I would never ever say Chris is a "country" artist. He is so much more than that one genre. He fits more into blues, R&B, but country allows more mainstream coverage and airplay He is a true force to be reckoned with, a generational artist
Chris specifically crosses all genres and brings R and B/Soulful Bluesy vibe which is in many of his songs. He is unique and in his own lane and category of songwriter/vocalist/guitarist extraordinaire🔥
Chris listened to a lot of the same things you did (imcluding Rap). You can hear all those influences in his music. The masterful way he combines all of that with that magnificent instrument he was blessed with just... Well let's just say playing Chris for your country installment is like cheating.

Every time they interview him after, they ask if he’s going to the parties & he says that no he’s going back to hotel with the family & going to bed. Totally opposite from the crowd! They take the kids & said it’s like a mini vacation!
