And yet another amazing, awesome BTS content! Thanks Vanessa, the photos were just gorgeous, but the best part was her Mom being such an awesome assistant!
INCREDIBLE camera that WE are seeing through, I don’t know how you kept the VLOG camera perfectly aimed - great work and thank the bride for allowing us these views!
Not my genre but impressed by your video and photography! Those shots around 30:16: amazing. Would love to see how you edit too, maybe it's in your other videos. I'll have a look! Have a great day!
Wow, a reflector Mom. LOL Love the shot with all the reflections in the mirror. Fantastic shoot girl. The bride was absolutely gorgeous. Being a model sure didn't hurt. LOL About your Profoto strobe transmitter, I noticed your using the older model but what do you think about the new one they came out with? Besides shoot wedding marathons and chasing around your kids how do you keep those gorgeous legs of yours in shape?
Just when I think you can't get hotter, you're a bourbon girl! ;-) This is a really helpful bts, but you were right, she looks like a stunning model already, which is extremely forgiving. The location looked pretty stunning too. Still, very handy to watch everything you do with her and her Mum, how you pose, interact and move from one to the other. 'Bridals' look like a good idea too, not just as another revenue stream! Your husbands video was excellent, great mood and the choice of music was excellent, props to him. Not a bad team!!
Wow Vanessa, these pictures are so beautiful!! 😍 I love these BTS videos so much!! I feel like I learn more from just seeing your client interactions each time :)
Such a wonderful insight during the session!..and of course the finished images!..just curious what was that "shadow" or object on the top of the stairs in the hallway..not the door obvioulsy..lol but it looked like a chair? a shadow of something on the left side wall on the hallway.. in the time stamp of 12:59 and 13:3513:4714:00 and so on on some of the images during the staircase shots. When I looked at the photo..of course staircase..leading lines led me to look up and thats when I noticed that "dark object/shadow?"..its a small detail..lol but a little OCD would have kicked in inside me lol and I would have wanted to edit that out its distracting to me..haha thats just me though haha the veil shots was so great!..keep up the wonderful work as always!.
Just picked up an 85 f1.2 cannot wait to try it on my next session and I also have the R5 - can’t wait to see this session! Also a lover of Bourbon and may need to check that bourbon out!
Glad to see you enjoy Bourbon, 😉 in my humble opinion check out Boman Brothers they are out of Fredericksburg Va use the mash from Buffalo Trace .. they are a Part of the sarnak conglomerate great price point the John J is thier premiere but all 3 they sell are very good 👍 if you are ever in Fredericksburg va they have a great tour! Thank you for your most excellent content on photography 📸 :)
You are a TV show waiting to happen. Great on camera and your work is incredible and interesting. I have an interesting idea for a show if you’re ever thoughtful of something like that. Joined your Insiders , love it, would recommend to anyone wanting to learn and be apart of a community.
I try to, but bc I shoot tethered a lot (turning the camera off ruins the wires or wireless connection) or I have to do it quickly and don’t have the six seconds to spare for the on and off, it’s not the solid habit it should be.
I just bought several lenses for my new camera rental company called Camera Leader in Panama City Beach, Florida. One of the lenses is the Cannon RF 85mm f1.2l ds ii. Now I just need to figure out which bodies to order to go with all the lenses lol.
Hey Vanessa, I don't know if you know, but I thought I would ask since you are an Explorer of Light. Does Canon have plans to bring back any destination workshops again in the future? I am guessing the pandemic ended them, but I haven't seen any new ones posted at all. I went to one a few years ago and learned a lot! Would like to do some more.
I guess what i am asking is how did you keep the white... white color of the room and the dress in camera?? with several different shades of blues and oranges that is present in the room?
Hey Vanessa whats better, capture one or lightroom? Im just an amateur and dont want to pay for a subscription, but if you say lightroom is better, then i will pay for it.... Thanks. Im from europe, so what is bourbon? Is it like whiskey? BTW im gonna move to texas, the woman there are gorgeous 😀
Yup - like whiskey! Sooooo that’s hard to say. I think Capture One tethers better and reads raw file data better and with more detail and ability to manipulate the image with a higher quality. Lightroom is an easier workhorse for me because of the mobile app and I’m just used to it so I can operate it faster. If I were you, I’d download a trial of both and edit the same five pictures in both and see what you like better
I had the feeling the bride didn't have anything to hold with their hands. Why wasn't the bouquet not included in this shooting? Were the flowers not so fresh or there was another reason?
@@VanessaJoy Thank you, I am not familiar with US prices. A beautiful bouquet made full of roses costs about 75-100$ in Hungary. ... and photographer prices are cheaper but the photography equipment costs way more due to taxes and VAT.
A very nice Session. Very amazing bride. An extraordinary photographer❤. Good equipment. I also own that equipment, but my results look in comparison….😢😢😢😅hahaha!
I’m not really sure what you’re referring to but I absolutely have open conversations with my clients about their photography. I’m there to serve them, not myself.
I love doing bridal sessions, they can really let the creativity flow without the time constraints you have on wedding day.
Agreed!
I LOVE the black & white photo with reflection in the mirror at 11:20. The bride is a perfect looking woman.
She really is stunning

Absolutely stunning photos! The bride is very good at posing too :)
She is!!! She has done modeling and pageants so I was quite lucky 😂
@@VanessaJoy Your skills are amazing too, learned a lot from this video :)

Mom's white tee for the win! Great situational awareness on your part.
Haha right?? Best MOB award for sure
Muchas gracias Vanessa
You are perfect for beginners and also beautiful in every looks
Such great info...thanks for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
the Images look Beautiful.

If those lights in the back (for that last photos) were on, that would be epic. Still, amazing photos, love it!
Burbon in a beer mug love it 😀
I swear you make this look so easy.
Aw thx ☺️
Great photos! How is the camera (gopro i assume) attached to get this angle =?
With an L- bracket ☺️
Omg these are stunning
So good
Thx!
Waiting for FedEx to deliver this lens right now. Can't wait to shoot with it.
Loved the pov style shoot. What gear were you using to capture your bts

I’m in PA, and never even knew it was a thing. Huh, wish we did this more around here.
Yeah it doesn’t really exist there

Nice pick on the bourbon, you should give Still Austin a try.
Will do!

So happy you’re an INSIDER!!! Haha and a TV show would be interesting 😂 and likely traumatizing
what are the best white balance settings in every situation ?
AWB white priority
Awesome experience. 🎁
Great images, a hard to watch when camera vertical as kept twisting my head, lol. But great to see pov from this shoot.
lol yeah that part isn’t my favorite either - but better than vertical video??
I was hoping to see you take photos off the bourbon. ;^)
Lol I should’ve
Wait..do you not turn your camera off when you change lenses?
I try to, but bc I shoot tethered a lot (turning the camera off ruins the wires or wireless connection) or I have to do it quickly and don’t have the six seconds to spare for the on and off, it’s not the solid habit it should be.
@@VanessaJoy Gotcha,.. i was like wait a minute lol
How much do bridal sessions for?
I charge $950 for the hour and then everything else is bought afterwards
How are you attaching your video camera to your camera?
Like this instagram.com/reel/Cg_8lZdl7Hh/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

What brackets are you using to hold the GoPro in POV show
Basic L bracket with a small rig attachment 🙏

Oooo good question!! I hope so but they haven’t told me anything yet ☺️
do you have any idea where wrought iron came from on the outside photos?
I don’t. The owners of Ma Maison built the place from the ground up but not sure about the gazebo’s origin. So pretty tho!
Hi, i think yout title is wrong - because you used the RF 28-70 2.0 instead of the RF 85 1.2.? Greetings, Peter
I used both 😉
@@VanessaJoy oh 😬. I think I should go for a second time. 😊 thx for your answer and your great videos! Greetings from Austria
Do you think using a Circular Polarizer to diminish the shine on her face from the sunlight through the window would have been a good idea?
Potentially!
@@VanessaJoyor is the shine on her chest on 6:24 wanted?
Didn’t have any complaints 🤷🏻♀️
The brides you keep coming up with are just stunning, Vanessa! Just like your shots. I hope bugs and mosquitoes were the only disappointment. 😁😁😁
Real brides ☺️ lol real mosquitoes
I was hoping to see a cameo from Robert Jacob Lerma (everyone's favorite BBQ photographer) while you were at Treaty Oak 😔
Oooo
Sounds yummy
Do you mind saying the camera bag name? I have been searching for similar one in India but not able to.
It’s a Kelly Moore bag ☺️
what was the ISO/Kelvin temp setting on the camera in the bedroom with several different shades of blues and oranges?
Auto ☺️
I guess what i am asking is how did you keep the white... white color of the room and the dress in camera?? with several different shades of blues and oranges that is present in the room?
Balanced for the white of the dress ☺️

L bracket w a go pro?
Yup!
@@VanessaJoy THANK YOU! I use my left eye on the EVF. think it won’t get in my way?
I had the feeling the bride didn't have anything to hold with their hands. Why wasn't the bouquet not included in this shooting? Were the flowers not so fresh or there was another reason?
Bridal bouquets are about $500, so it’s not always something that comes to a bridal shoot ☺️

Your POV baffles me. It’s not attached to the camera, yet it rotates with the main camera. Wait - it’s a parrot-cam on your shoulder!?

you let clients make edit suggestions during a live review session? Clients do not know what is good for them. That's why they pay us.
