    Really excited for part 2! I saw a video where in 24 hours someone managed to get all the way to Morecambe in 24 hours, so I imagine you made it to Scotland!

    Thanks for this - interesting and entertaining ... You seem to know the bus interchanges in London pretty well, and how to get around them. I'm really hoping that as and when the SuperLoop gets going properly, someone from the Underground or Overground silo in TfL gets the bus people in a room and gives them a lecture about how to do way-finding signs etc. properly: Big Clear arrows and text 'THIS WAY TO THE SUPERLOOP Northbound' etc. Otherwise I imagine we'll get the standard bus people treatment - cut costs as much as possible, why put on to a large sign anything that can be squeezed into a sheet of A4, then put it behind a misted up glass, and don't bother to update it ever.

      I have a feeling of dread that the Superloop will not be as good as promised. As you mention, not only will wayfinding be rubbish, but the buses will just get stuck in the same traffic as the cars do that clog the North/South circulars every day. Unless TFL invest in dedicated bus priority traffic lights/bus lanes on approach to busy junctions the buses will always be slower than the cars and hardly anyone will have any reason to use them over the current buses.

    @It's All About The Journey. New subscriber here. Hello, from Trujillo Perú.
    England is a very expensive country, and this way of visiting it seems more appealing to my Peruvian Sole wallet than coach, trains, and aeroplanes. My question is how do I find the bus connections?

    • @ItsAllAboutTheJourney
      @ItsAllAboutTheJourney  10 месяцев назад

      I don’t recommend this method of travel for you when visiting the UK at all - it’s stressful and so much can go wrong, it was a challenge even for my 20 years in the UK! If you’re interested, I used the website bustimes.org . It has up-to-date timetables for all bus routes in the UK allowing you to plan well in advance. It features a live map and live tracking updates too so you can see where your bus is in real time. If you want to travel medium to large distances in the UK cheaply, coach companies such as National Express, Flixbus and Megabus do offer very cheap tickets. Hope this helps!

      Thanks to your video and planning, we will leave
      St. Pancras Renaissance at 7:10 a.m. Walk 2 min to
      British Library stop C for a couple of selfies.
      Using Oyster cards that we will have bought the night before, we will catch the 7:24 a.m. 390 to Archway Underground Station Stop U.
      At 8:07 a.m. take the 134 to Muswell Hill Broadway stop A where you bought a bread roll. From there the 8:38 a.m. 299 to
      Cockfosters Station, then the 9:34 a.m.298 to Potters Bar Station and ask for 2 singles to St. Albans at 10,08 a.m. on the 84 at a cost of £2.95 each. There we will alight for Elevenses (perhaps a marmalade sandwich), and enjoy being tourist taking photos before returning to St. Peters Street stop 10 to board the 12:45 p.m. 321 bus to Luton Train Station Interchange on Station Rd.
      Grab a quick bite to eat before getting the 1:59 p.m. MK1 to Bedford Bus Station where we should arrive at 3:59 p.m.
      With darkness approaching Bedford seems to be the appropriate place to go to bed and awake the following morning next to the river. After a hearty breakfast (Full English with fried bread and extra toast) it's back to Bedford Bus Station for the 11:10 a.m. bus 28 to Kimbolton St. Andrew's Lane. A place where we hope to take more photos before having lunch and catching the 400 at 2:00 p.m. to
      Huntingdon Bus Station.
      At 3:15 p.m. the 904 will take us to Queensgate Bus Station in Peterborough. A short walk to our hotel, leave our rucksacks, take hot shower, then get the 202 to Stamford to have dinner with a friend of my wife's.
      As your title says "It's all about the journey"

      I have a student Oyster card so I am able to travel on buses in London for free. Without an Oyster card, buses cost £1.75 for each hour of travel. All other buses were charged.

    You’re just wasting time going round and round in london, you need to head somewhere like Harrow or watford from Brent Cross then from watford to luton to mk/Bedford , Northampton etc etc

    • @ItsAllAboutTheJourney
      @ItsAllAboutTheJourney  Год назад +1

      We actually had a pretty direct, almost due north route out of London which I was quite proud of. I could have gone via Brent Cross, but the only direct route between Harrow/Brent Cross and Watford is the 142, which isn't very frequent and takes quite a long time.
