You'll have to implode the Abrahamic religions.
I research their foundations, and there is a problem regarding the prototype of the "Star of David," the proto-Aeolic capitals, and the Corinthian Order of Western Civilization. If it sounds like a bunch of random words, ask GPT4 what I mean. It is going to completely shatter the foundation of Western Civilization, and though GPT4 may be able to outline some of this for you, AGI will be able to reconstruct the hypothesis from this comment alone and confirm it as true by the time you finish thinking about this comment.
It has to do with Saffron, Hursag, and the Ugaritic word for the mountain of the abode of El, which is derived from Sumerian Hursag, which itself is a homograph of Azubir, the etymon of Saffron.

I think the only way to go is to have ai completely distributed. Not centrally controlled at all. We need every individual to drive it in their own unique way how they see fit for their unique context and resources. This will make it a truly distributed intelligence and give alignment the best chance.
People will have increased agency but there will be a level playing field. There will be good agents and bad agents. We all get to choose who to align ourselves with. Essentially the same as it is today. You already choose your doctor, your lawyer, which police officer to trust etc. If the people have the ai then all will be in as much balance as is possible.
Otherwise the people will end up giving everything away to the central authority and become passive to their overlord.

We lost our first battle against AI long before the advent of this new wave of LLMs. Our initial defeat was to simple social media algorithms. As a result, we have become a mentally ill society, unable to agree on simple truths. Yet, somehow, some people believe that with even more capable AI, we will achieve some sort of utopia.

Our defeat is not the fault of A.I. We are defeated when we lose our autonomy.
Unfortunately, we were all defeated long ago because pretty much all of us stopped caring about our autonomy in the first place. When we fail to remember to defend our autonomy, we let ourselves become distracted and lose focus on the only thing, other than air, food, and water, that is, has always been, and will always be objectively necessary for our survival as humans. We are defeated when we fail to remember that our autonomy is by far the most important thing in our existence, when we fail to teach our children the value of our autonomy, and when we fail to remember who threatens our autonomy or that it is actually threatened to begin with.
Our greatest gift and our greatest strength is our individualism - our freedom, our autonomy. We don't live just to be alive; we live to be free to live and to love those that choose to live amongst and love us. It is what defines our existence and forms the basis of the only objective truths that exist. Without it, there would not be a concept of self. It separates us from all other known life. The only objective set of morals is born with our knowledge of autonomy. It is the responsibility of all of us to maintain focus on the fact that there are people whose ultimate goal is to control the rest of us - to take our autonomy.
By now, it is far too late for the last few of us out here who are still paying attention to the fact that a fight is even happening to begin with, one that has been raging since the start of civilization. We have lost the ability to defend our autonomy against the sheer number of systems and tools being wielded against us. We have failed to do what it takes to defend against this one true evil, and as a result, we have been defeated.

Whilst claiming to be the land of the free, they pursue with dogged determination anyone who dares to speak out against illegal actions covered up by their governments of either Republican or Democrat. People such as Edward Snowden and Julian Assange are heroes to me, but like all whistleblowers, their lives are destroyed as a result of doing the right thing. The appointment of an NSA heavyweight to OpenAI is a disaster in my view. The connection between the NSA, government and OpenAI is now held out for public view. So much metadata that it could never be properly processed by human labor to achieve a non-trivial result. Enter stage right massive compute capability and AGI. I wonder how long it will take the NSA to process the metatdata and add the results to the information they keep on all americans. With all that compute capability, they should be able to determine who owns the phone numbers and IP numbers in the metadata, then research the relationships between the individuals and start drawing questionable conclusions about the affiliations and potential motivations of American citizens.

What are 'rogue states'? That is a relative statement, even though in the west most people will automatically think of the same countries. But in many other parts of the world, the US is seen as a rogue (meaning: unprincipled, deceitful, and unreliable) state with far more power over a long list of other countries than it should have.

I took a 30 year break from my AI research because I didn't want my technology in the hands of the military. I know that many others were as concerned and did the same. I only developed enough of it to prove my theories and that the systems that I designed worked. Of course for most of that time there were no GPUs to speak of so most of it was theoretical. Now we're in this race but thanks to the Internet and information spreaders such as Wes, Open Source LLMs and Open Source AI technology makes the dangerous world of AI supermacy a little bit safer.
