a "circuit" so to speak rather than one then the other. I was having issues with my hips and back at around 545lb wrapless on squats. Did this the next week, I got 545 for an all out 6 because of this. Everything moved like butter. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS!! I did it for my deadlifts as well. I had to work up to 675 for 3x3, and god damn it made it feel so smooth. Prevents me from "lurching" forward on both lifts. Well done Chris, Mike and Mark!

After months of foam rolling before skwats and being unable to find an effective warmup circuit, I tried this today and felt as good if not better than foam rolling before. Quicker and not as gay as having to roll. Did these exercises in a circuit 2-3 times and will use before every skwat sesh. Keep up the vids man, all of them are so helpful for powerlifting novices
