Another cool use of gaming AI is to have a companion, a gaming buddy, if you’re a lonely gamer type with no friends. It could play along with you, explore, comment and joke about the game or whatever.

I would love to see a professional magician try to fool the AI on the webcam. Starting small by, say, swapping the drinks to the other hand and seeing if it trips up; and then getting into higher end tricks.

The Alloy voice assistant and game assistants is getting the point where i am amazed and getting really hyped for the future. I would try out games i normally wouldn't if i had some guide i can ask any weird question i have. Maybe i would finally give Civilisation games a chance.

Prompt it to go through its reasoning step by step or reflecting on its answer before output, and ask it to fact check in the next prompt to minimize hallucinations.
You should never trust it. Never.
You shouldn't trust any information you get on your screen without some process of verification. Obviously when it comes to personal relationships that's different.
Do you commonly trust the info you get from video games?
They can never be completely trusted, but they are not algorhytmic programs, they are heuristic. You can't trust humans fully either, you are just a more experiences judge of human trustworthiness.

I am most interested in smart npcs and or game ai. I don't play a lot of games, but am interested in developing them. I think people would love NPC enabled games.
I suspect advanced NPCs will create whole new game genres that non-gamers will enjoy. Imagine the board game Clue as a video game with advanced NPCs, even Grandma could play it.
I've been working with Llama3 to build a prompting framework to eventually have ai host a world I would want to spend most of my time in. It's a lot more complex than I thought it would be, but it's going phenomenally well.
G’day. The Wes bell usually rings on RUclips, and I check out his latest stuff because it's NEW stuff. But what pisses me off is when I am a day away from youtube; I first check my usual stuff and head to the newest stuff, relying on the RUclips algorithm for the newest stuff & I come across a channel with a slightly different video title and a slightly different thumbnail on the same subject matter, and it's several hours after the initial Wes post I had just watched. Suffice it to say, plagiarists go to his channel, grab his stuff, and repost his stuff hours later, so the RUclips machine presents it as the newest content. What pisses me off is I have to waste time sifting through the “latest stuff”. Get on this youtube! And Wes if you read this post all I've got to say is, great work brother.

I’ve got a board game been playing for 15 years with mates we created. Sent it to Devs - they ignored. I hope AI gets to a point where I can make it myself. Unlikely probably buts it’s quite simple concept and original as it gets.

It will be interesting to see how fast ai progresses at learning code compared to a human. Once we have a few more data points of its progress, we might be able to predict when it will reach and forever surpass an expert level.

AI in video games is definitely going to be huge. But there are a number of very large hurdles. Coding by AI is remarkably incomplete.
Imagine youre raging against what you perceive to be a kid, but it's AI. Does that change the gaming experience? Will next gen kids feel the same way we felt in CoD lobbies?

Most gamers dislike the idea of AIs being used in a video game. I find the mentality asinine. AIs will help people unlock their creativity when developing video games.
How do you even come to this conclusion?
I used to do online online dating i the early 2000s and people would look at me like I was a freak. Now everyone is on Tinder and people look at you weirdly when you say you met your love in the bar.
In videogames people used to be disgusted with the concept of patching and updatesz, but continious games as a service, like Fortnite, League of Legends and Ghenshin Impact are now by far the most popular games.
All the people that are now screaming that AI should not be used in videogames will quickly change their mind when they see the possibilities. It may take a while before we have good use cases but when they come, they will all jump ship to team AI.
The only people I see hating on ai are artists (cuz they're the first on the chopping block), not sure where you got gamers hating ai from. I've only really seen the opposite actually.
@@MyAnalyser Games as a service is still disgusting, regardless of popularity. People take the good with the bad. It doesn't mean they're a-ok with the idea, they just accept it because otherwise they wouldn't be able to play the game. The cons don't outweigh the pros (in their mind), but it doesn't mean the cons magically vanished. There are probably loads of people who hate online dating, but do it anyway, because that's the way to meet people these days. The same may happen with AI in games, there will be a group of people who dislike it, but will play the games anyway, because that's just the way to play the game. Don't confuse tolerance with appreciation. We make trade-offs all the time in life. For example, I don't like commuting to work, but I do it anyway, because I need to work to pay my bills. It doesn't mean I love commuting, it means I tolerate it for the sake of keeping my job. Just because something is "popular", that doesn't mean everyone loves every aspect of it.
When it fully takes over It's just going to turn into echochamers of people living out their own ideas. And most of them will be too busy generating their own to spend much time on anybody elses.

I've been watching your stuff closely for a while now Wes, but have noticed that past few videos have been pretty low effort and repetitive... better to not put anything out versus just posting footage from other channels and adding no value to them. Plus the weird sexual thumbnails are pretty cringe

I finished watching the rest of the video after turning it off because of the repetition, I get to the whole narration thing while they're playing a game. There is absolutely no way an AI watch the footage and came up with those phrases over the video. That was just Wes here typing his own commentary and then doing text to speech for that commentary. There's nothing impressive here. Actually this dramatically lowers the value of watching this channel.
